Picking the Best Diamond Wedding Bands for Your Partner

Many people do not realize that the most important piece of metal during the course of courtship and marriage is not the engagement ring. Rather, this ring is only second to wedding bands. These bands represent the strength of a partnership that is about to be sanctified in marriage. This also means that, somehow, your diamond wedding bands would get special attention during the wedding day.

Who Should Wear Them?
This will depend on several factors such as family tradition, religion, and culture. In today’s diverse communities, the lines are blurred even more, and what is accepted by a group may be disturbing to another. It is generally expected that the couple will wear similarly designed wedding bands, though. This is often included in all wedding ceremonies right before the groom kisses the bride.

However, it is also acceptable in some areas for either partner to not wear the ring at certain times, even after the wedding. In fact, in highly developed countries, it is fairly normal to see a married man without his wedding band.

Picking the Strongest
As mentioned earlier, wedding bands become the symbol of the unbreakable bond between two people who have been united in marriage. If such is the case, a bond forged in the diamond is as strong as it gets. Diamonds are so strong that no metal can cut it, and the only thing that could is another diamond. The fact that it is used to cut other metals is a testament to its strong composition.

However, strength is not just why diamond is such a precious stone. Kings and queens have long found out that the diamond is as beautiful as it is strong. Even if uncut, it already plays with the light. In the hands of master jeweler, its beauty rises as well as its value. Though there was a time that only palaces had access to diamonds, today a married couple can choose from a variety of diamond wedding bands.

Patterns
A plain metal band is a popular form considered by many couples. However, a pattern would be prohibitively expensive to an already expensive diamond band. The cuts or karats decide the value of particular diamond. Cutting a diamond completely into a band would prove to be a challenge and would have an astronomical price indeed.

The solution would be to use another metal as a plain band and then have the diamonds lined up to a design picked by the couple. The metal band would either be gold or platinum, since they would be strong enough for the main stone. This is one of the few moments that the most precious metal is outshone by a stone. The design usually is not as extravagant as an engagement ring; in fact, simplicity is encouraged. Though this might be considered difficult as it is a diamond ring, many jewelry shops have concocted patterns and forms that still show elegance despite the simplicity. You can also choose to select one and modify it a bit to suit your preference.
Visit for Our Leading Diamond Wedding Bands Resources !

Are Diamond Wedding Bands also for Men?

One might think that the glitzy diamond might be too much for masculine tastes and render the groom effeminate. Diamond wedding bands are also perfect for men but a perfect wedding band should complement the groom’s personal tastes, style and lifestyle.

Diamond wedding bands for men are often very simple pieces: a metal like gold, white gold, platinum, chromium or even titanium holds a single and beautifully cut diamond. Elegant, masculine and timeless, diamond wedding bands are a perfect testament to a man’s love for his wife.

Most couples also opt for matching diamond wedding bands. Remember that even if the bride wants a more ornate piece, men's rings should stay as simple as possible. This is because an ornate piece would look odd and quite off on a man's finger. A more compelling reason for staying simple, however, is his active lifestyle.

Additionally, most people also think that diamond wedding bands for men are expensive. Well, that is true for the most part. Diamond wedding bands are more expensive because a diamond is a valuable and well-known symbol of love and timelessness, which is why it is also quite pricey. Take heart, however, that budget conscious men have some alternatives that can save some dollars.

For one, there are diamonds that have a lower grade or rating. Diamonds are rated based on its 4Cs: color, cut, carat and clarity. It is close to impossible to find a diamond that rate high on all four qualities, so it is really up to the groom to choose which diamond he likes. A smaller one, or one with a slight haze, or one with some cutting imperfections are of course more reasonable price-wise. Even with its imperfections, lower grade diamonds can still sparkle brightly if set right.

Choosing a cheaper metal might also help keep the price down. For example, if you have wanted a platinum ring for so long, you might sacrifice a little and get a gold ring. Gold costs much cheaper than platinum but is also valuable. Another thing that adds to the final tag price is engravings or markings on the face of the ring itself. A beveled ring is not necessarily better than a flat one. So choose for a ring that is simple.

So you see, scrimping in this case does not really mean you are stuck with cheap-looking pieces of jewelry. Basically choose one that celebrates love yet also maintains his masculinity. You should also address his personal style and lifestyle. For most men, their wedding bands may be the only piece of jewelry other than watches and cuff link that they would own, which is why choosing diamond wedding bands for them becomes doubly important.

Galleries of Engagement Rings

I am here at work, it’s been two hours, and I’m already bored with my dead-end job. I answer phones and run errands for my boss at a paper company, and right now, he’s on vacation. In the Caribbean…Sipping a papaya margarita or whatever exotic fruit they have that’s too expensive to buy here in this little East Coast town…Getting sunburned on the beach. While I, on the other hand, sit behind a desk that’s too big for me (sitting on a pillow helps a little) in front of a computer and quiet phone. Ring, darn it! I guess my boss is unpopular today. I would think that people would still want to do business with him not knowing that he’s gone on vacation, but they must have gotten the memo. Or maybe it’s because it’s Friday, meaning less business. I guess it’s not like people are in a rush to order paper products before the weekend arrives - that can wait until Monday.

Anyway, I’m going to think positively and take my own vacation - a mental one - since my boss isn’t here! So, I’m going to cruise the internet and catch up on some online business. Thank goodness my company didn’t block access to social media, shopping, or blogging sites! That’s why I’m writing this blog right now. One obsession I have is searching ideas for my future wedding. I’m not engaged right now or anything like that, but I thought I’d get a head start. I love wedding shopping! So far, I perused through galleries of engagement rings, wedding gowns, bridesmaids gowns, and even tuxes. Even though I’d leave the tux choice to my future fiancé, I still would like to be prepared in giving him some style advice. Okay, enough wedding searching.

Oh, the phone just rang…Hold on. Hm, it’s just another salesperson selling some sort of lead generators.

Moving on, anyone know of any cheap foreign places to visit? I heard on TV that Cypress is a beautiful place to visit that is pretty affordable, especially since its currency is not the Euro. I searched around sites about Cypress - I must say that it does look gorgeous…I’m a little unsure about taking a boat or small plane to get there, but it does look very beautiful and have dramatic sunsets. It could even be a place that I stay at and take day trips to nearby European countries. Mexico may be another place to visit. My sister recently stayed at an all-inclusive resort near Mazatlan and enjoyed every minute of her stay there. Hmm, I did see a couple of resorts for $600 a week per person, not bad!

Oh, the phone rang again…Hold on. This time it’s the regional director, so this ends my “mental vacation,” sigh…

The Quick and Simple Guide in Choosing Diamond Wedding Rings

Getting married is an exciting time in any couple’s life. It only makes sense to immortalize the moment with diamond wedding rings.

Preparing for a wedding, however, can be a daunting task with hectic schedules and a long list of things to do. While the wedding ring is an important aspect of the wedding preparations, it should not take too much time and consideration choosing one.

Diamond wedding rings are the perfect symbol for commemorating love and commitment. Diamonds last forever and this enduring quality, along with its stunning beauty, makes it the perfect gem for your wedding rings. Accept no alternatives.

If you are thinking that you could not afford a diamond, think again. There are really great pieces of diamonds that cost much less than what people would assume it costs. Remember that diamonds are rated according to their carat, cut, color and clarity; and are priced accordingly. Get a smaller diamond if it suits your budget. Or perhaps get one that is a little bit cloudy, but has a great color rating. An error in cutting the diamond usually brings the price down but you can hide the imperfections by talking to your jeweler and setting it correctly.

What you can change, however, is the ring’s metal. Depending on your preference, budget and personality, you can choose from gold, white gold, titanium, or platinum. Some couples prefer silver, but silver tends to be softer and pliable, making it unsuitable for a diamond setting. If you and your partner have active lifestyles, consider getting titanium or platinum rings because these metals tend to be stronger and more scratch-resistant. Gold and white gold are perfect for those who are looking to save up on their expenses. No matter which metal you choose, pairing it with diamonds would make it an elegant and beautiful piece.

Diamond wedding rings do not have to be expensive. While it is practically unbelievable that a simple and elegant symbol would be inexpensive, it is utterly possible. For one, check out a lot of stores both in the real world and online. This will give you the widest possible range of choices at prices that you would love. This is especially true if you browse online; within a matter of seconds you are looking at hundreds of different diamond wedding rings from a variety of suppliers.

Consider if you are going to get matching rings. Most couples, because of their schedules get different rings on their own time. Getting matching rings however, make the symbol more potent and more special. What’s more, if you get matching rings, you are in a better position to ask for a discount from your jeweler.

Diamond wedding rings are durable, beautiful and elegant. It is precisely because of this that they make perfect wedding rings. You might also consider using diamond wedding rings as “double duty rings”, or using your diamond wedding rings to double as the engagement ring.

Diamond Wedding Bands for Men: Silver Is Not Your Only Choice

If men have a choice between a diamond wedding band or diamond wedding ring, they would definitely settle for the former. After all, there are fewer embellishments. They would also opt for smaller diamond stones.

However, here is the thing. You could be one of those who believe that the only choice you have for your actual wedding band is silver. If it is not going to be silver, then it would most definitely be gold. Well, mister, you have to know that you have plenty of options. In fact, some of them are so much better than silver and gold.

Your diamond wedding band can also be made of the following:

Titanium
One of the foremost reasons why men would be apprehensive of wearing a wedding band is because they fear they may damage the jewelry. Men could be used to manual work, which may only cause the bands to acquire scratches.

The good thing about titanium wedding bands is that they are made of a very strong metal. Steel wedding bands are even weaker than those made of titanium. Thus, you will never be afraid to wear your wedding band wherever you go. Titanium is also hypoallergenic. If you are not too comfortable wearing gold or silver then titanium is the best choice for your band.

Tungsten
This metal is usually used for industrial reasons. A long time ago, you may find tungsten commonly used in light bulbs, cathode ray tubes, and even in rocket engine nozzles. That is how strong tungsten is. A wedding band that is made of tungsten will not only last for many years; it will never lose its shine as well. Simply put, you do not have to put too much effort in taking care of your tungsten wedding band. Like titanium, tungsten also does not cause allergies.

Tungsten Carbide
There is one problem with tungsten. Even if it is very durable, it can still be prone to scratches. Thus, to make sure that it does not, tungsten is often combined with carbon. Hence, you have tungsten carbide. This type of alloy is commonly used in creating cutting tools and ammunition for tanks. It is also highly valued for its durability. It is known to be twice as strong as steel.

Palladium
If you want a perfect alternative to platinum, then palladium it is. It is naturally shiny. This means that you do not have to combine it with any other metal just to allow palladium to shine for a very long time. It also does not contain any nickel, which can potentially cause allergic reactions to humans. Like the rest of the metals discussed, this is hypoallergenic. Most of all, it is also less expensive than platinum.

With so many options for your wedding bands, men can surely go for what they want and wear their wedding bands with pride.

Some More Tips on Choosing Diamond Wedding Bands

So you are finally going to make it official and taking the plunge in the grandest way you know: getting married. For most people, their wedding will remain the most memorable moment in their lives; why not commemorate it with diamond wedding bands?

Diamond wedding bands are not only cool and fashionable; it is also a testament of your love for one another. Diamonds are forever, as your love should be. Diamonds are beautiful and sparkling pieces that reflect how your marriage should be. What is more, it is easy to look elegant even with simple diamond wedding bands.

Admittedly, there are some things to keep in mind when you are searching for the right wedding band. Here are some:

1. Go from one jeweler to another and take a look at their collection. Go online and check out the offerings. This would help you get a feel of what you really want, what metal is available, and can give you some valuable design ideas. Comparison shopping will also help you get an idea of just how much a particular wedding band might cost or get you introduced to the most cost-effective jeweler in town.
2. Not all diamonds are created equal. Remember that diamonds are rated on four criteria: carat, color, cut and clarity, or the 4 Cs. A diamond that rates high in all four criteria is understandably very expensive. Do not fret, though. Choose a diamond that might have a lower rating on one criterion, but is still beautiful. For instance, it would be cheaper for you to get a diamond that has a slightly imperfect cut, but has stunning clarity. You can hide imperfections by setting it correctly.
3. Customize it. If you have a particular design in mind and you are having problems looking for the exact design, or if you want to have a unique wedding band that would separate you and your partner from the rest, then it might make sense to customize it. Customizing might also help you save by allowing you to choose for simpler designs, settings or cheaper materials than what is currently available. The good thing is most brick and mortar jewelers now offer customized pieces or customization services, or you can also go online.
4. Looking to keep the price down? Do not be too proud to ask your jeweler for a discount. During a recession like the one we are experiencing now, it is perfectly normal to ask for a discount, especially if you are using the same jeweler for both the groom’s and the bride’s rings!
5. Something old or something new? Another way for you to save is to bring out that family heirloom out of its jewelry box. Do you really need a new ring when an older, previously-owned one will be perfect? Check out pawnshops or e-bay for bargain diamond wedding bands that are also very stunning. You could probably gain some substantial savings on this.

Diamond wedding bands should reflect the love you have for each other. With these tips, you are ensured that you will choose the perfect one for you and your partner!

The Lovely History of Diamond Wedding Rings

Diamonds, the world’s most sought-after gems, has had a rich and interesting history throughout the years. Long before diamond wedding rings became famous, these precious stones have been treated not only as gems but also as talismans.

Diamonds were said to have originated in India about three thousand years ago and were valued primarily because of their brilliance. In those early days of diamond history, people thought diamonds were mystical stones that could be used to ward off evil spirits or as protection from harm.

Some believed they were good protective talismans for battle. At a certain point, diamonds were even thought to be powerful magical gems that could heal wounds or even cure sickness! By the time the Middle Ages came, the lore surrounding the so-called mystical stones had dwindled, and public interest in the aesthetic and commercial value of diamonds perked up. Giving diamond wedding rings to bride-to-be’s turned into a trend after Duke Maximilian of Austria presented Mary of Burgundy with a diamond ring as his betrothal gift in 1477.

In later years, after the Indian diamond supply had diminished, a few smaller mines were discovered in Brazil and Borneo. These, however, were not enough to address the rising demand for diamond wedding rings and other jewelry. A sizable supply of diamonds was found in South Africa sometime in the 1800s, which set the precedent for the world’s largest diamond rush.

It wasn’t until the later part of the 1970’s that the world’s richest diamond deposits was discovered near Lake Argyle in Australia. To date, a significant percentage of the world’s diamonds are supplied by the Argyle mines. With this development, diamond wedding rings and other jewelry have become so much more available to the public.

Today, diamond wedding rings have become a staple for marrying couples all over the world. Aside from the ever-popular colorless diamonds, more options have also become available for all kinds of couples, individuals, and personalities, especially with the recent advancements in technology.

There are now lab-produced diamonds, which are not actually mined from the earth like naturally-occurring diamonds, but still as brilliant and beautiful. Colored or “fancy” diamonds are also now on the market, whether natural or treated to enhance their color. Rare red or pink diamonds, stunning canary yellows, or elegant black ones – there is a diamond that can fit one’s personality and budget.

The story of diamond is wrapped in magic and romance. It is no wonder, then, that diamond wedding rings have become a significant part of marriage ceremonies everywhere. It is not just the beauty, brilliance, or the prestige of this popular gemstone that makes it so special, but also the rich history and symbolism that goes with it as a couple exchanges their vows at the altar. Just imagine, you and your partner are giving each other a gift of man and nature that has been thousands of years in the making – perhaps even as old as time itself. Now that is a perfect moment for an enchanting wedding!

Engagement Ring Enthusiasm

When someone announces that they got engaged, don’t most people, especially ones you know, excitedly congratulate you and ask to see your ring? Did engagement rings lose their fascination? I think it must have because that’s what happened to me. At least, I think maybe it happened to me because when I talk to people about it, they seem to think differently. Anyway, I recently got engaged – yay, I’m so happy! When I made the announcement to my close friends, they seemed happy for me too, maybe not overly excited, but happy. I usually thought at this point, people would grab my left hand to see my ring, but no one really did. No one really asked to even see my ring. Well, I’m exaggerating. A couple of them did as well as my immediate family, but not even some of my close cousins asked. I was a little shocked, maybe even a little hurt. I wanted to show off my ring, not because I’m a showy person, but because I guess that is what I expected. Plus, my fiancé spent a lot of time in choosing my ring after looking at so many diamond engagement rings, and I know he’s proud that he was able to even pick a ring on his own. Hmmm, I wonder where I even got this notion of how people, women especially, typically act during engagement announcements. I blame the movies and TV. I also think and observe that other people generally ask to see the ring just because we’re all curious, and I know that I excitedly ask to see my girlfriends’ engagement rings. So why did I get a different reaction?
I hope that I don’t seem whiny or anything like that. I guess the lack of reaction seems like people aren’t that excited about my future wedding or really happy for me. But is that really the case, or is it all in my head? I do feel that the economic situation changed people’s emotions, made them seem more cautious and subdued and less celebratory, so maybe this occasion affected their reactions. Or maybe they were too busy at the time to ask to see my ring or had other things on their minds that they need to take care of. Or maybe it’s because it gets tiring with so many other people getting married – I’m one of the last ones in my circle of friends and co-workers to be married. I don’t know.
I asked my sister what could be the case. She said to not think about this any more because I have more important things to do in my life, such as my job, fiancé, and, most of all, my wedding. My sister said that I have a lot of work ahead of me in terms of wedding planning, and I need to start now. I’m getting married in eleven months, and I didn’t start yet. And she’s right. I have to stop worrying about other people’s reactions to my ring. Who knows what could be the reason. I’m just happy that I have a great fiancé who decided that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

My Future Engagement Ring

Do you ever feel like you’ll be one of the last ones to get married, especially since everyone around you is getting or already is married? And some of those people are your age or even younger? I do! I know I sound kind of pathetic, but I’m just being honest, and I know other people can relate. Anyway, with summer near, the dreaded wedding bells will chime every weekend, all the women’s related cable shows will bombard our viewing eyes with silly wedding shows, and every ad that I see will be filled with disgustingly, smiley faces of the bride and groom that I can’t just help but play a game in my head of guessing how long couples like that will last. I know I sound bitter, but really, I know I’m speaking out of jealousy and insecurity issues. Plus, it’s fun to be sarcastic!
I know that someday I will get married and have a beautiful wedding, but right now, I’m single and unready. However, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t start thinking about the details of my future wedding! Yes, I actually, started visualizing my wedding. I never really fantasized about it growing up, if you can believe it or not. I just wasn’t that type of girl back then. Now that I’ve been to twenty or so weddings, I developed a list of things that I want and don’t want for my own wedding. Since it’s a long list, I’ll just talk about engagement rings, which are on my mind right now.
Like most girls, I want a diamond engagement ring. I still need—okay, I don’t really “need” but rather “want”—to figure out the ring setting I like. I pored over many magazines ads, scanned women’s left hands to see their engagement rings, window shopped at every jewelry store I passed, and searched online for images of diamond engagement rings. If I’m going to have to wear something forever, I want to make sure that I wear the perfect bling.
I did narrow down my selections to three options:

1) Classic Solitaire
This style seems rather plain, but there’s just something about a solo diamond mounted up on its own that seems to classically and elegantly stand out without being too flashy.
2) Pave Side Diamond Solitaire
Originally, I was afraid that a ring with more than one diamond will look too gaudy and attract some attention from possible robbers, but I saw some beautiful pave side solitaire engagement rings that didn’t look too extravagant, giving some “oomph” to a standard solitaire.
3) Tiffany Inspired Antique with Pave Side
This style is gorgeous! It does have a lot of diamonds around the main gemstone and along the side of the ring, which may draw attention, but it’s beautiful and classic. Some jewelers sell this engagement ring in a three-ring wedding set—engagement ring, wedding band, and second band to place on the right hand –what a bargain!

With all these options, my future husband will have a heck of a time figuring out which ring to get for me. I think I’ll end up making him choose since most likely he’ll be paying for the ring…of course, I’ll offer these suggestions to help him out!
You know? Writing about the positive aspects of my future wedding helps me feel better about weddings, gives me something to look forward to in my life. Oh wait, I just saw an ad with a young man down on one knee proposing to his girlfriend. Hmm, I wonder how long this couple would last.
