The Amazing Human Brain

We live in a world of our own.   The scientists have found this truth.  The British researchers have found that brain does not pass all the information that it absorbs from the surrounding.  The brain uses this data to create a mental world in which each of us exists.  At the University College London Dr. Chris Frith works as a neuropsychologist.  He believes that our brain can work without interference.  He thinks that this is an evolutionary hangover that has helped us to survive.  He thinks that the majority work that our brain does goes on unconsciously.  He finds that the whole world, the thing that we call reality is actually an illusion.  Even our consiousness is also an illusion.  Each one of us construct them slightly differently.  He states that our brain is constantly absorbing information around the world we live.  It is monitoring, checking and assessing.  But unusually most of the information never reaches us.  We have 100 trillion brain cells.  Just imagine!  The brain takes this raw data from the surroundings to create its own world.  This is a model of the world in which each human being lives.  Dr. Frith and his colleagues have stated this in the British Association for the Advancement of Science Festival in York.

Through brain scanning scientists come to know which brain areas are used.  The scientists have come to know which part is active for conscious selves.  Through research we  have also come to know what happens when we lose consciousness.  This study has helped people with mental disorders and distortion of consciousness.

So the million dollar question arises if a small part of the brain is used for generating our personality, what is the rest doing.  We don't use the rest and this has helped us simple to put consciousness from meltdown.  We wound be able to handle information from 100 trillion brain cells.

Our brain has helped us unconsciously bring together from different sources without thinking about it.  We cannot think the way we move our limbs and the way we understand the meaning of letters in a page.  It is a very complicated process.  When we see a snake in front of us, we ran away in fear.  This shows our brain activities are unconscious.  We can do many skills at one time.  For example, you can drive a car and listen to radio, talk with your phone over mobile and also watch the traffic and drive.  So all the senses are used and this rather pretty complex and beyond our control.

A hot summer evening

It was a hot summer evening.  I had my night shift.  I went out from my home around 7:30 a.m.  I started walking along the road near the park.  Near the park there are few street children playing.  Not even a single leaf was moving and the weather is humid with  little or no breeze.  The sky is pitch dark!  All of a sudden there was a power cut!  The street light unfortunately went off.  As I walked along the road, I felt a chill down my spine.  I found two girls passed by.  After some time, a woman passed by me.  She is middle aged.  In the lights of the passing cars, I saw her.  She was walking in front of me.  She was wearing a red sari with a sleeveless blouse.  She had a long hair.  Her figure showing the right curves and she was walking in a style which draws attention from the opposite sex!

I entered the metro station punching my card.  She also entered.  In the bright lights, I saw her face.  She is dark but beautiful.  Rather I must say she is a hot lady.  The ladies seats were all full but the gents had some places.  I sat in one and she sat next to me.  I could find a sweet smell of perfume from her mixed with perspiration a little.  But the smell is awesome!  It turns a man wild!  I could feel her legs and the warmth of her body.  Her body has a heat, which radiates like the sun!  She was adjusting her hair and I could see her hands, which were beautifully carved as if a sculptor created her.  She moved closer to me as the crowd increased!

My station came and I came down at Kalighat.  Metro Railways in Kolkata moves from Dumdum to Tollygonge.  Metro railway has become a necessity both for office goers, students, and travelers.  Its good to use metro as it saves a lot of time.

I took an auto.  The lady sat next to me.  I thought she was following me.  In the auto, she sat next to the driver and I sat behind.  I say she is a stylish lady.  Her smell still mesmerizes and she is damn hot as I see in the dim light of the road.  After a few people moved away at different locations, she came and sat beside me.  She adjusted her hair and as if deliberately showed her shaved armpits.  Probably these ladies love to show their body.  She is quite hot.  She moved to another side and I saw her curves and said to my myself, "Ahh!! What a sexy lady If you were my wife!"  Suddenly I found the lady talking to me, she asked me, "Hi .Can you help me open this bag, the hook has become too tight!"  I opened the bag and she smiled.  I asked her where she stayed.  She told me its Ballygunge.  She even gave me the flat number.  I  took her cell number and went to her flat.

She lives alone.  Her name is Anamika.  She is working in a MNC in Kolkata as a software professional.  She took care of me.  She smiled and told me to sit and bought a cup of coffee.  She stood in front of me and poured the coffee.  I saw her cleavage while she was pouring the coffee.  Even I could see her nipples as her breast came out a bit!  She was damn hot!  She sat beside me and we chatted.  Oh no!  It started raining.  She told me to stay that night.  I stayed with her.  She sat beside me and kissed me.  I kissed her.  She stood up and one by one she undressed and finally she was in her birthday suit!  She kissed me and kissed her all over the body!  Finally we played a lot in the sofa.  We did not know who won  the game but in the morning when we woke up, we both felt happy!  She dressed up and I went to my home.

Chocolate Boosted Day

It was on October 2, 2007.  The day started as usual with jogging at the park.  I usually wake up around 6 a.m., get   ready and move out jogging.  I generally wear a watch but plan to have a stop watch in the near future to keep track whether I am running exactly 30 minutes or not.  You know there are something in life you must be serious about like 'fitness' you may ask "Why?"  I should say a good exercise in the morning energizes you.  It gives you the boost to start the day energetically.  Here I mentioned of a Chocolate Boosted Day.  The reason I explain later.

After jogging, I usually come home and take rest and have tea and do yoga.  This can be the second best thing to do.  Your body should be toned and flexible so as to cope the daily stress you have at work.  You know 9 hours of office work in a back office at Kolkata, which I am doing .not only me there are many guys and girls who are doing to earn a living in private firms.  If you compare the working hour with a government office job, you feel simply jealous.  My father works in a college which is a government job.  Anyway, lets not deviate from the life of thought.  We all work hard in private company as it is our productivity, both quality and quantity matters!

I read some good books.  I am presently reading Lateral Thinking by Edward De Bono.   I also read another good book called Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat.  Mr. Bhagat is a ex-IIT.  He wrote his life during his study at IIT.  It is an interesting story with a good touch of humor.  You will get a belly laugh while reading the book and you will get to know an engineering student can also be a good writer!

I took lunch and then went for a short nap.  I usually write something in the afternoon.  I love to write.  We all know that 'pen is mightier than sword.'  So writing is an art and as you go on writing you develop a writing style and feel happy.  I try to write all sorts like short story, autobiography, poetry, scientific writing, stories etc.  You know writing personal diaries helps you feel good.  You will feel better.  You will feel in a light mood after expressing you pale and stale day in colorful words.

My day changed when I took some chocolate before lunch.  A piece of chocolate given by my brother who stays abroad.  For a long time, it has been kept in refrigerator.  So I took that piece.  Actually my father wanted to take that piece but I took it and he scolded me for taking his piece of chocolate.  He told me to buy chocolates for myself.  Anyway I took the chocolate as I was hungry.  A little later we took the lunch.  In our family we are 4 members.  My mom, dad, grandmother and I.  I never knew that chocolate will boost me in my work at night!  In my medical transcription office, I am doing a night shift this week.  The night shift jobs are quite hard!  You have to work from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.  But if you love to work, you will feel better and happy.  If you can struggle to sleep in the day, your life as a bat will be better.  I mean a "bat."  Bats sleep in the day and remain awake at night.  So is the call center and medical transcription jobs.  Some workers work at night to keep the office running 24×7.  The employees who get married while working in a back office feel the pain of leaving family at night.  But it's a profession where working at night is a part of your job.  In your back office, you work hard for companies which are located at United States of America and United Kingdom.  The processing of work is done here and sent to USA and UK.  You might ask why these works are sent here in India and other developing countries.  These helps the companies generate profits.  We have a large number of workers who will work at a reduced cost thereby the profit margin of the USA companies or hospitals (in case of medical transcription) increases.  You might also ask why this type of jobs are increasing popularity?  The answer is the job crisis in our government and general sectors!  The jobs are few and the applicants many!

I had my tiffin in the evening and got ready to go to office.  I took a metro around 7:30 p.m.  after packing my dinner to the office.  I reached office at 8:30 p.m. and started work.  My target was 500 lines.  I am good at typing.  So I reached the target around 3 a.m.  the next morning.  I went on working and reached 809 lines.  The supervisor congratulated me for reaching a high score in line count.  In our transcription career, line count along with good accuracy gives you accolades and people cheer up and appreciate your work.  I logged off and took my metro around 7:30 from Kalighat.  The metro in Kolkata runs from Dumdum to Tollygonge.  From North to South Kolkata.  This is the fastest means of transport available.  Most of the Kolkatans prefer this rather than bus which stops at every signal on the roads.  The traffic jams spoils your time limit for reaching your destination.

I reached Belgachia which is before Dumdum and walked my way to home.  My house is 10 minutes away from this metro station.  You know it is good to walk in the morning.  A morning walks helps you keep your mind fresh as you inhale fresh air walking across a green environment.  In my neighborhood, there are a lot of trees in the road.  Bus can be an alternative to walking to home but taking bus for short distances spoils your health.

I reached home and took a bath and my breakfast and went to sleep.  I felt better that a day passed out nicely only for the piece of chocolate before lunch.  That piece of chocolate elevated my mood.  That piece of chocolate added flavor.  That piece of chocolate made everything sugary at night and in the time of come in my life!  So I will advise everyone to take only a piece of chocolate a day and see the magic!  It will generate a 'Feel-Good-Factor' in you!  This will boost you in your normal activities and also in your job.
