World cup fever has started with WI Vs Pak match, Well Well what a performance from Calypso Players. Tremendous attitude from WI Batsmen especially Marlon Samuels, Lara, Ramnaresh Sarvan, Dwayn Smith and great finish by Collymore hitting last ball for the six of the Paks best bowler. Pak has disapointed everybody once again as like many other worldcups. Pakistan is a poor starter but as the game progress who knows you might also see them Semis. I believe in their strong middle order.

Anyway Kudos to lara for leading from the front, can see the spark in this veteran cricketer.

I would like to comment on the commentary team on Sony Set Max for the last game is ordinary, i should say very very lousy. The commentators are not able to Gel together or complement each other. Especially when somebody is paired up with Aamir Sohail. There is no spark or interest generated from this commentary team.

Especially the choice of words from Aamir Sohail and his recommendations are very very pathetic. Like the way he says “arrogance from the batsman” what he is talking about. Comeon man can u say something positive. The lesser is said about this commentary team the better. The commentary team for the yesterday’s is Very Very Ordinary except Michael Holding and Tony Cozier.

Can someone highlight this to Sony Set Max. Especially Singapore Viewers are paying about S$ 105 to watch this world cup and we do need some quality commentary which can compleemnt the cricket.

I personally miss Harsha, Sunny, ravi and Geofferey, Tony Grieg, Richie benaud. Man this makes the cricket complete.

yesterday i been to watch Eklavya after all the hype and reviews all over the web about how great is the movie and acting. Frankly Amitabh has done better movies than this, comeon its naked truth that he acted 100 times better in BLACK. As VVC shouts all over the world that its the best acting performance of AB so far, he is telling the world that how great he is to get that perfromace out of AB. In Eklavya AB just need to be himself and there is not much to act for him, just walk around in those Royal Guards dress and i am sure his height and dialogue delivery gave him an added edge. Thats all to it.

When comapare to his performacne in Black, acting with a kid in black is amazing and more difficult where u need more patience and excellent timing is required while working with kids.

I dont know why Mr Chopra has created such a huge hype by gifting AB with a Rolls Royce. He is a true marketing guy where everybody fall for his gimmicks.

Anyway Eklvya is a good movie but i dont even feel goosebums which i felt with the acting of AB in Black. Come on media come clean.

just back from india fater one week of stay in Hyderbad and Vizag. i can really smell “Feel Good” feeling among Hyderabadis. My goodness this is my trip to India in about 2.5 years. What a change ? Shopping malls everywhere and people are flocking restaurants and malls. Money is changing hands. Its no more traditional India we know where people prefer to eat home cooked food.

I been to Hyderabad shopping center, crazy sale is going on…………. Buy 1 get one free, buy 2 get 2 free and Buy 2 get 3 free………. heights is Buy 3 get 3 free……. i cant imagine what would be the scene like in another 3 years. Everybody has a mobile phone. Even Milk man calls from his mobile phone outside the gate to ask them to collect the Milk, never heard or never seen such a thing.

Well well i hope India prospers and the gap between Poor and rich decreases. Hail India.

We hear a lot about these in the past week and infact we would be hearing for the rest of the month. Radio, TV, Coffee shops, pubs everywhere. Especially celebs all over the world talk about this and this has become a passion or should i say Fashion.

Why am i very sceptic of this ? As far as me is concerned i tried to have a couple of resolutions but it never been implemented or should i say i never tried to implement or even made an effort.

Let me atleast try to put my new year resolutions on this blog so that atleast it would be a revolution. I think for 2007 there are 2 major resolutions -
1. Quit smoking
2. Save 10% of my salary

Can i make this happen ? Tough, especially the first one. Smoking has been part of life now. i love smoking especially in the evenings with a cigarette in hand watching people pass by, sky, trees. well well thats life. For once i will always think this is the best part of life. Especially in a busy city like Singapore where people are so busy and fast moving with their own errands. But i think its high time i give it a second thought of quitting smoking. As its becoming an expensive every day, each 20 pack of Cigarettes costs about $11.50. i smoke about 6-8 sticks a day, so all in all i am spending about $111 a month on just smoking.

even the second one seems like impossible task considering my expenses every month. just giro deductions iteself is about $1400 every month.

$410 - Renovation Loan
$140 - Gym
$150 - Insurance
$200 - Maid Levy
$500 - Kid’s School Fees

and on top of that monthly mobile bill will also be deducted and My MBA fees every quarter i got to come up with S$2200. But i got to save atleast 10% for a rainy day.

If anyone has any sugesstions as how can i manage my expenses please feel free to do so.

I predicated about first test match and amzingly it turned out to be true. Sourav and Sreesanth has perfomred as i predicted just before the match. Let me open my eyes and see who will be dream performer for India in this test match in overcast conditions.
My gut feeling is Jaffer is going to talk with the bat and he wouldnt disappoint dravid for showing his faith but again Veeru will disappoint. Sourav will again chip in with some useful runs. But the star performer will none other than Dravid. He will take india to the position where it cannot lose the match. But it all depends on Sreesanth, Zaheer and Munaf. Sreesanth seam position, Munaf Accuracy and Zaheers agression will decide the course of the match whether its draw or Win. These three will play key role if india got to win the second match and clinch the series. But as usual Kumble will be old horse getting those crucial break throughs and mesmerising tailenders with his Ball mix.

Master leggie is going to hang his boots. Will that send a some sort of message to Sachin. May be sachin would have started thinking about his retirement for sure. I have a feeling that sachin would be thinking to hang his boots if India win the world cup. But are India capable of winning one at the place where they lost 5-1 to WI recently. Its hard to bet on India but i can bet on sachins retirement. Lets wait and see whether Master Batsman will hang his boots before selectors hang his hopes. Got to watch.

Well india has atlast won a match in SA and that too what a phenomenal win especially when the odds are in favour of SA. Anyway job this is the first step and in the past we have seen how on one day india looks unbeatable and on the other day they look no where. Got to very very careful with SAP backlash. They should maintain this momentum and teach a good lesson. Make this as a habit.

There were lot of talk of pathan being used as an opener. By Choosing Pathan to open is bad choice, what kind of message they want to send it to Gambhir and other upcoming openers. Come on india be positive give gambhir a chance or stick to Wasim Jaffer. Wasim Jaffer might comeback strong, he is a good player. Instead of asking wasim jaffer to sit, why dont we give a positive signal to the one who are not perfroming since long time. Let veeru sit. Open with Gambhir and Jaffer. Stick to the same bowling line up. If Munaf is well and fit for selection then play him instead of VRV. Apart from that everything seems fine, especially middle order is strong. Its matter of time where Sachin comes into the form. He would need little bit of luck to perform and make a big score.

Sourav should continue to bat with the same determination. Just a observation when Sourav and Laxman are batting there seem to be something was lacking in the partnership which they have built. Its not the same as what you get to see when laxman batting with Dravid or Sachin. That chemistry between laxman and sourav is the worrying factor. It looks like Laxman is not convinced or conformtable in batting with sourav. Something is lacking. May be i am too observant. But there is something uneasiness between them.

Well Well Well,my prediction of Ganguly performing with the bat and sreesanth perfroming with the Ball has come true. I am surpirsed as well with my prediction just before the match.

Whatever india has lived upto the expectations. What a perfromance ! my goodness me. They have proved to be a world class team. Its just a matter of rituals and win the match. but India should be wary of Pollock and prince, cannot take it easy untill they open up the tail, where Kumble can take care of them.

Well Played India. Just remember that we havent finished the job yet. Win the first test match and try to win atleast one of the remaining 2 matches and clinch the series. got to teach a lesson for the complacement of SA.

There were certainly dense clouds are formed in indian dressing room ahead of first test match with SA. Dense clouds mean the think tank of Indian cricket management would be gloomy as to go with 6 batsmen + 4 Bowlers + WK or 5+5+1(Means there is no Veeru or Sourav). but cannot ask sourav to warm the bench with all the Hype in the air and we should give veeru a chance and if he doesnt play well then we can permananently bury him in SA itself.

My gut feel to go with the balance of 6+4+1.  So the top order is Veeru, Jaffer, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, Sourav, Dhoni. so our top 7 have formed. So who are frontline bowlers for India. Considering SA weakness to the spin and the form of Harbhajan Singh. We should let him sit on the bench and give a youngster a boost. So our 4 forntline bowlers would be Zaheer, Sreesanth, VRV and Kumble.

My gut feeling is there has to be trimuthi perfromance from the indian side if they want to send the message accorss to the world that indians are not tigers on the paper alone. I think we can count on Dravid, Sourav and Sreesanth to deliver the goods and make us proud. A nominal performances from Sachin, veeru and dhoni would be added advantage or Bonus.

So india come on, its high time you pull your socks and play an outstanding game when chips are down. This is the time to rise to the occassion. Now or Never. Play every innings and every match as if its your last. All the best.

A indian cricket never fail to disappoint their fans. in fact i have read an article before the SA Tour even started that the Indian performance in SA this time cant get worse becoz its history is already worse. But i am sure crtics might be having a tough time in choosing the words that fits the Team India performance. Indian team every time they took the field they have challenged the critics and everytime Mr. Veeru has appealed all the indians to have patience.

Does Indians have a say in the Team India performance ?. Does it anyway help a AAM JANATA in anyway if india wins or loses ?

Indian players are just playing and doing their Duty and feeding their familes as we do. We go to office everyday and we are also working and our perfomance is not judged in anyway by outsiders and why should we judge Indian Players Performance and make all the Hoo Hah. Rubbish.

We should completely ignore them, dont give them the attention they needed and this would bring the Team India to their Knees. If this perfromance continues to depreciate even sponsors will be running away from them. The day will come when none of the sponsors will be willing to back them. this should happen and then players would feel the pinch. 

And the other thing i dont understand is Veeru keep appealing to Indians to have patience, Yes Indians please do have patience and wait untill we lose the owrld cup and start palying qualifying round matches. Remember history might repeat again as what happ in the case of hockey and its bound to happen again with cricket as well.
