Based in Dubai, I had a proud feeling that I am based in the most dynamic part of the world….economic hotspot…with an affinity for the superlatives..Last 4 years has been an unbelievable boom in the Retail Market with Shopping Malls….arcades…mushrooming every nooks and corners !!!
My participation in the recent Retail Forum in Rennaissance, Powai on September 8 th….gave me a jolt….feeling the vibrancy ….I believe it is just the tip of the iceberg…India is booming and the positive energy which has rubbed off to me has made me restructure my business plans….
Hopefully, if all goes well, I will be launching up in India, by Jan 2007…………
It will be a pleasure to touch base with like minded persons based in India…..and any guidance or suggestions will be of great help !!!

I myself handle Modern Trade business for an FMCG company and the sheer pace at which the retail is growing makes it amongst the most exciting industries around.
Everyday, 1 new chain - I have to close a deal with.However, I will just make aware of 1 thing.
Employee turnover in retail is very high and second its ability to attract good talent in middle mgmt still remains dicey.
Good people are kind of waiting for it to evolve more.
Were you there at Dubai, when the retail was at such a stage, as it is in India at the moment.
