Scent for a Woman … 2

The scent lingers… after she's gone…

Every woman wants to feel attractive, confident and appealing. One of the interesting features of perfume, and especially how its fragrance enhances the scent of a woman is this: different perfumes will react differently on each person.

A fragrance is a blend of extracts, alcohol and water that is characterized by the ratio of its different ingredients. Who you are and what your personality is like will impact how each of these ingredients respond to your mood and character. Yes, the scent of a woman can be one of the most alluring and attractive features of style and personality.

Therefore it is important you take your time and peruse cosmetic counters until you find a fragrance that is right for you.
Experts advise that you shop for fragrance in the morning when you are not fatigued and when your senses are most keen. Sample perfumes on an empty stomach. They also advise that if the weather is cold outside, warm up before testing.

Well, the scent you decide to use will tell people a lot about your personality, before they even get a chance to talk to you. It is something to fall madly, passionately in love with, not simply like … and buying it
should be a joy. While many women are heavily influenced by slick ad campaigns and the promise of being like a celebrity, recent research indicates that your emotional response to color should be considered when selecting scents.

Those in the perfumery business have long understood the relationship color, fragrance and mood, and now experts are advising consumers to be aware of what happens on the multi-sensory level when they smell a scent. One study in particular found that the majority of women associated fragrances with certain colors, and those colors signified particular moods.

For example,
purple and violet invoked introspection, reflection, sensitivity. Fragrances made with oriental spices would be compatible …

Those who like
pale blue (romantic, dreamy, sensual) might want to wear a floriental, a fragrance that combines florals and oriental spices …

Green
(harmony, ness, earthiness) scents include citrus or chypre, a blend of woody, floral and citrus …

While those who
prefer red (dynamic, passionate, extroverted) might like a fresh floral scent…

Women who
favor yellow (elegance, hopefulness, wisdom) should try a scent with an uplifting, effervescent ambiance …

Those who
love pale pink (carefree, playful, cheerful, feminine) might like a fruity floral.

Other perfumery experts say women want more provocative, sensual, intricate fragrances that are geared to special occasions. Women want scents that evoke glamour, luxury, passion and sophistication. They want to pamper and be pampered, celebrate and be celebrated. In general women are looking for luxurious fragrances for the evening, going out, and for romantic situations.

Like and dislike of a perfume is very intimate because I think people cast themselves from childhood, in their own style.
Like women with pale light skin like to prefer the white floral and the citruses while the dusky, mellowed skin types love the orientals and the spices. Yet around the world what is generally considered romantic has never gone out of fashion or taste.

Scent for a woman

Scent for a woman…

Being in marketing it is my job to suggest colour, scent, shape, size and so on for designing new products … the most intriguing for me is to decide … the scent for a woman.

The ignorance of the mysterious complex of a creation … known universally as a 'woman' … led me to explore the scent for a woman… her likes …her moods and her tastes. It is indeed a curiosity to me … an attraction …perhaps mysterious to explain yet I try my best…

For a woman a perfume is profoundly intimate. It defines her personality… it compliments her clothes, her style, her hair, her gait… it portrays her dominant trait that when she moves the scent surrounding her defines her presence and when she's has gone it lingers … as her statement.

Coco Chanel became famous for their ad line "a perfume announces a woman … and delays her departure" How true. The right fragrance is for a woman on the move like a great outfit or a great hair-style. The confidence of a scent lifts her spirits and attitude. When she has it and knows that she has it, it shows on her … for in her heart she's feeling good and her scent an invisible presence is saying “I am woman: smell me and ah! Feel my presence!”

The scent of a woman can be one of her most appealing features. Hairstyle, clothes and makeup are all important, but the fragrance a woman wears provides a level of attractiveness that few other fashion features can touch. There’s something about the scent of a woman that makes her stand out and get noticed by men, and what woman doesn’t want that? Are you shy and quiet? Are you bold, outgoing, flirtatious and sensuous? Well, the scent she decides to use will tell people a lot about her personality. At that moment she is the beautiful flower out to attract the bees and everybody who comes into contact with her… feels being "touched' by her… her perfume like her personality lingers on them even after she's gone…

Some women wear the same fragrance day in and day out, regardless of where they go. Their scent is their signature. Others change fragrances as often as they change clothes or perhaps even boyfriends

No wonder, perfumery is hundreds of billion dollar business… the famous places being in France and Italy. The Grasse region of Southern France is notably the best known for perfumes and the most coveted job there is "the Nose" (he/she is the guy who tests the perfume).

In Italy alone there are about 1,800 independent perfumeries. The Italians buy scent with the same love and devotion as they buy food or wine. I think every woman should too. Why deny themselves one of life's great pleasures?

In India the terrai region and the upper ranges of Uttar Pradesh are known for perfumery, famous being "Kannauj" where it is a cottage industry… the famous "Mitti ka attar" carries the aroma of "earth after a fresh rain" is still distilled there. Indians have for ages been good perfumers and also connoisseurs …but with the British rule things subsided …and today most of the scents are exported in the raw oils abroad to be better distilled and made into combination perfumes. The famous Indian attars are "Heena, Agar, Khush, Mitti, Mogra, Gulab, Moti…and so on

"The Ultimate Guide to the World's Finest Fragrances,” by Nigel Groom is the most famous book written with much experience and research. According to him, the best places to dab or spray perfume are as follows: Pulse points, Wrists, Navel, Collarbone, area behind the knees. Mr. Groom states, however, not to place perfume behind the ears! Interestingly enough, the alcohol in the perfume dries more quickly in this area.

How a perfume smells on you depends on body chemistry as well as what lotions and other cosmetics are used, but also what you eat. For instance, eating garlic affects how a fragrance smells on you, as does eating fatty foods. The garlic and oil that seep through the skin mingle with the fragrance that attempts to seep in.

Selecting a fragrance can be confusing. Each year, dozens of new fragrances are introduced, and there are more than 1,000 on the market overall.

My next post will tell about the different types of perfume or scent (as the Americans say it) for a woman to dabble in.

Post script: The movie was titled "Scent of a woman" Al Pacino notices the girl he will tango later by her "smell". She tells her name is Donna - which is the Italian word for “woman”. And hence the movie name…

Thy comments should be like falling … fragrantrose petals… only!!!

Wating and watching in the slow lane…

Thinking aloud … while stuck in the traffic…living in the slow lane

Looking out you see the new world passing by the scene is the same everywhere I reckon everybody busy in their own world drawing it close to themselves …

The ubiquitous Cell phone wherever you go you will find one or many look out everyone is chatting driving crossing the road waiting for the bus or just busy typing messages cell phone for once is the answer for timepass each being spoken into oblivous about the people around them if you strain a bit you will hear many lies being exchanged wife calling husband who's basking with his cronies in the bar…'am driving will call you back or will be home soon . So is the son, daughter or friend the employee the cell phone has made lies very trivial to utter without any guilt factor chalta hai

Like the Dylan's song the 'times are changing' too fast earlier generations took a decade to see or observe a change in the society but then the age of computers dawned and everything present became archaic and everything tomorrow outdated living according to these speed changing times has made new species of humans fidgety gen x3 these are the new nomads…always on the go always in a hurry to be somewhere
WHERE is the moot question even they can't explain they are fidgety to stop at the signals fidgety when waiting for the tickets even fidgety to answer a question reply in grunts or in SMS which is the only way they know yet they get by
they are all net savvy wait is unfashionalble waiting is for morons time is money with working hours expanding potentially with their incomes time has become a constraint and to let it go by is crime leisure is a time wasted they work hard play hard and perhaps burnout fast

But the new dudes are a funny lot more patriotic more practical and less formal they care a damn for good English and are very comfy in their own multilingual language Life for them is fleeting and they are busy making the most of it ITS MY LIFE its an open highway ..the faster you go the further you go

ENJOY while it lasts is their mantra

Yes Enjoy!

Cheers.

Did it all start with eve???

Dear Adams’ and Eves’.….Before God created Eve..it was a man’s world ..or shall I say Adam’s world..He had his own good ways..like he never had to cover his body..he could afford to be dirty..didn’t ever had to get up and offer his seat(even reluctantly)…all in all life was simple..unobligated..leisurely( if not langurous)..and also he could pee where ever he liked( some still do)..

God saw that Adam was happy and carefree..this gave Him a curious thought… what if Adam became as happy as one can..then God would not exist for Adam and perhaps not heed him in the future…That simply put assured no good future for the Creator..and therefore..

He Created Eve (as it goes from the rib of Adam)..Sudenly Adam was(ribbed) changed..confused..he found himself to be naked(till then the word did’nt exist for him)..he ran and covered himself…Eve looked demure and delicate he jumped to his feet and offered Eve his best seat..(chivalry was born)….he realised he had not formally introduced..he gallantly(another new word for him)..walked up to her and ” Madam I’m Adam “..secretly pleased with his palindromic intro….Eve (as it always has been ever since )..nonchalantly said “I’m hungry”… For What ???… has been the conundrum Adam’s progeny could never fanthom…till date.

Then on life for Adam moved leaps and bounds ..simple became complex..easy to hard..Adam was hurtled towards unknown destines’…he was hard pleased to satisfy Eve in all matters..he beat his brow… his chest and trampled hard on the ground..yet could’nt figure out a way to please Eve…eventually he turned towards his (and her)creator with folded hands and pleaded..oh! God why the weaker sex is so strong…

God pondered and smiled at his wily creation..and said out loud…
” NEVER HAS SO LITTLE(creating Eve)..DONE SO MUCH..FOR SO MANY…(pardon me churchill….

So Dear Ladies it all started with eve….remember.

Best Wishes And My universal Love to all Eves.

I read this eons ago …written by Richard Armour who wrote lot of tongue in cheek stories that were in the least amusing…

All eves take it easy… this is my first post…
