Hello, old friend. Am revisiting iLand after around 15 months. A good number of the old guard at iLand seem to have stopped writing, or moved away. Good to see your posts, as witty and original as ever.

    Regards,

Hi Madhu. Missing you in my new abode. As you know I’ve been made to give up the familiar habitat of Rediffiland. Who but those who are forcefully evicted know about the sense of alienation and disorientation that such migration brings with it:-(

Am not sure why but my son especially has been pretty averse to dogs….maybe a story narrated to him by his granny…a true incident whereby my cousin had a brush with a stray dog which ultimately killed him. I suppose that’s stuck in his head. Kids after all…..

Me and murder…!! Can never think of writing one, but yes Agatha Christie was a fav author of my school days. This story is based on real life experience, where I have got affection, friendship and a lot of information from interacting with a few friends on the net. I, like Mayuri, am stranded at Baroda for my daughter’s studies, hopefully will join hubby in a few months.

    Hi,

I see that you had read Neetha Nair’s post about Goddess Parvati and birth of Lord Ganesha. As we know, Hinduism has lots of symbolism behind each aspect of our mythology. What happened thousands of years ago in a different age, can’t be judged from what we learn in schools now a day.

We can find the symbolism behind the birth of Lord Ganesha here. Do read it in case you have read her piece and have wondered what was the reason behind such a story in our Hindu mythological.
