Hunger d mom of invention….

Time .late night the shops had all closed. Back from a trip all the three were hungry. Rummaging through the fridge all that the hands could find was a lone egg and half a packet of bread. One egg and three mouths to feed!!!!! How could a mind that loved challenges sit idle and accept fate as it is.

The egg was broken and the contents transferred into a mixing bowl. Next went in a variety of spices and herbs. After beating the contents into a frothy consistency the concoction was poured into a frying pan to be turned into a fluffy omelette. This omelette was then cut into small square pieces to look like cottage cheese cubes.

Next was the turn of the gravy to come into being. Onion, garlic, ginger and the usual spices found themselves in the wok which after a lot of man(handling)oeuvre turned into  rich, red, aromatic ,mouth watering gravy on which set sail the omelette cubes like little ferries on the Red sea. Accompanied by the half packet of bread toasted to golden brown this delight to the eyes( whether it was a delight to the tongue was yet to be discovered) in white porcelain bowl, alighted on the dining table.

Some one had rightly quoted first impression is the best impression. It was the look of it or the severity of the hunger that was torturing the three tummies, one does not know, that lead to the disappearing act of the curry in a hurry. But all that was left to be seen was a bowl crystal clear that even cleaning with 'pril'or the like would not have achieved the same effect and the sound of smacking fingers

Moral: Necessity alias hunger is the mom of invention.
