An interesting message in circulation : ***** The world's thinnest book has only "ONE" word written in it : "EVERYTHING" And the book is titled : "WHAT WOMEN WANT" ***** Friends, it would be nice to know your views for and/or against the statement J Waise I personally feels the statement applies on not just "WOMEN" but "MEN" too these days J . What you say ???

Friends the obvious question which comes to my mind more often that why do people blog ?? The answer that comes immediately on my mind is that I guess most of the people finds blog as a forum to express themselves. Blogs are I guess most exciting thing ever happen to the communication. The basic difference between writing Blogs and writing in other forums is perhaps that writing blog gives us the power to get printed immediately. The blogger can immediately get the views / comments on his or her posts perhaps that is not as quick in other modes and forums. My first introduction to concept of blogging was when I heard about Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) writing some article sort on net referred to as blogging . Soon after a while one of my friend had told about her blogging passion Frankly speaking the concept does not click to me at first but may be few things are destined to happen in our life. I joined island with the help of my frnd and was introduced to joys and happiness of blogging. While moving on island, I had a pleasure of reading many great writers and their posts. Some of them are very good in posting prose, while others in romantic creation, few in fiction, one or two in Philosophical perspective, many in poetry, some in humour, some in satire, few very very original ones (ofcourse like You J) and few at times not very original ones (like me J) some very straight forward, some very blunt, some very sharp, few very intelligent ones etc. etc. all in all it was a great learning experience reading variety of topics, variety of creations Blogging gave me an opportunity to come out of my shell and meet new people, see new horizons, meet and interact in open with friends and even at times with strangers too. The reasons perhaps why ppl blog may be different in many case but as far as me is concerned, I had always tried to present different perspective, food for thoughts through my posts whether it is my post or my comments or my gb messages the effort was always spot-on to provide simple yet something special and interesting to read, think and analyse for readers. To be honest may be a small part of me, however, always selfishly hoping for admiration and affirmation; but that happens I guess with everybody I had also made sincere attempts to create positive vibes in the minds and hearts of the people visiting my island and my posts I don't know how far I do succeeded in my attempt and how far not. I guess I did succeded a bit atleast .. what you say ?? The best part I noticed about blogging is that I always find someone else who sums it up - whatever it is - better than I ever could During my blogging experiences at island one of interesting issue noticed is about people asking for comments (U smiling na ?? J) ppl do sometime complaint about not getting proper attention and comments to their posts . on a lighter note I will say to all those who don't comment ..bhai yeh kya baat hui aap aapna posts doosron se padhwa loge aur comment bhi le loge par jab doosron ko comment dene ki baat aae to kyon comment nahi doge J ??? bhala yeh koi aachi baat hai J .. Jokes apart, I personally feel that we should not feel shy of sharing our views / comments on various topics (blogs we read) . I know at times its not easy since most of us have a long list of friends and thus in receipt of many blog notifications daily but still I think as far as possible we should accommodate our friends and should encourage them for the views they share with us on posts . Its only our views / comments which gives them source of encouragement, inspiration and motivation to take variety of interesting things to share thru their posts . Beside it is also a fact that we only ask from those whose views and opinion matters to us so from now on if someone ask you for posting comment please be considerate Aur haan please make sure you comment on this post before moving on J… Will also like to mention few lines from the post of one of our fellow islander Karthik, whose views on the subject are : " …….some great personality once said - Comments are the fuel which keep blogs running and writers writing. So, reading a post and not commenting is like watching a movie without buying a ticket……" Friends, it has been one long year of almost non stop blogging just thinking to take a break from blogging for sometime . However will proceed with my decision if you permit J So what you say ???? Boliye "tussi na jao" . lol J *** Take care and happy blogging ***

Friends, you may like to read this short story, which I am sure will not only bring smiles on your face once finished but also will compel you to think how at times we fail the judge things in a right perspective based on the environment we share with others all around us.. please don't forget to leave your valuable comments for the benefit of all other readers, notifying as to what do you think should be the most appropriate moral of this story ?? Regards, ————– A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway next to a priest. The man’s tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, “Say Father, what causes arthritis?“
The priest scanned the man carefully with his eyes and then replies, “My Son, it’s caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack of a bath.“
The drunk muttered in response, “Well, I’ll be damned,” Then returned to his paper.
The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. “I’m very sorry. I didn’t mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?”
The drunk answered, “I don’t have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does.“ J

Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn’t cross the river. The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. ‘How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females ?’ thought the little monk. But he kept quiet. The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her. All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of accusations about big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. ‘How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty ? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite. The big monk looked surprised but smiled and said, ‘I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along ?’ [The story clearly reflects the thinking of many of us today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous .. But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away. We keep on carrying the baggage of the 'pretty lady' with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why ??? Can I have few answers from my learned friends ?? ]

No idea which of them are correct or may be in some of cases none of them is correct J … The six things that attract women :- It is believed that women are most attracted to these six things . Please go through the list friends and tell how far you agree / disagree ?? 1) Means (Wealth, possessions, gifts to them or providing for them) 2) Power (Influence, Leadership, provide
safety) 3) Fame
4) Looks (Including height)
5) Exclusivity (Royalty, hard to get, affiliation)
6) Personality (Humor, creativity, romance, intelligence, mystique etc.) Now, numbers one to five are largely out of immediate control of men. If one is not rich, he will probably not going to get rich this week. If one is not famous or tall, he probably not going to be in a hit movie or grow 6 inches in the next 24 hours. So that leaves with number six, PERSONALITY. Fortunately, it’s the one thing men can change. And it’s the one thing that can OVERCOME all of the rest. By the way, the one quality that attracts women the most (and keeps them attracted) is not something that they can initially ‘look’ for. It’s the way they FEEL when they are with men or thinking of them. In the end, if men don’t have wealth, power, fame, or looks they will to have to use their personality to make them FEEL good. To sum up, one's personality is the most powerful weapon men can use against women (here refered to for attraction purposes ONLY)…. Is that so actually ??? Finally Roger Federer has done it . One of the all time great in the history of Tennis, Roger Federer continued his winning streak today by beating Andy Roddick in wimbeldon 2009 final and added yet another jewel in his crown by achieving his 15th grandslam title. Australian Open 2007 : Federer becomes the first man since 1980 to win a grand slam title without dropping a set as he sees off Fernando González 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, 6-4 for a third title in Melbourne. 11. Wimbledon 2007 : Federer emulates Bjorn Borg by winning a fifth straight title here, beating Nadal for the second year in succession in an epic five-setter 7-6 (9-7), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 6-2. It lasted close to four hours. 12. US Open 2007 : Federer was given a tough test by Novak Djokovic but won 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, despite trailing by a break in each set. It was his fourth consecutive title in New York . 13. US Open 2008 : Federer recovers from his Roland Garros and Wimbledon heartbreak months earlier to win a fifth straight title at Flushing Meadows, beating Britain ’s Andy Murray 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 in the final as second seed. 14. French Open 2009 : Federer finally prevails at Roland Garros by beating the surprise finalist Robin Soderling 6-1, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4. The Swiss had lost the three previous finals to Nadal. 15. Wimbledon 2009 : Federer overcome Andy Roddick in keenly contested final which have many twist and turns. The match score finally read 5-7, 7-6 , 7-6, 3-6, 16-14. "Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them — a desire, a dream, a vision". A tribute to one such player, performer and undisputed champion a legend infact

An old man was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, “A battle is raging inside me … it is a terrible fight between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.” The old man fixed the children with a firm stare. “This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.” They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old man replied: “The one you feed.” ****** Would be interesting to know your views friends..

Hi Friends, today (12th June) is a very special day for me….. It was on the same date last year I took a very small step of stepping-in on this rediff island. It has started when one of my friend had told about her blogging passion Frankly speaking the concept does not click to me at first but may be as I was destined to join island, I asked her to create a id for me and post something on my behalf. She was quite generous and more than happy to accept my request and created my present rediff id (the password of which I changed far more quickly than may be she had expected) for me and posted the very first blog for me on the same day last year (as there was some technical problem at my end). Understandably yes the response was not good initially as I felt like being thrown in a deep sea without knowing what to do and where to go. But slowly and gradually I learnt the art of blogging and experienced joys and happiness of this blog world. During this one year long journey, I came across many friends who someway or other made a mark on my heart and mind. I enjoyed the association with each of them. Without wasting much of a time would like to dedicate few lines for each of them (not in any particular order, merit or preference) whom I met and shared some unforgettable moments during my journey on island : 1. Dishaa : If at all I am successful in making some place of my own in this blog world the lot of credit goes to her. She has been instrumental in teaching me A, B, C of the blog world. I take this opportunity to thank her from the core of my heart for all that she had done for me. Although she sometime tease me saying "agar mujhe pata hota aap itne saare dost bana loge to main kabhi aapko island par introduce nahi karwaati". She is also a very good friend of mine. I found unique blend of affection, loyalty, love, respect, trust and loads of fun in her friendship. It is often said"Good frnd care for each other, close frnd understand each other, and true frnds stays forever beyond words, beyond time" hope you promise to be one such frnd dishaa. Thanks dishaa for your love and unending support. Dishaa is also a very popular islander herself. I enjoyed reading some of her blogs like "Dev Deepawali" & "Tagged Replies" and also the recently started series "weekly capsule". 2. Sarita : I found her extremely popular (on island) yet so simple and friendly. She is one of my early friend who use to motivate me by her comments when nobody knows me. Thanks a lot Sarita for your constant support and motivation that was perhaps needed most by me during my early days of blogging. One of the islander has rightly described her in her post as "Being a constant fan of her writing and having formed a picture of her in my mind Independent, compassionate, loving, sensible, no-nonsense taker and free spirited I think if I had a daughter, she would grow up to be a lot like her" . All her posts are my fav. Still one about "Winner and looser" I liked most and apart from that I also appreciate all her attempts of writing poems believe me she is very good in all that attempts. One interesting question she keep asking me many a time and i am still not able to come with satisfying answer is ”why is it that all male islander frnds have more female frnds as favourite on island and vice versa“ … Sarita let me tell u i am still looking for some suitable answer for this question.. 3. Alka : She is the only friend perhaps whom I met on island but now we hardly talk anything related to island. Although she is not very active on island these days still she is regularly in touch with me. Over the period of time I found her very loving and caring. I am proud of the association we share. Net duniya main bhi itne aache dost mil sakte hain yeh maine kabhi socha nahi tha. Frienship is a priceless gift that cant be bought or sold but to have an understanding, friend is far more worth than gold" I found you 24 carrot pure gold alka. Thanks alka for the beautiful friendship we share. Few posts of her which I liked most are "Tagged reply", "Tumhi batao" , "Relationships". 4. Deepika : Mujhe famous (incase I can be considered one on island ) banane main inka bhi bada haath hai as she is very popular blogger herself and when she says something for me on her post ppl. do take that very seriously jokes apart, I am quite lucky to have such a cute friend from island. Thanks deepika for making me feel special at times by your loving and caring ways Proud to have a friend like you. Waise logon ke dil jeetne ki kala main deepika ka koi jawaab nahi hai .. that's the reason why she managed to have so many good friends on island in just a short duration. I am a big admirer of her posts to name a few "Silence" & "Queen of hearts", are my fav. Posts. 5. Madhureema : My first interaction with her was when I posted a comment on her blog about deepika . Phir dheere dheere as we have one thing common (a friend deepika) we came close to each other and become good friends She herself is a very good blogger and I enjoy reading her post whenever she put one on her island. I enjoyed reading her post like "Ahsaas", "Kasak". 6. Rajeshji : Deepika had been instrumental in directly / indirectly introducing me to few good friends. Rajeshji is also one of them. I sometime wonder how a person who is Doctor by profession can manage to devote some time from his busy schedule to write such a beautiful posts. His "Dhonim" series is too good. Thanks rajeshji for your friendship and support. 7. Niviaji : Needs no introduction she is very popular on island Her choice of posts (whether post subject or pic) is just amazing I am very fortunate to have such a cute friend .A frnd gives hope when life is low, a friend is a when u have nowhere to go, a frnd is honest, a frnd is true, a frnd is as precious as you thanks niviaji for the frndship we share. Its difficult to pin point few fav. Posts of her as many of her posts are my fav . still to name a few "I am happy and proud of you", "Basher Badr", "Kal", I liked most. Aur haan ek baat aur, I liked one pic (a lady with half covered face and doing all the talking with her charming eyes) on her island don't know why she had removed that pic from her display at her island … while i am writing these lines today she wrote a blog that she is saying goodbye to island…. i am sure lot many will agree with me if i say niviaji ke bina island soona soona sa lagega… so niviaji please reconsider ur decision… we all islanders love u a lot … 8. Smriti : A very popular face on island .. Writes well inke blogs ko padhne aur saraahne waale bahut log hain island par if I had to pin point few good blogs of her which I liked most then I will say "Sukoon", "Shaayar". "Intezaar". As a person I found her extremely emotional (at times) but a very good person by heart. She is also a very good friend of mine. I on this forum would like to take this opportunity and wish to convey my thanks to you smriti for being a very loving, caring, supporting and understanding friend. 9. Tanushree : I enjoy being part of communication with her all the time. She is jovial, bubbly, honest and very straight forward. We have a good laugh more often than not in each others company. A frnd is someone we turn to when our spirit need a lift. A frnd is someone we treasure for our frndship is a gift. A frnd is someone fills our lives with beauty, joy and grace and makes the whole world we live in a better and happier place. I find one such frnd in her company. As far as her blogging skills is concerned, I liked her carefree way of writing. One of the few post of her which I liked most is "MBA Maaya" & "faces of every occasions", "Cook na kaho" 10. Savi : I find her witty and intelligent. She is one among few who had become my good friend in literally no time. She herself is very popular blogger and attracts attention of many by her fearless writing on different subjects. I also liked reading her political satire. Thanks Savi for being what you are.. I am proud to have a friend like you 11. Sweta : Some friends are gift of god perhaps. I will easily call her the blessing of god.. Thanks Sweta for your love, care and support that you keep showering on me in your very own special ways. I also love your sweet surprises whenever I receive them from you. Few lines for you sweta "thank you for touching my life in ways you may never know. My riches do not lie in material wealth, but in having a friend like you - a precious gift from god" 12. Aameenji : Inke baare main kuch kahna suraj ko roshni dikhaane ke samaan hai .. I think one of the most known face on island kaafi saare log inke poems ke deewane hain I wish I had even half of the talent as he has when it comes to writing a poem . Yun to inke sabhi post aache, nahi nahi bahut aache hain, particularly poems phir bhi I like reading other articles whenever he pen down some. I also like few lines displayed in his island "DREAM SELLERS INTERNATIONAL :::::: Yahaan Sapane Kharide Jaatey hai; Beche Jaatey hai…… AUR Repair Bhi Hotey hai…." He is also a regular visitor on my island . Thnx ameenji for ur love and support 13. Amishaji : I find her very talented and popular blogger. Woh gaagar main saagar kahlaane waali kahawat shaayad inke post padh kar charitarth hoti hai. Kam sabdon ke istamaal ke waavjood itne ' itne badhiya blogs yeh kaise post kar letin hain yeh padh kar to kai baar main bhi hairaan ho jaata hoon. Its difficult to pick one from the long list of her blog still to name a few "Hum aur riste", "hum tum" , "raah chalte" I like most. 14. Ashaji : I liked her poems a lot. Kabhi kabhi yeh ascharya hota hai ki itni aachi kavitae ashaji kaise likh letin hain. When it comes to writing poems very few can match Ashaji. She is also a good friend of mine. Thanks Ashaji for devoting some of your valuable time for visiting my island on regular basis. I liked her post "Aurat" which was applauded by many more islanders too. 15. I owe a lot to the friendship we share. Few good post of her which I liked most is "Izhaare pyaar kaise kiya jae" & "Love in reality". 16. Manjuji : I am a big fan of her writing skills. I once asked her "aap itna aacha kaise likh leti hain" and her reply was "aacha likhne ki ek hi recipe hai aur who hai dard jitna badhta jaega aap utna badhiya likhte jaenge" Mujhe lagta hai dard ko itna aache se bayaan wahi kar sakta hai jisne waastav main kabhi dard ko jiya ho". I don't know how far ppl agree with her statement but may be she is right shaayad dard se jo abhivyakti nikalti hai who seedhe ruh tak pahuchti hai. She also pays regular visit on my island. I acknowledge manjuji your constant love and support for me . Proud to have a friend like you. 17. Shilpa : A popular blogger and a good friend of mine. Its always nice to communicate with her as and when we have a chance to interact. "Nice friends are gifts not easily gained. It roots from one's heart and involves memories that stay, not for a moment, not for a day but forever" .. Thanks shilpa for being such a nice friend to me. 18. Preethi Nair : From the interaction we had with each other I had noticed that she is not only beautiful but also she possess a very cute smile.. I enjoy her company whenever we manage to catch each other online. She also write well, one of her post which I liked most are "Me and my office", "Zindagi ki kashmakash". Thank you preethi for the association (friendship) we share. 19. Ranjitji : I call him my English teacher . Very few ppl are quite generous to extend their helping hand even when they are not being asked for Jokes apart, since learning is an ongoing process, I admit I am still passing through that learning stage and he like a elder brother quite affectionately helps me to point out my mistakes as and when I commit any (infact I commit many ) in my posts .. thanks ranjitji for your constant love and support 20. Hinaji : A very good friend of mine. She had always considered me her true friend and I feels the same for her too.. One of my fav. Post of her which I enjoyed most reading was "Puzzled Love Story". She got a very good response on that particular blog. 73 comment on the post itself speaks volume for the liking ppl developed for her story (post)….I would also like here to mention one para from her latest post ..”After this I have decided that from now onwards I'll make my own bridge for happiness, I will not wait for one to come in my way. I'll be happy for what is with me today, I hope today's happiness will bring tomorrows joy and I am sure you will also find your piece of happiness“…… i liked this para from her post …. shaayad zindagi ka yahi phalsafa hona chahiye…. 21. Rakhee : Enjoyed the association we had in last few months. I had once translated her few Bengali poems (post) with the help of one of my Bengali friend. She is a very good friend of mine. Thanks rakhee for your regular visits on my island and cute comments. 22. Nikhat : We share a lot in common and I am happy to find one good friend in her. She is a regular visitor on my island and I had been recipient of her cute comment / views on regular basis as well as her mails and forwards. Thanks nikhat for ur love and support. 23.. Anvesha : I can easily consider her one among my few good friends. She had made the place of her own on island in just no time. I love all the interaction we have with each other. Thanks anvesha for being a wonderful friend of mine. 24. Lataji : A very good friend and a popular writer that's the one image that comes to my mind of Lataji. Her unique way of wishing good morning thru her post is something which I don't find others doing on regular basis. She also writes very good poems. Although I have a complaint that she don't visit my blogs regularly or may be she ignore commenting incase she visits, still I had been recipient of her blessings and support through her motivational comments whenever she feel like commenting. Friends, would be nice to know your comments, appreciation, suggestions, advice anything you feel like saying / commenting on your association / interaction with me while moving with me on island. Please feel free to mention drawbacks / shortcomings too incase u noticed any in me. I promise to take all that in right spirit. With best wishes, Deep P.s ' Friends, for once, I thought of changing the name of this blog as somewhat similar blog name was used by our dear islander friend Rahul for his post recently (merely a coincidence I guess) but since the post is something related to you, me and our association on island, I thought this post title more appropriate, so i decided to continue with the same title which I earlier thought of naming for this particular post
