Untitled

It was a chill November morning and  Bangaloreans could visualize instantly how pleasant and indulgent the mornings are in the Green Heavens( That’s how I call my city dearlyly)all round the year. What else would you call a city where every road is covered with huge Green canopies and even a small thatched house has a dozen pots of exotic plants. I have successfully pulled myself out for the long planned morning walk.  I jaunted  briskly enjoying everything that is happening around me. A city is full of life after dawn with all the hustle and bustle of the people rushing to school and office, the highway traffic, the beauty of the lush growth every now and then.

Suddenly I sensed that something is wrong. My nose is stuffy and eyes teary. I let out a  sudden explosion”Aachchooo….”. “Oh Noo! Not again!” I begged my nose to calm down. I pretended as if nothing has happened and tried to fool it. But my nasal system  was more unrelenting  and I started sneezing violently again and again with my eyes turning red and teary. My Nasalblastcount  woulde not be less than 20 and even shoots up to 40 at times  scaring my neighbours and those poor creatures who are nearby. It was resolute to spoil my beautiful morning walk.

Im at a loss to understand what triggers that crazy immune reaction called allergy – Natures blunder in designing our nasal protection system. I don’t get allergy during every walk or day. Allergies are our body’s mistaken hyperactive and overactive response to harmless particles by our  dumb immune system where it  mistakes it for a deadly organism and expels it violently out of the system. But how to enlighten our dumb Tcells to realize that it is just some harmless dust, pollen or Chilly smell and not some virus remains a mystery. When the allergy is very discomforting I just pop an antihistamine which controls the reactions. It is like silence after a storm or Tsunami. God damn my allergy!!http://www.clipartguide.com/_small/0008-0805-3012-5176.jpg

As  I login to Rediffiland one lazy noon  Im redirected to a different URL. My heart started racing and I am expecting the most inevitable fate. Im expelled and ambused from my good old Iland and planted in a new space as I see an alert that says that you are being migrated to the newblogspace. Suddenly I feel my wings fluttering  like a bird that is migrating to survive the winter from the polar regions.

I make an unexpected landing at http://blogs.rediff.com/rambleland/  Now I can get a clear picture of how my other friends Ant, Ekantapadhika and others would have felt when they were the foremost members to be shifted L

I do have to admit that it does feel Weird and lonely being here. Ieven  don’t know how many of my other friends have been transported here or  if all Ilands have been transformed into Rediffblogs!! INSIDE THE MIND OF A BLOGGER

Posting an old Blog which is one of my favourites. Skip it if you have already read it. If you are a fiend for blogging that too a prolific one , I gonna do some mind reading about you Depending upon how many facts I got right about you , you gotta pay the fee . You can send it in cash .Even cheques are accepted! ;-)

1. Whenever you are at your leisure or travelling, you are drafting blogs in your mind document, and if you are at home in the word document.

2. If you meditate you acutely suffer from the same chronic symptoms you are unconsciously and involuntarily drafting blogs!

3. You take inspiration for a blog from the recent book you read, an article that you liked in the newspaper, a sms that impressed you , a famous quote or from the scene that you witnessed on the roadside recently or a heated debate that you had with your family members or friends.

4. Anything under the sun triggers you and at the slightest nudge.. your creativity is awakened and there you have written a blog. The process of blogging has infiltrated through your blood and even pervaded and permeated into the cells of your heart and brain!!!

5. You love to be in the limelight in the blogland though you pretend to be not ;-)

6. One fine day you wake up and feel the nagging itch that you need to post something or anything on that day come what may!

7. You feel lonesome due to a spouse being busy with career or you stay away from your family. ( Nothing wards off loneliness and busts the stress like IlandingJ ) Researchers have come up with proof that blogging is indeed a Stress buster! So wander in the blue yonder and indulge yourselfJ

8. You don't have many friends in real living nearby whom you meet regularly.(True in my case) So you reach out to your blogmates.

9. You have a monotonous or stressful work routine.(Blogging and ilanding adds some spice to your otherwise dull life)

10. You start with blogging, reading blogs and commenting. Slowly you are sucked into the blackhole in a whirl by spending more and more time online ignoring other chores and real life friends.

11. Even when you are offline you keep wondering if someone have commented on your newly posted blog or if your friends have posted any new blogs. The symptoms are severe if you are new here or aat your leisure or alone.

12. Eventually the initial excitement and addiction fades away and you enter the slowdown phase where you kind of stabilize and restrict your time spent on ilanding and finally successful in the process! It makes you feel good. Congrats Ilander! Keep Rocking!

I don't know about you buddies but many of the above factors are true in my case.(Not all!!) I am more of a passive observer in Iland and I have shared with you all that I went through and about those whom I have observed in iland(Any takers for this short thesis on Iland?;-) ) in my two years of Ilanding. Wow! It is going to be three years! Great Going ! By the way I love BloggingJ

Impossible Ingredient!

It was a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon. Sunday - The day which makes everyone  wish that it would prolong the whole week ;-) The day one deserves some special food to indulge our taste buds with. After all the washing, chopping, slicing, grinding, frying and  running around for a couple of hours I had finished cooking everyone’s favourite - Biriyani! One of the most tastiest  dishes from our part of the world. The spicy aroma of biriyani was so enticing and inviting even those who were on the road! People could easily tell what was on our Menu even from across the road and obviously we  just can’t wait for lunch. Tasting the steaming Biriyani all were asking me the secret of today’s menu if I had added anything new. I was glowing like a prize winner and relishing the biriyani.

Suddenly  I found something shiny peeping out from  the rice. As I fished it out carefully to my horror I found that it was my new mixier’ blade. Unfortunately what I found was also looked at by all the members of the family. It had loosened and seperated from the jar and had cleverly hidden itself by camouflaging itself with the colour of the Pudhina masala. I had added it to the biriyani along with the masala paste. Im damn sure it would have felt like the odd one out and pretty lonely inside the biriyani. As I mumbled and fumbled all of them burst into laughter  that  the blade was the secret of unique flavour of the dish. Im sure that this will remain in their damn memory for long time to come . Hubby asked the  pretty embarrased and stupefied me about what weird ingredients I am planning to add in the future. I quipped nothing but the knife, peeler and few other small cutlery depending upon my whims and fancies;-)

The New you!

Unsolicited does it knock

Appears fleetingly initially

Engulfs all over slowly

Fills in  the heart

Encompassing body, mind and soul

Laying a seige on the whole

Enveloping each and every moment

Sneaking into every part

Surreal and sublimely

It wins over you truimphantly

There you lay totally swept off

It is not you but the New You!

EXTROVERSIVE Vs INTROVERSIVE

I have always wondered how some people are so outgoing and gregarious while some are so contented with themselves in their own shell with minimal interaction with others. I have friends and cousins who belong to both the personality types and Im astonished at the difference in their behaviour. When they are extreme extroverts or introverts it is all the more amazing to view the contrast. The degree of extroversion is one of the prominent traits that defines a person’s personality. What makes a person extroversive or introversive has always puzzling .

Science explains that it is a predetermined genetic disposition to be an introvert or extrovert. Extroverts get some feel good chemicals when they interact with people which gratifies them. The brains of introverts themselves produce such feel good chemicals which does not need them to reach out to others.
Introverts are not dependant on stimulation from others for excitement and happiness. Rather their own thoughts are stimulating enough for them and they dwell blissfully in their own world of thoughts and emotions! They spend time alone rather by choice and not because of stereotypical shyness. They can’t carry out small , trivial talks for fun. Rather they discuss serious topics on life and their domain in depth. Introverts enjoy all sorts of solitary activities like reading, writing creating artworks etc
Extroverts gets bored soon without company. They savour the time spend with other people and try to chose jobs that involves meeting people and communicating. Extroverts are highly receptive and tuned-in with their environment, are naturally responsive with people and can almost talk about anything under the sun.Extroverts can be easier to get to know than introverts because they’re more open with their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. No wonder extroversive people are great fun to be with and also great entertainers wherever they are! They are the live wires capturing attention and stealing hearts.
When persons who have the opposite traits marry each other it is the Extroversive person who has to always take the lead in initiating a conversation or interaction most of the times. At times it is bound to create a friction. It is frustrating on the part of the extroversive spouse as to why it is him who has to always take the initiative. Conversely the introversive spouse might get annoyed at why there has to be conversation all the time and feels pressurised to open up or talk more which is against his natural tendencies! He feels his harmony is disturbed.
We find the extroverts of the Virtual Era Orkutting and Smsing nonstop and frantically staying connected with people round the globe round the clock. At times it makes me baffled as to how they could stay in touch with a whole lot of people(100+ friends!!) all the time and what is the need for it in the first place! It would take the focus out of important activies like quality time for the family, keeping oneself fit and healthy, enjoying hobby activies ,growing spiritually and learning new things!

Part of Life!

Today morning I tried to login to my iland. It took a loooooooong time to load my iland and other ilands as well. I was waiting patiently for the progress bar to move but it was dead slow. Damn! My virtue of patience was withering slowly and steadily. I try to branch to another iland fretfully. The same story repeats itself. Suddenly a great Enlightenment dawned on me!! Just like Buddha had under the Bodhi Tree!! What is that I am going to achieve by always hanging around on Iland? Why the silly sense of attachment as if it is my home? Why sticking to Iland all the time when there are a whole world of portals of blogging and loads and loads of entertainment available on the Net?

Afterall it is a pitfall on my part hanging out in this place too much :-( As Rediffiland.com is too slow nowadays I envisaged the following wisely….
1.By reading blogs all the time Im missing out on all the other interesting websites and entertainments on net.
2. Most Blogs are amateur writings. Reading amateur writing all the time is not going to do any good to my language and vocabulary skills. I need to read more of famous books and bestsellers.
3. Many fab bloggers and most of my friends are not active any more. Probably they had a burnout out of too much blogging and Ilanding
4. Many Ilanders have been frustrated by Array’s arrogant invasions and have switched over to other blogspaces or even have created their own blogspaces.
I calmed down and consoled myself that it is alright even if I’m not able to do Ilanding today. As I finished typing this blog I notice that my finger involuntarily kept refreshing the page to load Rediffiland ;-) Certain things in life cannot be changed. Its all part of life!!!

Fish out of Water!

The fish always swam around happily in the Ocean. It Just loved to be in the water. It waded and glided into every nook and corner of the ocean and was exploring it. There were no bounds and sky was the limit!! Life was vibrant and eventful. Friends came to meet the fish all the while. All of a sudden One day it was expelled from the water unexpectedly. It was gasping for breath. Life turned out to be hard. The fish had to take a plunge into water at regular intervals for survival. Whenever it was in some waterbody it felt at home. It mutated and metamorphized into an amphibian existence on and off water. It was yearning to be restored to its home soon one day. It was living in the fond memories of its vibrant life at the ocean. There was never a dull moment at the Blue Yonder. It was taking the steps necessary measures for it. No stone was left unturned. Slowly the day was nearing when it could be fondly united with the good old ocean - its home.

At dawn and fish found itself being lowered into the cool soothing waters of the waves gently. The long awaited moment and was filled with excitement and happiness. It was one of the memorable moments in its life! The jubilant creature jumped high and dived into the water merrily. The fish was whistling its favourite tune and dancing around. The whole day was merry making. It was glad to be reunited with its buddies. It submerged deep and rested on the cosy crevice which was its home . Atlast it was a great comeback!!

The above Fish mentioned is none other than me;-) The Ocean is a simile to the Virtual world!! I was forced to live offline as my Laptop switched itself off and went deep into slumberland. It played pranks like a mischievious guy. We tried all sorts of desperate Troubleshooting and atlast handed it to the authorised people. In the meanwhile I was hot under the collar visiting nearby netcafe to stay in touch with the my buddies and saunter around the virtual world. The impatient wait is atlast over and my Laptop is back. What is life without googling, chatting and reading blogs huh? Fish is happily back into the water and hope it lives happily everafter!!

P.S. I am not so hooked to net . Just a bit of exaggeration here and fabrication there! ;-)

Ramblings Reposted

Just reposting my One year old blog Ramblings . These are times of Recession and creativity drought ;-) Now you gonna bear the brunt!

With my previous ramblings largely appreciated by friends undeterred possessing great patience and tolerance, I dare ramble further my musings on iland.

How good is a blog? Does any Parameters exist that could be considered to decide the might of a blog! Is there a blogometer? Even if one is invented it might be tampered like our autometers! Now what decides the quality of a blog and who decides that? Usually the number of comments is considered a yardstick to decide how good a post is. But somehow I don’t go with it. The more active you are on iland the more comments you get. As you keep visiting more ilands your friends in turn visit your iland out of curiosity or courtesy or maybe tit for tat and your blog naturally gets more comments. But ilanders who are not very active and social but post great writeups and poems get just a handful of comments. Doesn’t mean that their blog is not up to the mark It is just that there are not many hits in their pages. I presume my posts that received hardly a few comments fit into this category (pun intended lols)

Now I wonder what is up to the mark !I don't think there is any such thing on blogland. Blogging is just penning down thoughts and feelingsand posting anything to everything..As we pour ourself into words it certainly gives a pleasure .creativity!! I don't talk about bloggers who are quite professional and adept in their writeups! I am talking about me kinda people!!

Some are so prolilfic in blogging and so active going on a gb posting spree on iland leaves me wondering

1.Whether iland is there home as they seem to lounge here all the day

2.Whether they get any income under the cover for ilanding round the clock

3. Whether they brush, bathe, eat and sleep leave alonoe going for work

4. Whether their boss has gone on a long leave

5. If the poor guys were laid off by their companies

6. Or fired by the companies for spending all the productive hours blogging and chatting

7. Or have they gone totally crazy!!

Now its all purely for fun and no offence intended on any ilanders or my dear friends over here;) Even I too hang out for long in virtual space during leisure though not regularly. Blogging gives the anonymity to express thoughts daringly minus inhibition which would not have been expressed at all in real many a time. All the leg pulling doing the rounds in gbs itself boasts of great wits and creativity!! Gbs are sms that you can post without being charged. It will put all the leading mobile networks to shame. But the serious lot convert gbs into forums of serious discussions and exchange of thoughts. I kinda stay away from such exchanges mostly though I try to pretend to be into serious discussions at times. Being an ilander and having our own isle here gives us sense of belonging! Ilanding is fun and one of the best friendship networks though it is addictive..Wanna Deaddicted?(Though I know that the answer would be a big NOO) It is possible only by more ilanding!!

Tribute to The

As the reports about MJ's health keep flowing in from the media about the bruises and the needle pokes all over his body that leaves me wondering about what kind of life the King of Pop was leading!! His autopsy report reaveals that he barely had one meal a day and he had just pills and sedatives in his stomach. That is pathetic. Even a poor labourer works hard all day and havs atleast two decent meals a day. It appears that he was afraid of putting on weight and was starving. Anorexic!! Being abused by his father as a child seems to have taken a toll on him.

What a huge success he was in the Music realm that there is no one who would dispute his skill or fame. In spite of everything he never seemed to have had a peaceful life. He was living like a being caged in a Diamond studded Platinum Cage!! Micheal Jackson's Quote ' " People think they know me, but they don`t. Not really. Actually, I am one of the loneliest people on this earth. I cry sometimes, because it hurts. It does. To be honest, I guess you could say that it hurts to be me." says volumes about the life the legend was living. He was clouded by insomnia, anxiety, anorexia and debts. He was pushed way too much for rehearsing for his upcoming London events. MJ was supposedly begging for Sedatives. He had subjected his face to the knife to change most of his facial features. The billions of billion dollars and the irrefutable and incredible fame and fanfollowing din't render him the peace, happiness and health in his life.

Now it is for us to imbibe on his life and figure out  the Moral of the Story. As a couple of billions of his fans gather for his memorial today I just pray that let this soul atlast rest in peace.
