Let’s get PHYSIC-al

Well, just so everyone know, I’m a physics grad from some college in Mumbai. Well, frankly I had always liked science and particularly physics. Maybe it was due to one of my teachers that I got interested in physics in particular. He had good knowledge and knew how to explain things in a way that we understood.

I never aced in anything but things came naturally to me. I mean, I was no mugger (except I did mugging in my final year grad) but I was considered a bright student by my peers. I never did sleepless nights during my exams. Rather I don’t even remember mugging much for my exams. I used to fare bad in my languages (particularly hindi and marathi), history, and geography b’coz that required mugging up.

I liked math and science. I had this dream of becoming a scientist. You know, you used to watch those movies or cartoons wherein a scientist is working in his lab creating some mechanical toy, robot or maybe some chemical. Well, I had a dream of becoming one and having my own laboratory. But in college I suppose the dream died out with my grades being not up to the mark to get admission in better college and not getting proper guidance. But somehow I graduated in physics, it was mostly through mugging this time, basically was not clear about most of the concepts (it might be b’coz of me bunking most classes I suppose).

Anyhow, after completing my grad in physics what am I doing? Well, I’m into some company doing bussiness documentation for a US client (Don’t ask me what that is). You might be thinking how the hell did I land here. Well, after completing my grad I was waitin for my results and then I saw this ad in the paper which proclaimed good salary with training and even undergraduates can apply. I applied, got selected, and got into working. And I’m sort of stuck with this. I’ve got loan on my head now, so I can’t even leave the job and actually don’t seem to see any scope in pursuing a career in physics. I’ll have to do further studies for that, maybe MSc but with current finances I don’t think that will be possible b’coz science is a full-time subject. At least pure science you don’t have part-time stuff. I know some might say “Where there is a will, there is a way.” I suppose my WILL isn’t that strong then.

Also some other things in my life have taken precedence over physics but for the love of the Pure Science, I still go through some websites dedicated to physics and read some articles, keeps me fascinated. Anyhow sorry for rambling so much. It had been so long since I blogged.
