Love…yes the same love that makes the world go round ,love that nourishes,nurtures,helps grow cant be a mere emotion…an emotion is simply too transient and circumstance dominated to be so powerful..Love..the love we all love to love,the unconditional kind,of the lasting variety is not an endocrinal surge or one of the many chemical activities in the brain…love is a “decision”
Like u love ur baby even before it is born,actually much before it is even conceived…what actually matters are not the qualities of the baby but the decision to love the baby always…
decide to love the people you choose to love…love ur parents(yes they are not perfect) and ur spouse(though they come with their own set of quirks) and ur friends…ur relatives…ur neighbours…the list goes on
Actually I would like to say love everybody…”be love”…but we will keep that aside for now….

This is ur second blog I am reading. Again love is the topic. My understanding of “love’’s manifestation” are: understanding, respect, care and being comfortable in the presence of the object that generates love (could be a pet, a relation or a comp game) in ur heart. Spirituality would classify it as Sattvic (selfless love eg. Mother teresa), Rajasic (selfish love found typically) and Tamasic love (morbid fascination).
Love is the mystery
Neither the woman is a mystery nor is the man a mystery; the mystery is when love happens between them. Alone they are dry deserts. When love comes as a spring it brings thousands of flowers to their being, and much juice, much greenness. Life is no longer just a drag, it becomes a dance.
By loving, the man becomes more polite, nicer, a gentleman, loses his corners, becomes softer. Through love, the woman starts blossoming; other wise she remains a closed bud. Only in love, when the sun of love rises, does she open her petals. Only in love do her eyes start having a different depth, a different shine; her face starts having a joyous outook. She has a deep transformation through love; she comes to maturity, of age.

ther`s one thing i can tell u, not evry phenomenon on earth (or may b none for that matter) can be generalised and a border drawn. each thing can b lookd at frm diffrnt angles n a diffrnt deductionsmay b made. in this case i`d lyk to say 2 things: (1) love doesnt make the world go around, scientifically or otherwise. what about far more higher things lyk mercy n empathy? (2) the decisions may b voluntary or involuntary. and then, aint it the `involuntary decisions` that we call emotions?
and sudheer…dont we love conditionally…only when we approve…that kind of perfection we look frm frm ppl we give our love to!!And I understand a decision as much beyond a minor chemical activity an entire neural pathway that does vanish like the chem activity

Trishna, People “decide” to fall in love, Even love at first sight is a decision, because they find what they are LOOKING for, they had already decided, with whom to fall in love. Its so subconcious that we dont realise it.
