PLANT A TREE - SAVE THE EARTH

PLANTING TREES ' SAVE THE EARTH

Planting trees is great, although using appropriate scientific knowledge to plant the right tree in the right place is even greater.

We all know that trees are good for the climate, because they absorb greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. But recently a team of scientists have disclosed that trees can help… if they’re planted in the right places. They can cool the planet by evaporating water to the atmosphere and increasing cloudiness; a deck of white clouds reflects incoming solar radiation straight back out into space Forests are, of course, very valuable in many other respects: they protect us from global warming and provide timber. At this crucial time when the climate change is already having a significant effect on the human beings, the trees play an important role to save this planet.  Hence, the main purpose of plantation /forestation is to slow down global warming.

LOVE

WHAT IS LOVE

It is a great gift of GOD to human being.

Some people say it is mysterious, magical, complex, difficult, imaginary, thought-provoking, inspirational, intuitional, joyous, immeasurable ecstasy.

Love is patient.

Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes.

Love itself is a universal experience. Love is what love is! To everyone it expresses itself differently.

Love is the answer to “all” questions!

It is important to stand in Love, not fall into it.

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.

Love is comforting someone in need of Love and having them know that somebody cares.

True love seeks the happiness and well being of your partner.

Love must be experienced. Its meaning is infinite and can never be totally defined.

The opposite of Love is fear. Think about it.

There is no fear in Love.

God is love.

Love is loving someone without expecting anything in return; no judgments, no restrictions; no limitations; no expectations!

True Love is the nature of bliss.

Love is expressed when you are being someone who loves someone for who they are, not who you think they should be.

Love is embracing differences and discovering ways in which to build a common lifestyle, share decision-making, and taking equal responsibility for the results.

Teach only Love for that is what you are. - A Course In Miracles

Love is a decision.

If you want Love, you must first Love. Love begets Love. You cannot deliver from an empty wagon. You must first learn to Love yourself before you can give Love.

Love is not manipulative.

Can’t Buy Me Love! - The Beatles

True love has a foundation of integrity, respect, faith and trust. Love is the force that brings about unity and harmony.

SAVE THE PLANT - EARTH

CONSEQUENCES OF GLOBAL WARMING

AND

REMEDIES FOR GLOBAL WARMING

Recently the scientists all over the world have confirmed that the earth’s climate is rapidly changing. Global temperatures increased by about         one degree Fahrenheit over the last century, and it will rise even more rapidly in coming years.

What is the reason behind this climate changing ?

A thick layer of carbon dioxide pollution and other greenhouse gases, mostly from power plants and automobiles, which increase heat in the atmosphere.  The scientists further state that the earth could warm by additional Fahrenheit degrees during the 21st century if we fail to reduce emissions from burning fossil fuels, such as coal and oil. This rise in average temperature will have far-reaching effects. Enhancement of temperatures will increase the probability of drought. Greater evaporation, particularly during summer and fall, could exacerbate drought conditions and increase the risk of wildfires. Sea levels will rise, flooding coastal areas. Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense. Droughts and wildfires will occur more often. Disease-carrying mosquitoes will expand their range. And species will be pushed to their untimely destruction.  Change in temperatures will also change climatic system and lead to more intense rainfall at times in some areas.

Deadly heat waves and the spread of different disease:

Frequent intensive heat waves will result in more climate change related deaths. These conditions will aggravate the local air quality problems. Global warming is expected to increase many diseases as well.

Melting glaciers:

Rising global temperatures will speed the melting of glaciers and ice covers and cause cyclones, floods etc.  Current rates of sea-level rise are expected to increase as a result of  melting of most mountain glaciers and partial melting of the West Antarctic and Greenland ice covers. Low-lying areas are especially vulnerable.

REMEDIES:

We all know that earth is a better place to live in. For living smoothly and for the sake of our coming generation we shouldtry to save this planet from global warming.   There are many ways for this assistances some of them are as under:

1.            Avoid misuse of refrigerators, Air conditioners. Always use compact fluorescent light(CFL)  bulbs.

2.            Plant a tree and help the environment

3.            Use both sides of papers.

4.             If you don’t need a light on, don’t use one!

5.            Open windows instead of using air conditioning.

6.            Donate to an ecological organization, if possible.

7.            Buy recycled products!

8.            Use re-chargeable batteries

9.            Reuse plastic bags. Wash them when they’re dirty.

10.         Recycle paper and cardboard items like empty cereal boxes, notepaper, newspapers, and magazines.

11.         Use a lunchbox instead of a paper or plastic bag to bring your lunch to school.

12.       Donate old clothes, books, and toys to any local hospital or any NGO.

13.       Create a “Rainforest Awareness Week” at the school/offices.

14.       When you brush your teeth, wet the brush, then off the water tap until you need to rinse. You’ll save about five gallons of water.

15.       Choose wisely: A shower uses 3 to 5 gallons of water per minute. A full bathtub uses 36 gallons.

16.        If you water a lawn, do it; in the morning or evening when water won’t evaporate as easily.

RELIGION

RELIGION

In my opinion, it is very difficult to define 'religion' in words because it seems that everyone has a different idea of what it is. Religion is a human creation, and as such can vary as widely as human imagination allows.  The English word “religion” is derived from the Middle English “religioun” which came from the Old French “religion.”

A religion is a set of beliefs and practices, often centered upon specific supernatural and moral claims about reality, the cosmos, and human nature, and often codified as prayer, ritual, or religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience. The term “religion” refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.

Religion is age old since the civilization came into existence. It began when human's brain advanced to realize to have faith, and worship the systems of the society. The human being used to live in small groups, regulations and systems were formed to maintain discipline in the group. All small groups had its own ideology that were mandatory to all group members. As they were too small in groups, system differed from group (society) to group. In order to initiate members to worship the system, an icon was formed that harmonized the ideology. Religious rituals were essential parts to be carried in occasions for transformation in life. During this period their religious practices were for natural resource icons such as sun, moon, river, fire etc.

As I feel, religious customs are practice to follow the beliefs and its messages. Those who have faith in BIBLE are called Christian and who have faith in QUORAN are Muslims and have faith in VEDAS are called Hindus.

Religion is a system of belief in our society.  Custom is main part of religion that builds citizens of the society to trust, respect the ideology of the society. Each religion has its own inscription for its group. When number of followers grew and opted to join the group that resulted to expansion of particular religion. On the other hand in many cases conversion method by force or temptation was/ is also adopted to expand its wings

BOLLYWOOD

BOLLYWOOD

PART II

Bollywood films are multi-million dollar productions, with the most expensive productions costing up to 70 crores. Sets, costumes, special effects, and cinematography were not so expensive earlier, but exceptions are every where. As Western cinema gained wide distribution in India itself, there is increasing pressure for Bollywood films to attain the same production levels.  In short, in areas such as action and special effects. Bollywood has employed international technicians to improve in several areas of Hindi Cinema, such as Krrish, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Drona and Blue (forthcoming movies), the movies list is endless. The increasing accessibility to professional action and special effects, coupled with rising film budgets, has seen an explosion in the action and sci-fi genres. Sequences shot overseas have proved a real box office draw, so Mumbai film crews are increasingly filming in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, continental Europe and elsewhere. Nowadays, Indian producers are winning more and more funding for big-budget films shot within India as well, such as Lagaan, Devdas, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho and other recent super hit films. Funding for Bollywood films often comes from private distributors and a few large studios. Indian banks and financial institutions were forbidden from lending money to movie studios. However, now this ban has been lifted by the Government.  As finances are not regulated by the Financial Institutions, so some funds also arranged from illegitimate sources, such as Mumbai underworld. The Mumbai underworld has been known to be involved in the production of several films, and are notorious for their patronization of several prominent film personalities; On occasion, they have been known to use money and muscle power to get their way in cinematic deals. In the month of January, 2000, during the release time of 'Kaho Na Payar Hain' the Mumbai mafia hitmen shot Rakesh Roshan, film director and father of star Hrithik Roshan; it had been reported that he had refused to accept the conditions of underworld. In another case, the Central Bureau of Investigation seized all prints of the movie Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (a Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee Starrer film) after the movie was found to be funded by members of the Mumbai underworld.  The film producers give the plea that the film industry has not been given the status of  an industry and the banks have never been ready to finance any film.  As a result the producer has to go to underworld to get the finances.   Bollywood is also facing another problem and i.e. of widespread copyright infringement of its films. Often, bootleg DVD copies of movies are available before the prints are officially released in cinemas. Manufacturing of duplicate DVD, VCD, and VHS copies of the latest movie titles is a well established ’small scale industry’ in parts of South Asia and South East Asia. In short, duplicate copies are the only way people in Pakistan can watch Bollywood movies, since the Government of Pakistan has banned their sale, distribution and telecast.  Films are frequently broadcast without proper compensation to the concerned film personalities by endless small cable TV Operators in India.  The availability of illegal copies of movies on the Internet also contributes to the piracy problem. Satellite TV, television and imported foreign films are making huge inroads into the domestic Indian entertainment market. In the past, most Bollywood films could make money; but now the situation is totally different. During this year hardly 3-4 films are declared hits  by the Trade Pundits, due to this piracy. But the Bollywood producers have adopted other ways to make money, recouping their investments from many sources of revenue, including selling ancillary rights. There are also increasing returns from theatres in Western countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, where Bollywood is slowly getting noticed. Since there is a majority of Indians in foreign countries, so they form a growing market for upscale Indian films in these countries.

BOLLYWOOD

B  O  L  L  Y  W  O  O  D

THE CITY OF DREAM

(PART I)

The word "BOLLYWOOD" is popularly used for the Mumbai-based Hindi film industry in India. I think Bollywood is one of the biggest film industry in the world and the largest in terms of number of films produced only in India. In my opinion Bollywood is often used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; but I think that it is only a part of the Indian film industry.  Bollywood is commonly referred to as Hindi cinema. Now a days there is a growing number of films made entirely in English.

Raja Harishchandra was the first silent feature film made in India in the year 1913.  It was produced by the grandfather of Indian Cinema 'DADASAHEB PHALKE'. By the year 1930, the Indian film Industry was producing above 100 movies per annum. The first Indian sound film 'Alam Ara' was produced in 1931 was a hit movie, which was appreciated by the audience.  There is a long list of successful actors of India i.e. Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Ashok Kumar, and Raj Kapoor, Dharmendra, Sunil Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan etc. etc. and actresses like Nargis, Meena Kumari, Nutan and Madhubala, Rekha, Hema Malini etc. etc..

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, romance movies and action films starred actors like Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra. In the mid-1970s, the position of romantic movies was captured by action movies.   This was the era of action movies. With the entrance of AMITABH BACHCHAN, the scene of Indian Cinema has totally changed. He is famous for his “angry young man” image and till now when he is aged about 65 years of old he is still doing different  kinds of roles in movies. There is a long list of his fans all over the world.

The films of Bollywood are mostly musicals, and are expected to contain catchy music in the form of song-and-dance numbers written and added into the script. Songs and dances, love triangles, comedy and dare-devil thrills ? all are mixed up in a three-hour-long duration with interval. Such movies are called masala movies. These movies are also a mixture of many things such as action, comedy, romance etc. Today a film’s success depends on the quality of such musical numbers. Now a days a film’s music (both audio and video) is often released before the movie itself and helps increase the number of audience. The Indian audiences expect full value for their money, with a good entertainer generally referred to as paisa vasool.

Bollywood employs people from all parts of India. It attracts thousands of new aspiring actors and actresses, who are hoping for a break in the industry. Models and beauty contestants, television actors, theatre actors and even common people come to Mumbai with the hope and dream of becoming a star. But it is bitter truth that very few of them succeed and others lost in the mob of people.

Stardom in the entertainment industry is very temporary, and Bollywood is no exception. The popularity of the stars can rise and fall rapidly. Directors compete to hire the most popular stars of the day, who are believed to guarantee the success of a movie (but this belief is not always right). It is bitter truth that many stars make the most of their fame, once they become popular, by making several movies simultaneously.

Bollywood films are watched with great love and enthusiasm in foreign countries, such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Russia, China, Canada, Japan,  Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Most Pakistanis watch Bollywood films (despite Government ban on Indian films), because the Pakistanis speak or at least understand Hindi. Instead of Government ban, few Bollywood films have been released there, such as Taj Mahal, Awarapan and recently super hit Emran Hashmi's Jannat. Besides this there is a huge market for Bollywood movies in local video stores too.

SAVE TEH EARTH FROM GLOBAL WARMING

GLOBAL WARMING

SAVE THIS EARTH

The average temperature of the earth has increased more than 1 degree Fahrenheit during the last century.  This increase in earth's temperature is called Global warming. More or less all the scientists are studying the climate record of the earth for the last many years  have the same opinion now that human actions, mainly the discharge of greenhouse gases from smoking, engines of the vehicles, mills, factories and burning forests are the reasons for global warming.  Global warming can be described as most dangerous thing to this planet i.e. our earth.

CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING

The major cause of global warming is the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc into the atmosphere. The major source of carbon dioxide is the power plants. These power plants emit large amounts of carbon dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. About twenty percent of carbon dioxide emitted in the atmosphere comes from burning of petrol in the engines of the vehicles. Besides this the buildings, both commercial and residential represent a larger source of global warming pollution than cars and other vehicles.

Famous scientists of the world are making predictions about the dangerous effects of Global warming. The effect of global warming is increasing the average temperature of the earth. A rise in earth's temperatures can in turn increase the sea level. These changes can enhance the occurrence and concentration of severe climate events, such as floods, famines, heat waves, tornados, and  cyclones.  It is also seen that a large number of species have a threat of disappearing soon as an effect of global warming. Besides this different diseases are occurring frequently due to the increase in earths average temperature since the bacteria can survive better in elevated temperatures and even multiplies faster when the conditions are favorable.  The global warming is expected to cause drastic changes in the day to day behavior of animals.

Global Warming is increasing the earth's average temperature. The Green house gases are the main reason of the global warming. The green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide are playing hazards in the present times.  The excessive emission of these gases is the major cause of global warming. The major source of carbon dioxide is the power plants. These power plants emit large amounts of carbon dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Coal is the major fuel that is burnt in these power plants. The coal gives out manifold percent carbon per unit of energy it produces as compared to natural gas. Another major source of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the emission from the cars and other vehicles. About twenty percent of carbon dioxide emitted in the atmosphere comes from the engines of the vehicles. This is true for most of the developed countries.  Besides this smokes coming out of factories, mills also plays an important role in enhancing the global warming. Methane is another major greenhouse gas after carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, it is more than 20 times as effectual as CO2 at entrapping heat in the atmosphere.

Another major cause of global warming is deforestation. Deforestation is to be blamed for 25% of all carbon dioxide release entering the atmosphere, by the cutting and burning of about 34 million acres of trees each year. Trees collect the CO2 that we breathe out and provide us oxygen from various other sources, and they give back oxygen that we breathe in. Thus, cutting of trees is leading to greater concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Greater urbanization, requirement of land for factories and buildings, requirement of timber are all reasons that are leading to deforestation, which in turn is leading to global warming.

EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases.  These green house effect warming is called global warming. The effects of green house effect are visible more prominently in the recent years.

The main causes for the global warming are attributed to release of green house gases. The main gases contributing to green house effect are carbon dioxide and  methane. The largest producers of these gases are the thermal power plants, which burn the fossil fuels and produce these gases in large quantities. The second biggest sources of these green house gases are car, buses, rails, mills, factories and smoking etc.

The global warming has also led to increase in earth temperature and melting of polar ice. The frequent melt down of glaciers results in floods and other natural calamities. The melting of ice at the poles has increased the sea levels, which is very dangerous of the survival of low lying countries. The effect of global warming can be seen on seasons too. There is shift in season cycle, such as summers are getting longer than the winters.

The global warming is also responsible for the introduction of some new diseases. The bacteria are more effective and multiply much faster in warmer temperatures compared to cold temperatures. The increase in temperature has led to increase in the microbes that cause diseases. Global warming is causing loss to the crop production. The  floods and other natural calamities affect the crop.

HARMS OF MOBILE PHONE

HARMS OF MOBILE PHONE

In our day-to-day life we cannot ignore the importance of mobile phones. But excessive use of everything is bad. Mobiles can have a negative impact on our health.  Today Mobile phones has become an essential part of our modern lifestyle. But it is important to be aware that incorrect and excessive use of this instrument could result in health problems. Research has shown that prolonged  use of mobile phone is dangerous for the health.  Scientific studies suggest  that radiation from hand-held mobile phones might cause subtle biochemical, physiological or behavioural changes among frequent users. Reports of brain tumours in regular mobile users have not been substantiated, but these gadgets have been shown to cause headache and fatigue.

Children are particularly vulnerable because of their developing nervous system.  Mobile phone
should not be given to a child until they are capable and well educated enough to use it properly. Some children are able to use mobile phones properly because they are responsible and reliable.   Besides this unnecessary, frequent and prolonged use of mobile phones by children should be strongly discouraged.  Here are some tips on how to avoid health risks associated with the use of mobile phone:

Precaution while using mobile phones:

1.            Keep the calls as brief as possible.

2.            Keep the device away from the body and not pressed against the head.

3.            Use pagers and conventional phones as much as possible.

4.            Use a hands-free kit to maintain some distance between your head and the antennae.

5.            Do not give children mobile phones.

6.            Mobile phones can disturb teachers and students and can also cause education standards to deteriorate, try to avoid it.

7.            Don’t use them in hospitals  as it disturb the patients.

8.            Don’t use them on aircraft as they interfere with the navigation systems.

9.            Never use them while driving.

10.         If someone has a pacemaker, avoid carrying a phone in the breast pocket.

11.         Don’t use them for long conversations.

Global Warning

TREES CAN SAVE EARTH

ONLY TREES CAN SAVE THE EARTH

New studies shows that planting a tree can stop the sea level from rising, the ice covers from melting and cyclones from intensifying the day to day life of general people.

The study further reveals that it depends where the trees are planted. It cautions that new forests in mid- to high-latitude locations could warm the atmosphere. It also confirms the notion that planting more trees in tropical rainforests could help slow global warming worldwide.

Forests affect climate in three different ways:

A.        They absorb the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and help to keep the planet cool;

B.        They evaporate water to the atmosphere and increase cloudiness, which also helps keep the planet cool; and

C.        They are green and absorb a lot of sunlight, warming the Earth. Climate change mitigation strategies that promote planting trees have taken only the first effect into account.

The study further reveals that tropical forests are very beneficial to the climate because they take up carbon and increase cloudiness, which in turn helps cool the planet.  The study further disclose that by the year 2100, forests in mid and high latitudes will make some places up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than would have occurred if the forests did not exist.

So get ready and plant a tree for your welfare and for the sake of new generation.
