FRIENDS

A STORY OF TWO FRIENDS

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why? ” The other friend replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,

an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

Do not value the THINGS you have in your life..But value WHO you have in your life !!

Best Wishes……

CHAT WITH GOD

God: Hello. Did you call me ?

Me: Called you? No.. Who is this ?

God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

God: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don’t know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.

God: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God: Well I wanted to resolve your Fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty. .

God: Pain is inevitable able, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God: Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher . She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?

God: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading..

God: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in
the right direction. What should I do?

God: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God: when they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but
few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.

God: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

God: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear . Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by
the moments that took our breath away’!

”Something that is simple, the mind cannot accept. The ego wants very complicated and difficult things.”

LUNCH WITH GOD

hi, friends, a forward just come to my way, thot to share with u.

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her some chips. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.

Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Again, she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat

There all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave; but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman, and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, “What did you do today that made you so happy?” He replied, ” I had lunch with God.” But before his mother could respond, he added, “You know what? She’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, “Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?” She replied! “I ate potato chips in the park with God.” However, before her son responded, she added, ” You know, he’s much younger than I expected.”

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime! Embrace all equally

Blessed with your wonderful friendship
I’m writing this note to say I care
Moments of sharing our daily lives
In letters and emails we now share

Sometimes just to say hi
Writing of times; happy or sad
We always write and send a reply
Sharing life make us so glad

Sharing is the answer
God’s blessings is friendships delight
Thank you dear friends for sharing and caring
Exchanging ideas with love and thought seem so right.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights.

Time

Your browser may not support display of this image.

Time

Time, are you a friend or foe? At times it’s difficult to know,

If you are on my side or working hard to make me weak.

Some Time’s slow and some Time’s fast, I some Time’s long for you to last,

Instead you just ignore my wish and past me you will sneak.

A clock to beat, a race to run, from early dawn to setting sun,

You some Times give me too much Time, and other’s not enough.

A gift to treasure and embrace, moving at a steady pace,

Some Times you are a pleasure, yet some Times can be so tough.

Golden Moments that you give, will allow me to forgive

The proof of your existence by these lines upon my face.

Help me make the mountain climb, where flows your gentle stream of Time.

And let me age along with you with dignity and grace.

You wait for no one, still I wait, because within you lies my fate.

My future good or bad and for whatever life may bring.

I have a date with destiny, we’ll keep each other company,

For every second flying softly on your gilded wings.

(yet another forward come to my way)

Violence on TV

Violence on TV has a Negative Impact on Children

Children today are being exposed to too much violence on television.   Programs shown on TV these days are full of characters trying to be heroes by resorting to violence. Children on an average watch about 3-4 hours of TV everyday and are exposed to all sorts of fighting tactics and moves. Continued exposure to such programs makes the children resort to violence in their everyday lives, for they are made to feel as if violence is the best way to resolve an issue.

Violence is considered exciting and entertaining by most people. Inspite of knowing the effect of TV programs which contain violence on children, people still want to watch them. Lesser people now want to watch morally correct but slow shows on TV. Fast paced action-packed shows containing violent scenes is the order of the day. Some people even claim that TV violence has no negative impact on the child. This is, in fact, not true as children exposed to too much TV violence are found to be more aggressive and violent in nature themselves. They sometimes even try and imitate their action heroes and act as they would have in a TV program.

Academically, as well it has a negative impact on children, as they start getting the feeling that studies are not as important to them; it would be easier to push their way around instead.

Parents can play an extremely vital role in ensuring that their children see the right programs on TV and not the ones that send out wrong messages to them. Since this is not a full proof solution to this problem as in this day it is impossible to completely shut violence out of our lives, it becomes the parents' duty to discuss with their children the virtues of non-violence and how violence is not the right solution to any problem.

Children all over the world have already been exposed to too much violence on the television. The sooner every one understands the negative impact that this is having on them, the better. If the violence on television cannot be stopped then it is the children who should be stopped from watching them. Only then can we hope for a more peaceful and secure future!

Thanks to Jayraj for his kind inspiration for a blog.

Mousetrap

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his
wife open a package. “What food might this contain?” the mouse
wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: “There is
a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Mr. Mouse,
I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence
to me. I cannot be bothered by it.”

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, “There is a mousetrap in the
house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The pig sympathized, but
said, “I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do
about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers.”

The mouse turned to the cow and said, “There is a mousetrap in the
house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The cow said, “Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off
my nose.”

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the
farmer’s mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house — like the sound
of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she
did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital,
and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever
with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard
for the soup’s main ingredient.

But his wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit
with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer’s wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for
her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat
for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

MORAL
So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it
doesn’t concern you, remember — when one of us is threatened, we are
all at risk.

Jokes

Dear Friends,

Thot to share this forwarded mail also with u all and hope all will enjoy the same!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

This letter is from Banta Singh from
Punjab . We have bought a computer for our home and we found problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. After connecting to internet we planned to open e-mail account and whenever we fill the form in Hotmail in the password column, only ****** appears, but in the rest of the fields whatever we typed appears, but we face this problem only in password field. We checked with hardware vendor Santa Singh and he said that there is no problem in keyboard.
Because of this we open the e-mail account with password *****. I request you to check this as we ourselves do not know what the password is.

2. We are unable to enter anything after we click the ’shut down ‘ button.

3. There is a button ’start’ but there is no “stop” button. We request you to check this.

4. We find there is ‘Run’ in the menu. One of my friend clicked ‘run ‘ has ran upto
Amritsar! So, we request you to change that to “sit”, so that we can click that by sitting.

5. One doubt is that any ‘re-scooter’ available in system? As I find only ‘re-cycle’, but I own a scooter at my home.

6. There is ‘Find’ button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot for tracing the key with this ‘ find’, but unable to trace. Is it a bug??

7. Every night I am not sleeping as I have to protect my ‘mouse’ from CAT, So I suggest u to provide one DOG to kill that cat.

8. Please confirm when u are going to give me money for winning ‘HEARTS’ (playing cards in games) and when are u coming to my home to collect ur
money.

9. My child learnt ‘Microsoft word’ now he wants to learn ‘Microsoft sentence’, so when u will provide that?

Best regards,

Banta Singh
