Seeking Truth

Seeking Truth…

He was a seeker of truth, for he believed in the scripture, `Seek, and ye shall find’. He was tormented by the denials and the disappointments that marked his life. Equally torturous were the failures and the failings that characterized his existence. He believed he was an honest man, a man of integrity, strong in character and unwavering in his commitments. Then, why was it that he was wary of being tested every day? Why did tantalizing temptations make him withdraw further into his own cocoon, rather than take the plunge and savour the untold pleasures? Was it the betrayals and the deceptions that made him fear the face of reality? But then he always wanted to know the truth; he was convinced that once he crossed that bridge of uncertainty, he would be at peace with himself, however intense might be the hurt…

Later, after he passionately sought and eventually found the truth, he realized he were happier in his ignorance. Was it the punishment for seeking truth, he could never fathom…

And btw, I didn’t like the first sentence. I think seeker of Truth doesn’t/shouldn’t believe in any scriptures which are nothing but second hand opinions.

Amazing one… I think he took a risk and hence faced the burns; now he should forget the experience and move ahead.

Also, I see a weakness in him, may be external and not internal, as we have a tendency to believe in what others say (scriptures are also part of it). Anyways, if not weakness, it was confusion. It is very important not to let one and all touch one’s core, especially if such attempts are tempting yet coming from those with different learning paths.

ignorance is bliss, as aptly said. but then to find something true has the same effect in such a way that it quenches life’s desires and uncertainties at least for some moment, until one begins to desire again and uncertainties unravel once more.

Aren’t we humans too curious to know the truth always??

Reminds me of a quote “To really ask is to open the door to the whirlwind. The answer may annihilate the question and the questioner”………But I am wondering abt the above quote…..if you do not open the door, wont the pressure within the room torment you??

Truth always triumphs? or torments? Sigh..no definite answers!
