SARATCHANDRA………….A WRITER?

SARATCHANDRA………………A WRITER?

You may have been surprised by this question, but I think the great Mr.Saratchandra was more of a Reporter than a writer.

You may have read most of his works like Mahesh,Pallisamaj,Devdas. What do you find in those stories a mere description of a true incident of a village.

He is presenting it just by a giving a little masala on them–which is the work of a reporter. The incidents happening in Mahesh,Pallisamaj are just daily incidents in villages.

So combining the above points I prefer to call Saratchandra a great 19th century reporter who published his reportins in his own books.

I would like to inform you that it is absolutely my personal opinion, and I want to know hat you think about it.

try writing sumthin like dat then u will know he was a reporter or writer?so many incidents are happening in this 21st century and so many reporters to cover it then why not a single sharat chandra is coming up?its not that easy.commenting about others is easy rather than doing a job.

you call him a reporter or a writer but he presented true picture of society of that period. Moreover i feel writer does not just compiled the events as a reporter but he was brave enough to point out the wrong happenings of society same was with Premchand….

i think i am a very small person to comment on such a big writer. Afterall he expressed his thoughts in writing and every human has a different thought.

It is neither unfair nor fair. It is simply your observation.

The job of a fiction writer is not just to give a story in his imagination. As well his/her imagination should also mirror the society to make the writing a meaningful proposition. Most of the writers in our country in the 19th and as well the earlier part of the 20th centuries were those who mirrored the society.

They really owe our gratitude for having brought to light the small things happeneing in the interior of a village - otherwise, the generation living in the urban conglomerate may not even have some basic idea, what the condition of the person in the deep interior is, who produces what we eat and wear.

We should know their conditions when we lavishly spend for food and clothing. Incidents in the story may be anything representing a realm.

We only need a rethinking, whether a comics, or a concocted unrealistic fiction is alone a story, which merits as an entertainment, which is also necessary.

with due respect to the writer, dear writing a simple daily routine incidence is an art…………try it for urself………….if that inceidence is written so well that one relates to it …and takes us throught the emotional intellectual cultural philosophical practical journey…………..and a the end if we enjoyed it no matter in which way by cyring or laughing….or smiling………the effort done is worth……tribute to all the great authors out there who inspire us with their readings………….

all great persons have some other jobs.nobody is born great.his writting looks so real & if u don”t add masala who will read ?aftersome year somebody may give personal opinion about ravindranath tagore.but we cannot duel about their crdibilty & works in litreature field.

It would be unfair to stamp him a reporter…. I agree he wrote mostly on village perspective with village girls as a strong character…… Some of the characters might have some similarity………
