Happiness is making others happy!!

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn’t hear the band - he could see it. In his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

Moral:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.

“Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.”

What is true love??

WHAT IS TRUE LOVE??

Many of us might have asked this question…..but what exactly is true love??….lucky are those people who get it…..luckier those who realise it….

I was going through a story on this which i want to share:

Once a lady while having a conversation with her lover, asked:

Lady : Why do you like me..? Why do you love me?

Man : I can’t tell the reason.. but I really like you..

Lady : You can’t even tell me the reason… how can you say you like me? How can you say you love me?

Man : I really dont know the reason, but I can prove that I love U.

Lady : Proof? No! I want you to tell me the reason. My friends boyfriend can tell her why he loves her but not you!

Man: Ok…ok!! Emmmm….because u r beautiful,

because your voice is sweet,
because you are caring,
because you are loving,
because you are thoughtful,
because of your smile,
because of your every movements.

The lady felt very satisfied with the man’s answer.

Unfortunately, a few days later, the Lady met with an accident and went in comma.

The Guy then placed a letter by her side,

“Darling,Because of your sweet voice that I love you…Now can you talk? No! Therefore I cannot love you.

Because of your care and concern that I like you..Now that you cannot show them, therefore I cannot love you.

Because of your smile, because of your every movements that I love you..

Now can you smile? Now can you move? No, therefore I cannot love you…

If love needs a reason, like now,There is no reason for me to love you anymore..

Does love need a reason?

NO! Therefore,
I still LOVE YOU…

Many of us forget that true love is not outward appearance but inner beauty….it is rightly said "immature love says i love you because i need u and mature love says i need you because i love you”

The hunt for happiness!!

And as we are moving forward in our lives .little do we realize how less we are living our lives ..all are grieving under the same pain .getting up each day to find monetary gains .i kept wondering while I was going today .all faces I saw had a different story to say ..some people hunt  for money some hunt for honey .no one is satisfied with what he has .the same story even I have …when I was studying I wanted to work now that I'm working I wish to get back to college ..we always think that if our wishes get fulfilled we will be happy ..but it is not the case .human mind is more complex than it seems .the pleasure we get when our wishes are fulfilled is only temporary ..as one gets fulfilled another crops up to take its place ..it is an infinite process .human wants can never be satisfied .this means that a billionaire or millionaire (who we all wish to be) is not more happier than any of us true happiness in life cannot come through things which are attached with money ..music , poem and dance are the language of soul .express it get engaged in any sport .live it ..spend time with your grandparents ..love it play with small kids ..enjoy it dance in the rain ..explore it coz happiness does not comes with a price tag!!

A simple thought..!!

A thought to ponder

The divine never lets you down. Abiding faith in the divine does not call for performing any rituals. See yourself as an instrument of the divine and do everything. Success will then not raise you to dizzying heights nor will adversely leave you in darkness. You will thereby be god's instrument.

Straight from my heart…!!

Straight from my heart !!

Like fallen leaves my life is lonely

Day by day it says to me slowly:

"No one I've found as yet

Whose separation I would ever regret"

This meany world laughs at others

Other people emotion they hardly bother

All are grieving under the same pain

Money has become their ultimate aim

I stopped a while to look aback

Like a dark sky everything was black

But deep faith inside me says aloud

Soon will disappear this cloud

A new life waits for me at the other end

Which will give my life a new bend

Flowers will bloom, birds will sing

And there will be showers of blessings

O divine God, O Holy Spirit

Do prove me right…

"Heal the world, Heal my life

So that I become my mom dad's pride!!"

Attitude matters

The following story was sent to me via email.  We are all confronted with choices everyday in everything thing we do.  True creativity relies on the ability to make choices that enhance our experience of life, no matter what we’re engaged in.  This little story simply expresses how the capacity to make choices effects everything we do from the most insignificant acts, to those that our life depend on.  I hope it inspires the reader to learn to pause before making future choices, knowing that this creative gift is available to him every moment.

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!”

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, “I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?”

Jerry replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, ‘Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.’ I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.”

“Yeah, right, it’s not that easy,” I protested

“Yes, it is,” Jerry said. “Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It’s your choice how you live life.”

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was rushed to the local trauma center.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, “If I were any better, I’d be twins. Wanna see my scars?”

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. “The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door,” Jerry replied. “Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.”

“Weren’t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?” I asked.

Jerry continued, “The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the ex-pressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, ‘He’s a dead man.’

“I knew I needed to take action.”

“What did you do?” I asked.

“Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me,” said Jerry. ” She asked if I was allergic to anything. ‘Yes,’ I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breathe and yelled, ‘Bullets!’ Over their laughter, I told them. ‘I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Invisible hand

Once two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion’s guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied…

“Things aren’t always what they seem.”

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel “How could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him,” she accused. “The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let their cow die!”

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” The older angel replied.

“When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmer's bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead.

“Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Sometimes this is exactly what happens to us when things don’t turn out the way they should. If we have faith, we just need to trust that every outcome is always to our advantage and we might not know it until it happens….. coz whatever happens it is for a reason !!
