on Invertors and Generators

The fuel and green-conscious Government says, use invertors instead of generators. In metro rail, buses, TV posters etc this notion is spreading. I would like to ask which is better? Generator makes power consumption unsubsidised. Invertor keeps the subsidy. So called sine-wave invertors are not within reach of everybody. Power cuts are caused due to unmanagable loads. Invertors DO NOT generate electricity. And when one can switch to very different alternatives and work style specially during high load times, why not? But thanks to technology all do not suffer. Imagine everybody charging invertors. Long masssive power cuts, invertors would be useless. And what if a  fixed percentage does? Power cut Time increases marginally well within  discharge time and those who suffer are those who cannot afford pay for it. .Poor always cross subsidise the rich whenever it comes to ‘Tragedy of Commons’.It is not that we are using hydal, wave power, wind or neuclear power to a great extent. Thermal power costs as much. Batteries do pullute as well plus regular discharge-wastage. So why no generators? Should those having invertors should be discouraged instead? Not as long as Lobbying is  there and indirect advertising, raising demand and Revenue of some private business houses at cost of State Revenue. Unpardonable error. India is a nation of powercuts, power cuts in summer when you need cooling, powercuts in winter when you need to keep warm. So next time you wanna buy a invertor for your TV set, AC Heaters etc, look outside at the slum outside*,and imagine a child studying there, think of his future as an adult. . . .

*(hopefully not wiped away, may be some power is stolen, but thats not their but politician’s interest of not giving connections, seen police ignoring it?)

I remember the day when whole world kept the lights off for half an hour. I went out to see who followed……..No one!!! Every street and every house was shining like a light ball. When the world followed, india was shining brighter. So whom to blame. Govt? Who did not even bothered to switch off the street lights or we who switched on all the lights available at our homes at that time. We must change to make a change……And the great me who’’s boasting like anything forgot to switch off the light of his room when going out………Pity on me too……….

Hey buddy Subrodip………Thanks for the silent visit. Energy conservation is a difficulty for every govt in india. You say that poor suffers……….But i have seen those so called poor using a wire to get electricity illegally and they proudly do that. The main sufferers are the people who pay their bills regularly. Inverters and generators are equally harmful. Generators kept outside thus causing less harm to human and more to environment, inverters kept inside and causes more harm to human body. We all know that less electricity used is electricity saved.
