Britney’s hair ‘on sale for $1m’

As reported by BBC, the US hair salon where pop star Britney Spears shaved her head has apparently set up a website to auction her locks for more than $1m (£512,500).

sThe website, buybritneyshair.com, claims to have been set up by salon owner Esther Tognozzi. It includes photos of the hair, saying it is “absolutely authentic”. Meanwhile, Spears has been spotted in Hollywood sporting a short blonde wig.

The salon’s website offers bidders an “opportunity of a lifetime” and says a portion of the proceeds will be donated to various unnamed charities. As well as the hair, the winning bidder will also get the hair clippers Spears used, a blue lighter she left at the salon and the can of Red Bull she was drinking at the time.

Since splitting with husband Kevin Federline last year, Spears has been making headlines with her partying lifestyle.

Auction at e-bay

25 year old Britney Spears’ hair has turned up for sale on eBay. The pop star shaved it off after a wild week at a string of Californian bars. There are several listings on the auction website claiming to be Spears’ lopped off locks. It is unclear which listing – if any – is the real hair. Psychologist Cary Cooper, of Lancaster University, says she is obviously quite a disturbed girl at the moment and she doesn’t know who or what she is. Cooper says it is obviously a call for help and Spears needs somebody to take hold of her. Meanwhile the unfortunate Britney has been rumored to have visited a local hospital since the incident but again left shortly after. The singer is rumored to be suffering from post-natal depression but maybe the former teen pop princess is now just rebelling having missed her childhood whilst concentrating on a career in music.

eBay pulled some of the listings just a few hours after they were added after the locks’ dubious provenance came to light. So far sellers in Australia, UK and Germany have all claimed to have genuine cuttings. One auction claims to have the clippers she used. Several auctions are selling what they say is Spears’ hair but not hair cut on Friday. One auction is selling what it says is Spears’ hair of a different sort — from a Brazilian wax session. Still another auction is selling a Britney doll with the hair cut off. One capitalist is using the term “Britney hair” just to direct people to his auction of hair off his cat’s rear end.

Haircutting Studio where Britney became bald

The shop, Esther’s Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, Los Angeles, has been besieged by the press ever since the incident. JT Tognozzi, husband of the salon owner said: “We still don’t know why Britney chose our shop. We’ll probably never know.” The Tognozzis claim to have the genuine hair and will be selling it for as much as $1M of which some will go to charity.

Before heading to the tattoo parlor, Spears grabbed an electric clipper and shaved her own head at a San Fernando Valley salon Friday night, it was reported.

“I tried to talk her out of it. I said, ‘Are you sure you’re not having a bad day and tomorrow you’ll feel differently about it? Why don’t we wait a little bit?”‘ salon owner Esther Tognozzi said.

“She said, ‘No, I absolutely want it shaved off now.’ Next thing I know, she grabbed the buzzer and she went to the back of my salon and she was shaving off her own hair,” Tognozzi said.

One fan of Britney said: But now… to see how she dresses, how she looks when she’s out, watching her stumble around… it’s just sad. Where is her family, her “people”, her publicist, her real friends??? She could have turned this whole thing around… she could have been the cute young pop star again, being a loving and doting mother to her two precious babies, getting her life back on track, etc.

Sorry to ramble, but I’m just shocked and saddened by Britney’s choices these days. I really hope that she doesn’t end up like Anna Nicole.

Britney Spears got a new tattoo of red lips on her wrist..

She has more than lost it. After a full day of reports of whether or not she was in rehab she showed up in Los Angeles with a freaking BALD HEAD. Britney showed up at a tattoo parlor in Sherman Oaks with a shaved bald head. She needs to get in rehab if she wasn’t and get on some anti-depressants. So sad that Kevin Federline is looking like the sane one now. Eyewitness News shot video of the newly shorn Spears, with tiny tattoos on the back of her neck, sitting for a new tattoo, a pair of red and pink lips, on Friday night.

Britney wears a blond wig to hide her bald head

Troubled pop diva Britney Spears, who recently shaved her head off, was spotted wearing a bikini and a wig in a hotel in Los Angeles. The mother of two was seen without her kids at the Mondrian Hotel Sunday afternoon. The hard-partying signer was chain-smoking and partying with her friends, reports www.hollywood.tvAn eyewitness said: ‘It was a shock to see her in a wig after what she had done to herself.’

Why did Britney of $110 million put up her bed rooms for sale?

Spears’ current net worth according to Forbes is around $100 million largely from music. She has sold over 75 million albums to date. But she has supplemented her income with a profitable line of perfumes and multimillion-dollar endorsement deals.

Also, just after two months of ownership, Spears has put up her six-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion for sale. It is a Tuscan-style villa complete with all the furnishings and it’s for sale at $7.5 million. She had bought it for $7.2 million. Earlier, as a part of her divorce settlement with estranged husband Kevin Federline, Spears put her seven-bedroom Malibu mansion on the market in January for $13.5 million.

Bald Britney is getting back at her mom?

A source told Web site X17 that after arguing with her mother over her sudden departure from rehab (Britney spent less than 24 hours at the Crossroads treatment facility before ditching), the 25-year-old singer shaved her head as an act of defiance.

After shearing her locks, Britney reportedly exclaimed, “Oh, my God, I shaved it all off. My mom is going to be upset with me.” But according to another account, Britney was just practicing mane maintenance. One online report claims that after years of bleaching, coloring and extensions, her hair was badly fried — and bald patches were beginning to appear. So Britney decided to start over with a clean slate, so to speak.

Indian Hair in Hollywood

As reported some where after the birth of a long-awaited son or the recovery of an ill spouse, Hindu women often visit a temple and shave their long locks as a gesture of thanks. One reason for their generosity: According to Hindu belief, Lord Vishnu borrowed money to celebrate his marriage and promised to pay interest on the debt. “Basically, the people are donating so he can pay off his interest,” says Mr. Kallam.

Few suspect that their sacrificed hair may end up on the head of a European or American woman, possibly even a Hollywood actress. Yet temples across India make tidy profits selling the hair of pilgrims to foreign companies that make hair extensions and wigs out of the shaved locks. Western women are willing to pay up to $3,000 for these products, particularly fine, Caucasian-like Indian hair. The bulk of the profits go to salons and foreign companies. But these sales often contribute millions of dollars to the budgets of India‘s busier temples, especially Tirupati Balaji. Temple officials use the funds to provide free food and housing for pilgrims, as well as to operate hospitals, colleges, and various charitable institutions. India currently accounts for only a small fraction of the global hair market, which is largely dominated by China. However, as temples attempt to maximize their revenue using the Internet, the hair business in India will likely continue to grow

One woman had her 32-inch locks cut off by a temple barber, a gesture intended to thank the deity for good fortune. The hair itself headed in a more secular direction: to an auction where hair brokers bid for it. Some strands bought at auction are made into hair extensions, which are sold to Western women for as much as $3,000 for a full head of hair. Some have no idea that their hair is being sold. “It’s just waste,” says a woman named Sandhya, of her 26-inch mane shaved to thank the deity for giving her a son.

For example Great Lengths founder David Gold buys hair from Mr. Balsara of Bangalore. He says his annual revenues are about $70 million a year. The U.S. imported $47 million of human hair from around the world last year, mostly for wigs and hair extensions, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s foreign trade division. At the high end of the market, the biggest competition to Indian hair is European hair, which is more expensive and more difficult to find. Still, it’s not perfect for everyone.

Salman Khan was bald

Salman’s counsel S V Marwadi had filed a petition in High Court on Tuesday to cancel the arrest warrant issued against the actor for not appearing in the hearing in Jodhpur court. His lawyer also told that the actor had gone through major head surgery for hair treatment and was advised by the doctor to take rest. Salman had gone abroad for major head surgery for hair treatment but something went wrong and he fell ill. During his illness Jaaneman shooting was canceled and Sajid had to bear heavy losses. Maybe this is Salman’s gesture to Sajid.

Whatever might be the possibility, Salman had full support of his friends who themselves has gone bald to support their star. So far, his hairstylists, his cook, his make-up guy and his spot boy had supported him with his new style, possibly his fans would follow him soon.

Permanent natural hair loss treatment

The permanent natural hair loss treatment is hair weaving and hair transplantation. One method of hiding hair loss used by bald woman is the comb over, which involves restyling the remaining hair to cover the balding area.

The successful techniques to restore the hair line are hair transplant by medical hair restoration experts. Hair clinics for baldness treatment that have a lower and cheap hair transplant cost are in India Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Pakistan Lahore and Islamabad. The Hair Replacement hospitals are abroad also but the hair surgery cost is higher.

Surgical hair restoration is the only permanent solutions to male and female hair loss by surgery. Two drugs Minoxidil and Finasteride are available for the treatment of balding in men. Rogaine, the only FDA approved topical treatment for male or female pattern hair loss.

Hair Transplant time involving hair weaving operation varies from 2-4 hours. With advanced micro-surgical techniques, most hair transplant patients do not need a bandage. The transplanted hair will grow forever and requires no special maintenance of any kind. The hair weaving cost the price can range from $750.00 to $2,500.00 for a quality custom-made hair addition. In general, hair replacement candidates must have healthy hair growth at the back and sides of the head to serve as donor areas.

Tea Cure for Hairy Girls

MINT tea helps women lose unwanted body hair, docs have discovered.

Millions suffer from hirsutism — hair on the face, breasts and tum — caused by high levels of male hormones called androgens.

But a study of 21 women in Isparta, Turkey, found drinking two cups of mint tea a day reduced the hormone’s impact and lessened hair growth.

Dr Mehmet Tamer said: “It could be a good natural alternative.”
