Lord Buddha has a lotus in hand
His blessing is always there
With a paint on gold in his statue
We see a bright virtue
Leaving his huge wealth
He entered a life of a saint
His life is a model for millions
Of those who can follow his middle path
For those whose life is not perturbed by the rich lifestyle….

Oh Lord Buddha with heart made of gold
Your thoughts outshine other religious thoughts
Your blessing is always there for your followers
With your blessing as showers!!
I give you a bunch of flowers!
At the right devotional hour!

your future in your hand
Never go to any other land
Play in India’s sand
With sand in hand
with love in heart
For your country
There are racial hatred for indians outside
But all Indians are by your side in this land!

opening up mind
should turn someone blind
its hard to find a friend
with whom u can blend
with whom u can send
All your thoughts
that clots
that which u cannot jot
that which u cannot plot
that which rots
spread it …open up
release it like a volcano
whooooooshhhhh!!!!

Darwin is a boat flowing against current
His views very modern
His ideas very bold
Not very popular in church
He had to fight hard
His theory very much original
A man the world respects!
A man who inspires millions of science lovers
A man whose work shows evolution
The evolution is itself a great revolution
Bigger than any revolution in the world!
With hundreds of fossils to support
Its hardly difficult to ignore
A man with such a scientific mind
The theory can hardly be declined!!
The man who journeyed in HMS Beagle
Its he who saw the animal world like eagle!
Exploring the animal planet
From all angles
From all viewpoints

i am at a loss of words
To describe the beauty of your poem
I can describe the plant’s phloem
I can talk about the beauty of nature
But hard to describe the beauty of mind
In One word, “A beautiful Blind”
That turns me blind
Hard to find
A friend like you can be achieved
Only through meditation under the tree in Dakhineswar
Only through God’s blessing
One can get a TRUE FRIEND LIKE YOU
Its only a pure mind that can see u!

Sunset being the most beautiful scene
The sunset at Victoria memorial is worth seeing
With the sky in orange color
With beautiful birds going home
I feel like going home
I wonder if I were a bird
I could have travelled without passport
With energy as my fuel
I could have flown as far as possible
Along latitudes and longitudes
Seen people of variety of races
Seen people both Old and young
Seen both love birds and boys and girls chatting
I could have travelled to North Pole and South Pole
If I were a bird, I could have seen the ice at poles melting
Just as ice cream melts in a room
Man being so developed but can’t protect nature
He loves nature but sees them destroying
He is seeing species getting extinct one by one
He is just a viewer
The consequences of warming are fast
He knows not how long his species will last!!

On October 1, 2009, I was returning from office around 6 p.m. On my way to my home, there is a park where a fair is held every year at the time of Durga Puja. The fair stays till Laxmi Puja. Around my lunch time, it was raining heavily. But now the sky over Kolkata is slightly red and rain is falling very slowly. I was tired. I thought it would be a good time pass to roam in the fair. The fair had few people moving around as it was already raining. There were food stalls on the left, the toy shops, the decorative items, food items like prickles, etc., One stall that drew my attention was the magic stall. The owner of the shop was a boy like me called Laxsman.
I saw a large number of items to show magic in different layers in the shelves on display. I told him to show me the cheapest one. He showed me a game of Rs. 10. It was the game of a dice. The dice shrunk from bigger to smaller size. After my purchase, he showed me the trick. Next comes a rope. This is not a usual rope. It's a magical rope that can stand erect when ordered. Its price is Rs. 50.
I moved towards another magic shop. Another item I purchased was the "Water of India." From this small plastic pot, water moves out ceaselessly. I was fascinated with the magic and found these games very interesting. It might seem insignificant to you but its fun to me and to my mother whose was laughing when I showed her these magic tricks.
I have read about black and white magic in anthropology. These magic tricks are basically white magic as it is meant for entertainment and not for inflicting harm to anybody. Its just for fun and curiosity. We live in a city where many people live and its my curiosity to know the City of Joy and exploring new things in life. People cheat one another. Magic can be a form of cheating. It can be fun to someone and loss to somebody. With hypnotism, people can be controlled and influenced to work according to the magician's needs. Otherwise it would not have been possible to vanish train, Taj Mahal by the renowned magician P.C. Sorcar. I saw his magic when I was quiet young at Mahajati Sadan in Kolkata. I saw his "Water of India" show and cutting human bodies. A few months ago, I was browsing books at the Oxford Bookstore in Park Street, Kolkata and found a book on the world's most popular magic tricks by Townsend. It's a wonderful book. What I think the purpose of magic is to take you into a different world where impossible is achieved with the aid of science and a good knowledge of science could help you invent new tricks to entertain people.
