                  Songs of Innocence and…

Wandering and reckless,

Patterns missing,

A sign of insolence,

Crept into,

Chilling spine,

Icing exuberance.

Looking at the sky,

I had a premonition,

Dark and thunderous,

Clouds would burst,

Raining fire and wrath.

Around soft petals

Thorns prominent,

Dark was the humour,

The little girl

A bundle of curves,

Smiles weird,

Avarice and greed

Reigned emotion,

Sentiments  meandering,

A bird misnomer,

Flirtatious colours,

Reigned supreme.

The wound deep,

Cut into soil,

Mad and furious,

The soul's logic,

Forwarded innocence,

To  death's chamber

Left there, never regained,

Dry leaves,

Arid sky,

Artful lies,

Deceit and masks

Rule the heart.

End of seasons,

And the knell,

Signalling  it is no more,

And never again,

Shaken innocence,

Death of a child,

Guileless rectitude,

And innocence.

                                 Songs of Innocence-5

      The little kind giant,

Taught me to walk the grass,

       Hold the air,

 Handful and cold.

 Touch the flower,

 And sunshine

 And be lost,

 Among the birds and bees.

 The little kind giant,

 A company and friend!

 Asked me,
 To defy the rains

 And thunder,

 Swim the stream,

 Cross the barrage,

 And be lost,

 In the pines,

 With the swift hare,

 To land unknown,

 Unheard dear.

  The little kind giant,

  A buddy in the ring,

  Asked me to feign,

  A feeble heart,

  Struck with lightening,

  Shattered by storm.

  I flirted,

  Mother dear,

  Held me close,

  Gave me a long hug,

  Her eyes wet.

   The little soul mischievous,

   Laughed aloud,

   Crawled back,

   To the deep blue,

   I thought,

   He is there

          In the grass flower,

   And feathers of snow.

   He would come,

   If I call,

   And sigh

   Eager.

          Songs of Innocence-4

  In the gaping hole,

  Of earth's clutter,

  I looked for

  A butterfly,

  Red, blue and brown,

  Lost from ages,

  In the dark bunker,

  Earth's core.

   In the deep abyss,

   And  coral bed,

   The whale and algae,

Joined together,

   To probe the sea.

   Sails high,

   I was in the sea,

   Wilted yet fastened anchor,

Had a dream to cover the tide,

   Reach the coast,

   Gather ruby,

   Save emerald ,

   Fight  rosmarine.

   Those were the days,

   I made a friend,

   A little giant,

   Kind and grey,

   Skipped the clouds,

   Hid in the moon,

   A white rabbit,

   Lost for ages.

   A child's cry,

   Dazed dribble ,

   Unheard and

   Unknown

   Melt in the air,

   Washed in the rain.

   He lost his friend,

   Ages back,

   Never to return,

   Gone forever.

Growing up,

Under the sun,

In rains,

The silver feather of autumn dew,

Invited me to a joy walk,

To welcome winter,

Play along breeze,

Spring's' messenger,

Red and yellow,

Violet bright.

The flower bed,

White and crimson,

Dotted the earth,

Brown metal.

A welcome note,

From distant grooves,

Signed union,

A spark together.

Tapered fancy,

In a trapezium,

To find the rabbit,

Holed up in the grass,

Green and furrowed.

I had a try,

To hold the fur,

Ski down the waves,

Trail the star.

Days I wished,

Move in a roll,

Glued and pristine,

A moment serene,

A happy rendezvous,

In constant company.

In deep woods,

In sombre silence

I had a dream,

To walk the moon,

TO play the fire,

And'' be' lost' in the clouds.

Delayed' rain drops washed me,

I' thought 'a 'wonder.

Rain from the clouds dense,

Rainbows in the distant sky,

Birds' note, lion's roar,

yellow, red and violet flowers,

Horizon dotted with green and blue,

A' joy , unknown before,

Like a flash,

Filled and 'skipped.

From the hills,

A'young buck,

Jumped 'to the air.

Humming a tune,

Sweet and plaintive,

Had a truce,

With hunters and shepherds,

To move and wander,

A'' nomad,

In quest of the brook,

And savour its murmur.

Drifting and thrilled'

I saw a face,

Smiling on the moon,

Soft and white

Inviting to suit,

And woo.

I woke up,

Withering dreams,

A' bugle' call,

Time to move,

Time to hunt,

And spread a smile.

                                                                  Songs of innocence (1)

Why do I sing sad songs,

               Rhyming melodies

               Of deprivation,

               Death and separation .

               Songs  of  melancholy

               Sizzles my heart,

                      Dark thoughts

              Of betrayal,

                     Pervading moods

              Of frustration

              Wrinkle my face.

              A witch, a whore

              A butler, and  a queen,

              Touch me to response.

And I sing to them ,

              Strings  throb,

              For one and all

                    Dry dead flowers,

             Sink into the earth,

             Thirsty and parched,

             White and brown,

             The fall and colour

             Paste a thumbnail,

             Image dear.

             Sad are my moods,

             In  love and despair,

             In company and seclusion,

             I am alone,

             A jester,

             Jehovah's son.

           In dark and mystery,

           Ingrained  beauteous eternity.

           Soul's journey,

           To infinity.

THE SOLILOQUY

January 11th, 2009

      My silent eyes,
      Their tears
      Never touched her
      Nor her heart
      Heaved a sigh
      Cajoling my spirits.
      My ungainly wink
      Withering innocence
      Never spread her
      Dark brown eyes.
      I waited and waited
      In exasperation
      Had a hope
      Thaw would be there
      To fill the earth
      And water the plant.
      She never falters
      Graces along
      Pomp and vanity
      Of a distant angel.
      With famished senses
      I looked above
      I was left
      A forlorn tramp
      Dragging dither
      Adept in solecism
      My heart
      An achilles heel.

the whisper

January 3rd, 2009

            she whispered into my ears;
            should we be lovers!
i was numb, in a slumber
            for years i thought
            i was never alone,
            she was in the cloud
            a beauteous joy.
            she was spontaneous
            ever in my senses,
            in silence i followed her
           in sublime patience
           adored her.
           years after,
          thousand stars died
she asked me should we be lovers.
