Robin Hood steals it for Bangalore!

http://im.rediff.com/cricket/2010/mar/23uthappa.jpg It was like reliving Robin Hood from the fairytales we used to hear as small kids.

Robin Hood as everyone knew was famous for “robbing the rich and giving it to the poor”.

And it would not be surprising if Chennai Super Kings felt that Robin Uthappa did something similar to them. After all, it was just in the space of two overs that Uthappa turned the match on it’s head and left Chennai wondering ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aaya Hai Woh’!!!!!!!

Uthappa’s mind-blowing knock of 68 from 38 balls saw him change the match in just two overs. Chennai had done well to restrict Bangalore Royal Challengers to 130 for five after 18 overs but all their plans went haywire once Uthappa went ballistic.

He launched into Lakshmipathy Balaji, carting him for a boundary and a hat-trick of sixes in the 19th over to get 24 runs from that over. The final over from R Ashwin fetched another 17 runs with Uthappa hitting another big six as Bangalore all of a sudden had reached to a healthy 171 for five in their 20 overs on a pitch where the fast bowlers were getting some assistance.

With Matthew Hayden not able to reproduce his Mongoose magic, Chennai didn’t even threaten Bangalore.

Anil Kumble was miserly as ever, claiming one for 15, while Vinay Kumar claimed four for 40.

In the end, Chennai were comprehensively outplayed as they finished on 135 for seven to lose by 36 runs.

Having suffered two losses in a row, Chennai’s fans might now be calling out ‘Mahi Ve! Mahi Ve!’ After all, their inspirational skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is being sorely missed.
