Last time I shared some pictures taken during my Diwali trip to home [Link]. Here are some more pictures:

Chhath Puja is one rare festival where Sun is worshiped both while setting (in the evening) and while rising (the next morning). Sun brings life to earth This picture was taken during the evening.

'Radhe Chhakkar' ' a cracker which delights each and every child. I guess it got its name because of Lord Krishna's Chakra ' a weapon that he used while holding it in his index finger. Worshiping Krishna is considered incomplete without worshiping Radha; and we take the name Radhe-Krishna together. The kind of Radha's love for Krishna is considered the highest form of devotion. Radha's name is taken first; also symbolising that devotee is greater than the God she worships.

Sweet home: colourful home :)

This baby spider was seen outside our house. It was tiny and cute. I zoomed in the camera to capture the colours of nature Isn't it beautiful?

Money and the money plants are meant to grow … Their roots / routes are not one but many… They can climb walls…

The last day on my stay, I remembered that I was missing something ' to draw and call my friend Lord Ganesha home This one, sketched with pencil at one go, looks like baby Ganesha :)

Some snapshots from my home, taken during this Diwali trip…

This is called Odhaul in Hindi - a beautiful red flower which is offered to Goddess Durga…

One White amongst Many Green

Diwali ka diya…

Kyariyon me sookhe patte gire hain - aur ek Ashok ka chhota paudha ugnaa chahta hai…

This is a banana leaf! Agree that I am getting better in photography? :)

We grew up with many of the plants and trees in front of our home. This coconut plant has a history too. We grew up taking care of and giving water to the plant, and for some time, we compared the growth in our heights with the plant’s too :) But it won’t give fruits for many years when it grew up!… Father thought getting it cut down, but we made him agree to keep it alive - giving him all kinds of logic, even citing Hindu scriptures where it is written that planting one tree has equivalent punya as to having many children.. And by God's grace a miracle happened and you see those coconuts there? :)

Drawing my Gods…
When I go home, one thing that I happen to get doing is to draw a Ganesha. So here I bring something for you:

This is the latest one :), from this trip. Finished in 10 minutes by my pen. And surprisingly, father loved it this time :)
This has been our old asset. I think I used my elder sister’s crayon paint for this. This is a big poster; taking our snap when we stand in front of it makes a good picture…

When no child is at home, sketch pens go dry. And hence when we reach home, we make use of such things. Had drawn this after removing the cap of the sketch pen and used the inner spongy stuff to colour it red. I have shared this before…

I made this a long time back. And I even got it laminated :) And before that, I cut my name from it. No prizes for drawing my Gods :)

My younger sister drew this. When I and mommy saw this, time stopped. Never in our life, had we seen such a cute Shankar ji. What do you think? The smile on His face is unparallel. So happy to share it here without her permission :)
6 pictures:

6 months old Rahul. Parents love this picture most; I don’t understand why :)

Returning to the present :) - 1 July, 2008, Mumbai.

One of my friends called it my ‘crisis in madhya-pradesh’, some others used some other honeyed words. But fat is fat.
Last evening, I shot three pictures of self: and there is no trace of that! Check out!
And no, I didn’t take these after a day long fast. This is after dinner :) Though there is still room for improvement…
PS (19 May 08): I am deleting most of my pictures in which I appeared. It was getting too personal. With those, some of your comments also disappear, sorry.
