Have brought this new Cycle from Hercules and have been commuting to office since the past week.
The day i bought this, 21st Dec, had the motivation to cycle all the way up Chamundi Hills. For a climb-altitude of 2000ft and a distance of 8 Km- took about 50 minutes from the Base.
Just to let you know, i did break in between since the cycle was new and was yet to get used to the initial feel, but the threat of leopards in the wild and incessant traffic(being a sunday) kept me on my toes. This said, it needs FAITH to climb the middle stretch since this has a gradient and lack of resultant torque at the corners. The climb is a wonderful way of measuring your fitness, stamina and to observe the Mysore from a riders view. The roads are good and well maintained and some stretches that have dividers Except for toll points, there are no other Official/Polce procedures.
The Climb over, the Temple was crowded and had to make a fleeting Darshan from the Main Dwara(Gate). As usual the fun part in the climb is the descent and with a new cycle, i could complete this in about 20 Minutes. This being a tourist route and the drivers being client conscious did not bother me. Traffic rules and signage are excellent.
More later about commuting using your cycle to work……
