    HI,

I was reading your article about Narendra Modi and I totally agree with you. As a gujarati, I know what has been done in last 5 years for progress of gujarat and actually all gujaratis have left godhara a far behind.

Electronic media is totally biased against Modi, but today or later, they must agree with truth.

    Good article.

hi sobha can we make friendssssssss

  13. BEST FRIEND says

I can’t give solutions to all of life’s problems, doubts, or fears.
I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.

I can’t change your past with all it’s heartache and pain, nor the future with its untold stories.
I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can’t keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

    Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

    Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask.

I can’t prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your values, from me.
I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can’t give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself.

I can’t keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you cope up with it.

Honestly, wasn’t the article in Rediff today (Feb 21) about Mammootty done without any research whatsoever about his upcoming movies? Though Mammootty acts in commercial craps quite often, he has always stated that he even now asks Adoor for a role in his next movie! Moreover it’s people who make the movies hit, so there should be something people like in the commercial movies.

Hoping to see more (better researched!) articles from you. Like the Udavum Karangal one! :)

    Regards
    Ramesh

I hv jst read ur blog “Whose land is this anyway”.Most of d things u write r very relevant.Bt I feel u hv expressed assamese’s sentiments widout knowing d ground reality n assam’s history. We d assamese r proud to b Indian nd oder than those handful of militants, d rest of us do love to b indentified as Indian in abroad. Situtation in early 80s was nt of a freedom struggle, it was abt asking 4 our due rights, which have been ignored by Govt since d ‘62 China war.During d British raj we wr 1 of d developed states in India, n it continued till ’50s. But that war with China changed all d eqns.Frm thr on no new development work started, as if all d investmnt in dis part of India were a waste.Assam was better connected by rail, water n air during that period, but those damaged communication n/w were never been established aft ’60s.we asked for roads, schools, technical collegesetc;but got nthing.Stdnt movnt of 80’s was abt asking 4 our r8,nt for indpndnce.Nd ULFA DOESNT REPRESNT us anymore.

    hi sobha
it is really nice to see your feelings about chennai in your blog. chennai was also rude. with the influx from southern districts, it has changed. compared to kerala, it is better. though cent percent literacy is there, people are self centered and the rich never help poor. there are two trains to chennai from trivandrum. one via madurai and another via ernakulam. i have travelled in both the trains. the train going via madurai will be noisy, people laughing, shouting, discussing everything under the sky. but the other train everyone will sit like robot. keralites if they are open minded and share their feelings and mingle with others too then kerala will not be number one in suicide rate. after all malayalam is only a language.

I hate to ask for a request but I should. I have a brilliant friend who has a collection of short stories ready for print. Whom should he approach. We hear of Godwin the super agent. What how does one get in touch?

Hello Ms Warrier, I am a Keralite who has lived in Chennai City for more than 20 years and I can tell U indeed it is indeed a genuinely kind and welcoming city with ppl who enjoy life without destrying another’s freedom. Somebdy called Prasad had said a few instances will not go to coronate a city as kind and blah, but I can cit 100s of instances and even if U take a 1000 surveys, Chennai wud come out in rainbow colours!!
And Kerala, unfortunately, with the exception of cleanliness (terribly slack herein chennai) shud beat any city hands down in Rudeness and indifference!

I am not sure if you will believe if I tell you that this is the first time I have had a look a blog - any blog. Going through the site I find some consolation. There are people who are new to this field and are not ashamed to admit that.
But I would consider myself lucky; I saw the Shobha Warrior’s blog first or else I would not have cared to read on. The name warrier comes from the part of India where I live and that was what prompted me to look at that page. I am happy to see that she writes so well, chauvinism, one might think. Long back I had two teachers (really great teachers) who were warriors/varriers who have influenced my attitudes to a great extend.
I look forward to reading lot more of your blogs.

  44. Abhay says

Sorry, I meant “I do believe that it is a psychological disorder due to the circumstance in which you grow”

  45. Abhay says

This is really a correct analysis of the truth behind homosexuality. I do believe that it is not psychological disorder due to the circumstance in which you grow. So, lesbians and gay people perhaps need more support and confidence from people around. But, this doesn’t mean, homosexuality need to be tagged as “natural”.

I have seen some comments from people like “Nirakar”. The first question I would like to as is whether he/she has read this article correctly? Did you actually understand what Shobha is talking about? It sucks when people start talking nonsense when they can’t state their own opinion. Mr. Niranjan Vyasa’s comment is similar. There is not a single statement in his comment that tells about the core topic “homosexuality”. What does BJP and Shivsena have to do with this article?

  46. Rajesh Vyas says

Homosexuality is certainly not a crime!! It is hightime the governments stopped the socalled moralising and left the people alone. Our Governments and parties like the Shivsena and the BJP have become the uncalled for police force. Let people exercise their own free will in the matters of sex and leave the people alone. What crime are these people committing against the society? As long as they are peaceful and practising their sexual choice in the privacy of their homes there is absolutely no reason to bother them or ridicule them for their sexual preferences.

We, as a society, are a nosy people. We should put this practice behind us and get away from the hypocrisy that we have been practising for centuries.

Some bold people have to take up the cause of the homosexuals and let them live their own lives as they wish to.

Do we not boast of being the largest (if not a very effective ) DEMOCRACY in the entire world?

  47. Jahan Bakshi says

Your articles truly inspire, provoke and touch the heart and soul. Keep going…

  48. Nirakar says

Shobhaji, what part of India do you live? I bet not in village or West or South. You must be from East side where outsiders can brain wash and fill in books, mind, and takes independent thiking (out of the book box). It is sad that nationalist are successful because of people like you. Bengal gave so many wise, intelectual saints and freedom fighters to India that it is hard to believe. Please read swami vivekanad and true history for your ignorant remarks. Don’t waste other people’s life because you do not believe in life. I believe there is god in everyone, so search for that not issues.

If you really worry then instead of writing nusunce of your thoughts, go help someone. HOPEFULLY YOU READ COMMENTS.
