It”s so Nice to Have a Dad Around the House
DADS are special people
No home should be without,
For every family will agree
They”re “SO NICE TO HAVE ABOUT” -
They are a happy mixture
Of a “SMALL BOY” and a “MAN”
And they”re very necessary
In every “FAMILY PLAN” -
Sometimes they”re most demanding
And stern, and firm and tough
But underneath they”re “soft as silk”
For this is just a “BLUFF” -
But in any kind of trouble
Dad reaches out his hand.
And you can always count on him
To help and understand -
And while we do not praise Dad
as often as we should,
We love him and admire him,
And while that”s understood,
It”s only fair to emphasise
His importance and his worth -
For if there were no loving Dads
This would be a “LOVELESS EARTH”.

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.
A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.
A dad issomeone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail…
Dad,you”re everything a dad should be and some.

I remember daddy”s hands
folded silently in prayer.
And reachin” out to hold me,
when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story
in the callous” and lines.
Years of work and worry
had left their mark behind.
I remember daddy”s hands
how they held my mama tight.
And patted my back
for something done right.
There are things that I”d forgotten
that I loved about the man.
But I”ll always remember
the love in daddy”s hands.
Daddy”s hands were soft and kind
when I was cryin”.
Daddy”s hands were hard as steel
when I”d done wrong.
Daddy”s hands weren”t always gentle
but I”ve come to understand.
There was always love in daddy”s hands.
I remember daddy”s hands
workin” “til they bled.
Sacrificed unselfishly
just to keep us all fed.
If I could do things over,
I”d live my life again.
And never take for granted
the love in daddy”s hands.

Did I ever say thanks
for all the toys you mended,
games we played,
outings to the park,
and the way you
always tried to cheer
me when I was down?
Did I ever say thanks for
the sacrifices you made
so I could be involved
in so many enriching activities?
Did I ever say thanks for
working so hard
to provide for our family?
Did I ever say thanks
for having such faith in me
and always being there
when I needed you?
Most of all, Did I ever say thanks for caring?
DAD, I LOVE YOU

A halo that reflects a life of
wisdom, kindness,and caring.
Eyes that sparkle with pride
and show how much she believes in you.
Shoulders that have been slept on
and wept on and carried a world or two.
Arms that never run out of hugs.
Hands that know just when to hold on
and when to let go.
A mind filled with amazing things,
from fairy tales to family tails
and long-ago stories of you.
A smile that can jump right into your heart
and warm you faster than hot chocolate.
A heart of gold that holds more love
than you can possibly imagine.

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

A pillar of strength the pure meaning of Love
A Divine gift from our Lord up above
As gentle as rain on the petals of a rose
To kiss away fears and to hug away woes
A Doctor when tending a cold or a scrap
A Chef when making cookies or frosting a cake
A Tailor, A Chauffeur, A Fairy God Mother at times
But never to busy for a child”s nursery rhymes
A source of Wisdom that comes from inside
A Manager, A Book Keeper, and a Private Tour Guide
The one that knows just what to say
When a child is having a difficult day
The maker of dreams and the setter of goals
As a pile of laundry she sits and folds
When strange noises go bump in the night
It”s her loving hand that turns on the light
All things to family she feels she must be
Although her family may not see
In our Lord”s kingdom the one that will fare
Is the one we call Mother. No others compare!

Only one Mother, a lifetime through,
Though so many other things come by two.
The rainbows, the starlight, the beautiful things,
Each new tomorrow, another one brings.

Plenty of roses and sunsets and such,
Green grass and blue skies that still mean so much.
The sunshine of summer is waiting for you,
Another bright springtime when winter is through.

But only one Mother, God meant it this way,
That she should be special and dearer each day.
He took part of all in this world bright and real
And made them a part of the Mother ideal.

Do cherish this treasure, so precious and rare,
For she has a heart and is willing to share.
God”s greatest creation, more dear than all others;
All else comes in dozens, but only one Mother.
