What is a web log/blog?
A web blog (or blog) is a diary or journal that you maintain online. It is a Web page that is made up of frequently updated entries that are arranged chronologically. This means, you can view fresh updates on the page, while olders entries will get archived on a frequent basis. It is similar to posting an instant message on the Web. Anyone who knows about your blog or who you share the URL with can then check out your blog, comment on it and discuss anything that you have written about. It's a fun, new way to become a part of one of the Web's most dynamic and fastest growing communites!

How is a blog different from a homepage?
The major difference between a blog and a homepage is that the former is dynamic, while the latter is static. The purpose of a homepages is basically to showcase yourself. It usually contains a set of links highlighting your work, your interests, hobbies and your family.

A blog, on the other hand, is similar to a diary or journal that you update frequently. Some even choose to update every few hours in order to keep their content fresh and interesting. What is the purpose of a blog?
You can use blogs for different purposes. Some use blogs for fun and some use it for work. Some use it for both. The content blogs vary greatly from person to person. Some people like sharing links and cross-linking to other bloggers. Others might use it as a forum for commentary and discussion on the latest news, trends and current events. Then again, others use it to showcase their work, post stories, photos, poetry, mini-essays and fiction.

Do I need to know HTML and coding?
