I want to share a few of his words with you-on the subject of optimism and dealing with life’s trials elegantly and with grace. As a young psychologist, his newborn son died. That event devastated him and plunged him into dark despair. In the book he writes of his lessons and that through his challenges “I learned what optimism really is: it’s knowing that the more painful the event, the more profound the lesson. There are so many lessons in this life we just don’t want to learn You just can’t tell someone these things and expect him to become wise. “Wisdom only comes the hard way.” Words of truth!

My life’’s biggest lesson has been that I do not control the way things unfold into my everyday life. With that responsibility off my back, life has turned to be empirical, rather than a well oiled engine with a pre-determined outcome. T
always an experience is a good lesson …..
the fact of life it is…we learn only the hard way,,,no preachings no saying makes any sense to us,,we just say it,listen it or write it and then forget…we learn only when slaped….perhaps thats why old time teachers used to have a stick?
Any experience is a very good lesson ..it makes us more sensible and realistic in our approach.
In my opinion, a message this important will need some more work on presentation, Vish. I am not sure this will be digested by your readers. It just means so much. You just can”t learn without doing your own mistakes, whereas a lot of us try to teach others what is good and bad by “convincing” where if we know this, very often it is better to let people make their own mistakes. I don”t know if I made much sense either. But I liked the message
Very true Vish… Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself…
