Too much of everything!

Sms-es dropping in now and then, mail box flooded with fwds and newsletters, An ocean of websites, IM messages beeping in, hundreds of channels on the air, breaking news flashed now and then..What an Information overload round the clock. Looks like the world never sleeps.. The t.v, the net, the radio, the AC, the lights looks like the everything is going on and on!! With Blogging everyone has the privilege to dash their thoughts on portals.

Mostly whatever we write seems to be an altered reproduction of something we read somewhere. It is more likely we might have picked up the idea from a book or a content writeup or a blog or a webportal. Though it might not be an exact replica of what we read there might be the slightest impact. Be it a Poem or funny ex-pressions… A similar ex-pression exists elsewhere and it astounds you when you come across a writeup which is very similar to yours. We also write some original ideas and narrate incidents .It is incredible how the global village has shrunk! The loads of information available at just a click of our fingertip is In a way it is exciting and exhilarating. There is never a dull moment when you are alone .At times it makes us weary. There is too much of everything.

I came to know recently that there are creative article generating software that can write you an expert essay on any keywords you type!! It creates articles in a matter of minutes!! The article is formulated using totaly unique content from various sources. And you get the exact address for every different resource.

. By using it not only will we look like a complete professional in what ever category we choose, but the software will constantly create different articles.;-) You can type in the exact same keyword a week later, and the software give you a brand new, updated version of the article. Now that many a times I run out of ideas to blog I am contemplating installing one such blog generator for me and post blogs created by that software periodically. (Oops! I shouldnt have shared this secret here in the first place ;-) )Me becoming a popular blogger is not very far. lols

Breaking the longish Hiatus

Away from Iland for 3 months, I did lots of travelling and vacationing . Once in a while I did ilanding in a whirl. I set my silent footfalls on a few ilands. Total absistence from Iland is next to impossible. Vacation ka bhooth kept me busy with my two sweet devils. Did you ever consider girls as Docile beings? My little daughter will prove wrong!! They are livewires beaming with highenergy levels. Running around to Summer camps and entertaining them in every possible way was no easy task. I needed all my energy to keep pace with them. So I wasn’t online much. But  My dear Iland and Iland friends were in my thoughts and I missed Ilanding.

I am back on Iland. But I find a lull in Iland with many popular  ilanders turning dormant with or without a note. Many  appear to  be switching over to other blogspaces. Even the Rediff Team appears to Play the Rip Van winkle as the Blogomaniac or the names on the homepage or no more updated. A few ilanders on the move turn out to be pages which are technically extinct. Whether my perspective is right or wrong I will come to know in due course. Once again I will encapsulate blogging into my routine and make it a customary activity :-) Of course it is irresistible to those who have indulged in it !!

Thanks to all the friends who missed me and left me gbs in the meanwhile. I henceforth declare my Rambleland active again ;-) ( It has gone a little bit too  dramatic huh? :))) Can’t help it. Me is watching too much t.v. nowadays )  Hii and Cheers to all my buddies. Catch your blogs soon!!

Innovative CostCutting !

Living in the days of involuntary attrition (euphemism for "ruthless layoffs")  paycuts, vanishing perks, increments, promotions and withdrawal of facilities which the professionals enjoyed for almost a decade by Professionals in MNCs

The companies are eyeing and spying on the guys to list the next group of scapegoats to be laid off. So even guys who were just going to office all these days have started to WORK for real! Some don't even complain if they are made to work on weekends fearing the axe. Such is the anxiety and uncertainty!!

Hope This Blog doesn't get  into sight of  IT companies. Else they would immediately implement my funny contemplations !! Innovation is the key to survival ain’t it? ;-)If the current economic climate continues, the Software Companies might .

1.Arrange for conveyance  through Tongas and bullock carts claiming they are environ friendly. It would spare the expenses to be paid for the shuttles and Cabs.

2.     If the Techies still insist on bus transport, they would be made to alight a few kms away from their stop. This would save fuel expense for the company apart from keeping them healthy which means reduced medical expenses.

3.     Already travelling abroad  have been drastically reduced. Even if they need to travel they might be made to go overseas on a ship. Think of the lakhs of rupees saved.( Who cares if they suffer from  sea sickness anyway!)

4.     State that Coffees and Teas are not good for health. So the diluted version of the desi buttermilk might be served.( An effective cost cutting measure huh?)

5.      Their  Posh, multi storeyed, architectural marvels -  Office Premises might be shrunk to just one floor of office where they can be seated together. Why waste the space for individual cubicles! Rest of the huge office premises might be rented out  as Marriage mantaps!( Do you need your monthly pay or not?)

6.     Every year the company gifts Tshirts or Jackets with the Company's name printed on them. This year they would be replaced by humble  Hankies, Towels or Socks with the  names of the MNCs!(Bear with this. You have more in waiting folks ;-))

7.     If they blog or surf for Katrina Kaif or watch ODI from Office internet, a nominal charge may be collected from them just like a cybercafe.

8.     The ACs might  be turned off beyond 9 ' 5 . After that water sprinklers may be fitted to cool the employe's body and temper.

9.     If the employees stayback beyond their timings just for timepass, they might be handed over the  powerbill for operating  the lights, fans and the PC.

10.                         No wonder if Cctvs are  fitted  in every nook and corner to ensure if the employees are not hoodwinking. Even if you don't work you are doomed  atleast to pretend toL

11.                         All the Office Parties and get togethers which where once held in prestigious resorts will be soon shifted to local chaat shops or fast food joints!

12.                        The Office LPs and other equipments might be rented out for some extra income.

Hard times for the Software People. Once they end up losing their job I wonder if they would restart their family business like becoming a Grocer or Shoemaker or Blacksmith. Need to harness my imagination that is running recklessly.

People are turning  paranoid about any paper or even clothes Pink in colour!  IT friends don't kill me! Just an attempt at Humour during these bad times

Academic Woes

After my Mind Reading Blog people seem to be wary of my eerie skill. Chill down buddies! Now I'm disabled of my mind reading powers and now Im no more than  just a normal blogger like you! ( Extra ordinary bloggers please excuse ;)

As the exam fever is catching up everywhere, the children heading for their board exams are threatened by one and all as if it is a life or death battle! Excel in your exams or just perish into oblivion seems the untold norm and the tremendous stress they undergo poor kids! They behave as if  less percentage means an end to their career and finally their life.  No t.v., no games, no outings, no movies, no recreational trips just STUDY, STUDY AND STUDY!! All this grinding starts right from the special classes on the previous year's summer vacation and goes on and on till the D-day! The only vocabulary of these pathetic kids  are special classes, tuition centers, old question papers, revision tests, mark-oriented, pursue your percentage Wish I could go and say "Even If you don't cross the magical 90% still a world of opportunities are open to you all!"

Now coming to the curriculum of my daughter in  Kindergarden

1.     Needs to write cursive writing as perfect as an adult!! Even I'm not as good as her in Cursive Writing!!L.

2.     She has to learn and write the  Hindi scripts(Second language).

3.     Her school has added to the burden by making them learn and write the  Kannada scripts too which is the Third Language!  All this at the tender age of 5 !! Why not start it a couple of years later?

There is'nt much coordination between the fingers at 5 years. It is the age  when they are supposed to Play more and Write less. They should be given more drawing, coloring ,cutting and pasting work to improve finger co ordination. In addition there is always  the homework that needs to be completed. I feel so sorry for her. In our days we  learnt Cursive writing and writing second language at a  much later stage.

I don't  know why the kids are being pushed way too much.It is like fast forwarding their age and childhood! What is the hurry in making them write at such an early age. Why the meaningless haste? I am just afraid that  this drudgery inappropriate for their age  would  create an aversion towards  studies! The curriculum makers should give a second thought and Schools should have an open forum where parents can emphasize their views about the syllabus! Just remaining optimistic…

INSIDE THE MIND OF A BLOGGER..

If you are a fiend for blogging that too a prolific one , I gonna do some mind reading about you Depending upon how many facts I got right about you , you gotta pay the fee . You can send it in cash .Even cheques are accepted! ;-)

1. Whenever you are at your leisure or travelling, you are drafting blogs in your mind document, and if you are at home in the word document.

2. If you meditate you acutely suffer from the same chronic symptoms you are unconsciously and involuntarily drafting blogs!

3. You take inspiration for a blog from the recent book you read, an article that you liked in the newspaper, a sms that impressed you , a famous quote or from the scene that you witnessed on the roadside recently or a heated debate that you had with your family members or friends.

4. Anything under the sun triggers you and at the slightest trigger.. your creativity is awakened and there you have written a blog. The process of blogging has infiltrated through your blood and even pervaded and permeated into the cells of your heart and brain!!!

5. You love to be in the limelight in the blogland though you pretend to be not ;-)

6. One fine day you wake up and feel the nagging itch that you need to post something or anything on that day come what may!

7. You feel lonesome due to a spouse being busy with career or you stay away from your family. ( Nothing wards off loneliness and busts the stress like IlandingJ ) Researchers have come up with proof that blogging is indeed a Stress buster! So wander in the blue yonder and indulge yourselfJ

8. You don't have many friends in real living nearby whom you meet regularly.(True in my case) So you reach out to your blogmates.

9. You have a monotonous or stressful work routine.(Blogging and ilanding adds some spice to your otherwise dull life)

10. You start with blogging, reading blogs and commenting. Slowly you are sucked into the blackhole in a whirl by spending more and more time online ignoring other chores and real life friends.

11. Even when you are offline you keep wondering if someone have commented on your newly posted blog or if your friends have posted any new blogs. The symptoms are severe if you are at your leisure or alone.

12. Eventually the initial excitement and addiction fades away and you enter the slowdown phase where you kind of stabilize and restrict your time spent on ilanding and finally successful in the process! It makes you feel good. Congrats Ilander! Keep Rocking!

I don't know about you buddies but many of the above factors are true in my case.(Not all!!) I am more of a passive observer in Iland and I have shared with you all that I went through and those that I have observed in ilanders(Any takers for this short thesis on Iland?;-) ) in my two years of Ilanding. Wow! It is going to be two years! Great Going ! By the way I love BloggingJ

Stop….smell the Roses!

"Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have. Enjoy every bit. Be happy and make others happy".

Reading this sms I am awestruck at what a startling fact of life it reveals in short and simple words! We come across lots of people who have many blessings their way yet fail to appreciate it even a bit. They just take it for granted and keep grumbling about all that they don't possess or haven't acquired yet. Could such people ever attain happiness I keep wondering.

A friend of ,mine living in Silicon Valley remains very unhappy that the IT firm he works with doesn't give shares to its employees inspite of earning a huge sum and having purchased his own house. With such an attitude what is the use of all that they possess good looks, loving family, sweet and intelligent kids, great friends ! When we fail to appreciate what we have they are as good as they are non existent.

When a person toils over the years, burns midnight oil and achieves his goal but bask in the glow of his achievement only fleetingly and hurries to work towards his next goal he fails to experience the experience. They never appreciate their accompolishment fully. They never give a look back at their life. Such people make me wonder if they are humans or Robots! Maybe they are being workaholic or whatever I am really averse to see this mindless lot running all the time running after money, running after success in their career, running after power.

They overlook all the beauty of the life.I wish they just stopped a moment in their life, look around them and admire the world around them. Also enjoy all that they have achieved in their life thoroughly. "Life can be a celebration only if we take time to celebrate". Start from admiring the simple breeze that passes in through the window, the warm sunrays early in the morning, the cute picture your tinytot scribbled, the delicious food your loved one prepared for you, the warmth of holding hands We can easily miss the tiny details of awe and beauty around us easily due to the mundaneness. Our daily routine desensitizes us and we become habituated instead of being attentive. Be aware and live life to the fullest! We pass this way only once and each of us and our life is unique. So before you go, just stop Smell the Roses J

TagBug!

“Here a Tag There a Tag Everywhere a Tag…”:) Now that the Tag bug has infested the iland I guess I have no other go but giving up. Heres one more Tag on Iland. Everytime I get Tagged I am optimistic that it would be the last and invariably a new one surfaces and honestly its interesting to know a lil more about our friends!! Hmmm..seems to be a benign conspiracy hatched up by friends to get to know a little more about their buddies.

1.     If your lover betrayed you what would your reaction be?

Will be in a bitter state. Will take a while to pull myself together.

2.If you could have one dream come true which one would it be?

Dreams are personal. If u still wanna know it .. still you are not going to know it.

3.Is there any person, at whose face you wanted to throw your   slippers/sandals/shoes at?

Not even in my wildest of dreams!

4What would you do with a billion dollars?

Would pay the 30% tax grudgingly hahaha. Now you stop asking such questions and stop kidding !

5.Will you fall in love with your best friend?

         We  do love our friends.

6. Which is more blessed: loving someone or being loved by someone?

Being loved by someone feels like being on the top of the world!  Loving  someone is a pleasure too.  Its more selfless.

7. How long would you wait for someone you love?

All my life!! But the one I love would never make me wait.

8. If the person you like finds someone better than you, what would you do?

Scroll up. Read No.1. Im too lazy to repeat answers. It took so long for me to Tagalong .Guess Im the last on iland to post  the Tagpost lols

9. If you could root for one social cause which one would it be?

Eradication of poverty and uneven distribution of wealth ' the greatest social evil. It can be done by providing free education to all the underpriveliged kids.

10. What takes you down the fastest?

Elevator and gravity comes to my mind instantaneously but you are likely to call me copycat J So trying to come up with another answer er mm..yeah sleep!!! It takes me down to bed the fastest.

11. Would you like to have the job you love or love the job you have?

Would like to have the job I love till then Im happy the other way!

12. Darna mana hai… But what is the thing that you fear most?

My loved ones being upset with me.

13. What kind of person(s) do you think the person who tagged you is/are?

Moe - The greatest Friend on Iland is a Synonym for the word FRIEND. Very Witty and abounds in humour and Goodwill.

Mona ' She is Moe No.2 for the way she spread smiles across the iland  like wildfire and the amazing number of friends she has made!

Meena -  She is so warm, sweet and sincere

A lot many people she inspires!

Amiya ' A Warm friend and sincere person. Thanks for the jokes you share with us and the useful info. U keep sharing too.

Sandeep Ohri ' Barely an acquaintance who surprised me by Tagging me!  Writes to the point in a crisp manner.

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?

Objective type Q& A! Why cant there be better options? By the way who set such weird questions? Any idea anyone??

15. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Calculate how long I can dwell more in the cosy bed!

16. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously who would you pick?

Falling in love with two people? I am not crazy!

17. Would you give all in a relationship?

      By all means.

18. What’s eating you now?

Certainly not any termites, mosquitoes or wild animals. Those who Tagged me got to bear with this and a little more too.Keep reading ;-)

19. Do you think there are more Tags going to crop up?

No! I feel we will live peacefully ever after answering this!!J

P.S. I always google for pictures to post alongwith my blogs. But the one that I posted now happens to be the Tag of a Dog. But as long as it is a Tag hope it is not outta context. Please bear with it ;)

Dreams…

Day after Day

Dreams and fantasies

Incubating and accumulating

That will remain unfulfilled

Words and feelings

That never  will materialize

Happiness and excitement

Ectasy and euphoria

Engulfs the being

Slowly  the reality dawns

To comprehend that

All is nothing

But just  dreams or

Rather a dream within a dream

Yet the most beautiful dream

And Blissful existence!!

NeverEnding Homehunting!

Just reposting an old blog that is more than a year old! As I am suffering from Blogger’s block and desperately searching for new ideas to blog, the readers please bear with this in the meantime ;-) A blog on humour……not a bad start in the New Year !
“Yaarum maanidarey illaadha idathil siru veedu katti kolla thondrum…..”
The lyrics of a superhit song in Tamil “Paartha mudhal naaley….” goes on like this…
(Meaning: We will live together in a uninhabited land forever my love….)
As I hear these lines from the movie “Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu” invariably it brings back to my memory all the unpalatable events that we encountered few months back as we drove around the city on the hunt for a property for purchase. I remember these lines as many of the apartments advertised by the builders are actually located in uninhabited places away from the city. I was buried in bundles of admags and freeads with an irrational hope that we would end up with a fair deal and was also enquiring real estate agents in all localities in south Bangalore for availability of property.I din’t spare any single realtor in our locality .Real estate offices were my hangout places where I chilled out in my leisure!
As I was going through the numerous property ads in newspapers we came across Unique ads for the upcoming apartments. They made tall claims. Here goes the fancy allegations in those ads….
WORLD CLASS LIVING
Now refrain from asking which world. It might be even hell ;)
AN APARTMENT NAME YOU HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD OF( CHOOSE A NAME THAT BAFFLES FOLKS BY ALL MEANS INCLUDING MEANING AND ORIGIN)
For instance,ARCADIA , ZION , If u choose a French or Latin or Greek name the better. Innocent ,Poor folks are likely to get overwhelmed that they are going to live in an exotic HiFi Home!
LOCATED AT POST LOCALITY
Read here situated close to slum and garbage dumping site
JUST 20 MINS FROM THE CITY JUNCTION
As we go on a onsite visit to the proposed location guys would not even have dreamt in their wildest imaginations that the 20 minutes distance mentioned can only be achieved by flying in a chopper or a private chartered aircraft if you possess one yourself! Hence the site would be the actual time multiplied by 3 or 4 as claimed by the builders.
And now this is for the novice or newcomers in search of property:
Open your eyes wide and sharpen your ears for the below stated seeimingly innocuous keywords in the advertisements on Newspapers or in sites on the net.
1. FAR FROM THE POLLUTION AND NOISE OF CITYLIFE
(Hidden meaning: The site is really far away from the city, so forget living in the city U dumbo.
2. A JOGGING TRACK. A LANDSCAPE GARDEN, A LUSHLAWN
( Hidden meaning : You are going to live in the woods surrounded by wild animals and trees only.Where on earth could u buy land for constructing a Jogging track within city limits. Go sharpen your grey matter.
3.SWIMMING POOL
(Hidden meaning: If it is a budget apartment the pool is likely to be a little larger than your bathtub and you can get youself wet partially by squirming into it with difficulty along with your neighbours. Sounds weird huh? This is the price we have to pay for living in a Cosmopolitan turned Metropolitan .
4. GYM FACILITIES
(Hidden meaning: There is might or might not be an empty room in the front of your building. Do u dream of working out for this money? Yes! Keep Dreaming!!
As we drove around the city on a househunt we slowly realized that the realtors tall claims turned out to be clever exaggerations and sometimes even plain lies. And we turned to be an enlightened lot. We were slowly getting annoyed and tired with our endless search and our weekends in vain.Either the house or apartment was unreasonably high or it was located far away from the city .The apartments appeared to my eyes like huge stacks of matchboxes waiting to crumble! With the skyrocketing real estate prices the dream of owning a house has become a distant dream for the middleclass. One day my daughter was pretending to be driving seriously in her toy car , I asked where she is going? She surely astomished me with her reply that she was going to see a few apartments. She gave us a few good laughs and some lighter moments.I also realized how much we have get caught deep into this homehunting .
Atlast our search ended fruitfully few months back with our purchase of a land in Bangalore. And there was certainly light at the end of the tunnel !:-) Still I keep chuckling on seeing the various hoardings around the City blah-blahing.
