In India everyone has the right to freely express himself. The Indian press too has great freedom and is totally independent of the government. With such free and fair tools having been provided to the masses where does the need of creating violence to get oneself heard arise? The country is full of sham patriots and sham guardians of tradition who have this false idea that they represent a larger section of people, and an iota of issue is enough for them to create mayhem and destruction in the country. It is actually the shortest and most effective way to ensure their fifteen minutes of fame. The sensational media is always present on the site of the occurrences to ensure them their coverage. They become the talk of the nation of a billion people and a billion problems, if only for a few days. This all ensures that they get more than just their fifteen minutes of fame. Surprisingly the police never seem to be equipped to face such thugs. The government needs to empower the police force to put an end to such cases of blatant lawlessness and intolerance.
In the present situation it seems as if there are two completely different worlds residing in our country. One is full of progressive people who are receptive to new ideas and want to see India as a superpower. The other is full of regressive, obstinate people who make sure that India remains stagnant. And in the growing rift between the two sections it is the country that suffers the most. India has always been identified with the phrase 'unity in diversity'. One wonders if it will hold true for long.

very true raj. seems we r living in the hands of some bigots. nobody is really free now to talk or do what one wanted. it is really shameful…
I agree and there seems to be nothing you can do about it. BTW, long time since you visited my blog.
We are divided not by external forces -but by our narrow minded views tide to religion, caste and color. A powder that is easily ignited by those disgruntled folks.
Very nice post Animesh. :)))))))))))
That’’s a very thought provoking post, Animesh. Sad, but so true. I think it is time for the rational people to organise themselves and take collective action against these forces that divide our country.
Liked ur post.
its true that our society is divided into two groups one is educated, awared live and let live kind of people and another unemployed, frustrated youths doing such violent act and work as puppet for some political parties.

INTERPRETATION OF DEMOCRACY IS BEING WRONGLY DONE………
Very true Animesh…this country has gone to the dogs…with due respect to this wonderful ”animal”…..and the saying ”unity in diversity”….today, only diversity exists, eating the country up like an infectious bacteria… growing like a voracious weed. How can we ever have unity, then?..A world which has become so insensitive, our country no less. Sad indeed!!
hi, good write up….i feel it is basically degenerating value system…sab chalta hai attitude…I ”ve to make place, money n power …no matter what do i”ve to do for that….This attitude prevails…Media can play a very positive role….if they do not project such news as provocative…and can emphasis more on corrective measures….did anyone ever see anybody from the opposition party in US condemning ruling party when twin tower happened….?so no matter who u r , ultimately it is our home burning…..
..As for the media …i”d posted one writeup…”censor the news channels”…
