    Yes indeed, I meant that our planet has been diagnosed with cancer.

    I referred to her as MY mother, and not OUR mother, because referring to her in the latter way dilutes the responsibility.

    We all, each of us, have to take it as our individual responsibility, and not as some kind of a wish-washy shared responsibility. Because, like they say, “If it’s everybody’s job, nobody is answerable.”

    Each of us needs to hold oneself 100% answerable.

    So I speak in terms of MY life, MY planet, My mother… and MY relationship with her. If I fail to act, she shall certainly look ME in the eye and say that I failed her. I won’t be able to say in my own defence, “So did everybody else!”

    I realize I’m being a bore by constantly writing this heavy stuff… by not writing the light-n’-soft stuff that I used to write. I shall try to write lighter and softer. But if I fail to do so, forgive me for my present overconcerned state.

    Princess, my mother — my planet — was diagnosed with cancer.

    For awhile, I was in denial, and did not take the diagnosis very seriously, because, like others, I believed that my mother was strong enough to overcome everything without any help from me.

    Then I continued in denial because I believed that there were many others, more powerful and well-informed than others, who were already taking meaningful action.

    And then it slowly dawned on me that they too were in some form of denial. They too had not understood the full gravity of the situation, and were thinking and speaking in terms of ‘improving profitability and continuing economic growth while saving our planet’.

    Others spoke about treating this disease with Crocin, as chemotherapy was too drastic. Obviously, they were more concerned about their present lifestyle than about the planet.

    Now I’m trying to come out of denial, and bring others out too. So I constantly speak and write about this cancer.

    Dear Princess,
    Subho Bijoyar antorik Preeti, Subhechchhaa o Bhaalobasa niyo. How did you spend the Puja?
    A fresh, brioght snap of the royal palace of Mysore…. did you go there on the occassion of Dussehra? Actually I stayed in Mysore for 3 years during my childhood. I love that place a lot.
    Our Puja was fine. Till Saptami, me and my wife were down with throat infection one after another. From Maha Ashtomi, all were okay. Just ghoraa pheraa aar khaaoa daaoa. aar abosyoi adda.
