In the U.S. the Gujjus are known to exploit the system to their advantage and because of that give the entire Indian community a bad name. Take Ambanis for example. Lost of people don''t know that Ambanis came into wealth with Ambani Sr. committing currency crime in Yemen. Just look up what he did to make his money. Gujjus are simply more cunning. Comment on Is buying shares like gambling? by Sanjeev http://blogs.rediff.com/shishirbhate/2006/03/07/is-buying-shares-like-gambling/comment-page-1/#comment-213 Sanjeev #comment-213 Well - gambling essentially means that your probability of recovering your investment is less than 1 (mathematically speaking, the "expected value" of your investment is less than the principal). In stock markets, if you have a diversified portfolio and you stay in the market for a sufficient duration - then there is no doubt that you will have recovered your principal. Hence - stock markets are *NOT* like gambling! Good posts though - keep writing! I would say 90% of the Indian H1Bs in US are of very average intelligance guys who just graduated from very ordinary institutions in India. Offcourse, I am no exception. The basic goal of coming here is just economical. 90% of the H1B jobs in US are software related which any average intelligent person willing to work hard can handle. Most of the real sharp guys get very highly paid jobs in India itself and offcourse they will prefer to stay in India. I have 2 of my under grad collegues who managed to get in to IIT for MTech and got very good paying jobs in India and are working in India since last 5 years and have no plans to go abroad. So, my summary would be that increase in H1Bs is very good for India as many average people would manage to get high paying jobs and in effect raise their family''s standard of living in India and H1Bs impact on brain drain is very minimal. Comment on Are more H-1B visas good for India? by Name http://blogs.rediff.com/shishirbhate/2006/03/21/are-more-h-1b-visas-good-for-india/comment-page-3/#comment-101 Name #comment-101 I think it is good. I''m basically from India went to USA for my graduate studies and returned to India in 1993. Started a career in India and had a fast growth in the Indian corporate world. But I slowly realised that there are 3 India''s. The first one is for the super rich, the other India for the rest of us and the third by the international media propping up India to counter China. I have moved to Canada since 1993 and obtained my Citizenship here and I plan to move to USA on an TN Visa. If you are super rich and with an alternative nationality to bail out on trouble is th way to go back to India. If you are in the middle class then God Save You. It is better to migrate out and send your FOREX and remain nostalgic about the India you have left behind through Hindi movies than to get into the rut in India. If you donot believe me try boarding a Virar-Churchgate local even if it is a first class compartment or try to find a clean urinal in any of India''s busiest cities. I think it is good.
