Wishful thinking

The other day this frind and me were at the movie waiting in the line to buy the tickets for the 6.30 show. It was a rainy saturday and not too many in the queue. As we waited our turn, i happened to casually say to her ” You know babe, i wish we have some cute guys next to us in the movie, it’ll be good fun”. We were both on our ” lookout ‘ phase. Hopeing we’d run into someone intersting here or there… Neways… So when it was our turn, the guy showed us the seating chart to let us choose our seats.. Purnima was like.,,, take those one next to the aisle.. its got some empty seats.. We mite just be lucky to have some cuties next to us…

Ok, so i bought those seats and we went in, hoping and wishing…

After the national anthem when we settled in our seats… the occupants of the seats next to us came in.. And guess what.. they were cute guys…………………………………………….. BUT all of 12-14 year olds…. Purnima and me just burst out at the sight of them…

“Couldn’t you be precise when you wished woman !!” she said…..”yeah you wanted cute guys .. there they are !!”

Next time when you wish for something like that please specify — that you want cute guys to go around, not those you can baby sit !!!!!

Neways it was a Salman Khan movie and once he came up on the screen we hardly even thot of the ” cute guys”.

One of my friends said to me once ” you know there is this saying which goes like — always be careful of what you wish for.. it might just come true !! “

Yeah true indeed, however i would just put it this way— When you wish and you really wnat it to come true, be VERY VERY PRECISE, what you ask for !!!

Nice thoughts

No one can promise you they will never hurt you, b’coz at one time or another it will happen. The REAL PROMISE is if the time you spent together will be worth the pain in the end.

Even though I know U can handle your life on your own. That doesnt keep me from being concerned and wanting to be there for you, So no matter what, please hold one to this one thought, “I am here for you”.

I am not wealthy but I have a rich heart. I am not the best but I can do better. I may not be right in everything but I am sure I wasnt wrong in choosing you to be a FRIEND.

Good person are hard to find. They are rare and one of a kind. I dont care if I have only few. At least I have one of the best. THAT INCLUDES … YOU.

YOU must have control of the authorship of your own destiny. The pen that writes your life story, Must be Held in your own hand

Count the garden by the FLOWERS, never by the leaves that fall, Count your life with SMILES and not the tears that fall.

To love someone is nothing, to be loved by someone is something, BUT to be loved by one you love is EVERYTHING.

Anybody can be angry - that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way, - that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.

I will never forget a lesson I learnt when I was ten years old.

My teacher, Subramaniam Iyer, was telling us how seagulls fly. I had a billion doubts and he offered as many clarifications. He took us to the seaside and showed us the birds, explaining every movement, every action… Wonderstruck, I listened to my teacher ? the man who, while teaching me about the flight of birds, gave me a purpose in life ? to fly!

People talk of the lack of role models in Indian society. My only statement to such people is ? if we fail in our family system, we have no right to look for moral leaders anywhere outside.

I will not be presumptuous enough to say that my life can be a model for anybody; but some poor child living in an obscure place in an underprivileged social setting may find a little solace in the way my destiny has been shaped. It could perhaps help such children liberate themselves from the bondage of their illusory backwardness and hopelessness.

People wonder how I manage to balance my scientific approach with my spiritual beliefs. I'd say it's very simple. When I look up into the sky, I see a million stars. One star ? the sun ? is enough to keep our whole solar system running. We are yet to discover how many more solar systems are there. The thought is overwhelming! It makes me realize that we are just specks in the universe. It gives me reason to believe that there is something, somewhere that I can turn to. And so, I pray.

I have been given everything I wanted in life ? and much more. I don't feel the need to pray for myself. I pray for my nation, for the people of India, for the young minds that will take this country to the greatest heights.

Well i can go on and on… and come to think of it, instead of sulking and cribbing about the one thing that i don’t have (yet) (i say yet coz i know i am gonna get it sooner or later- thats faith), i have so many things to be thankful for… Imagine getting up one day only to find out all that you have and hold so close to you is gone forever…
Start afresh this weekend. There is so much more to life than just living !!!!!

Flying Mammoth comes to India

World’s largest civilian aircraft, Airbus A380, which can carry 850 passengers in a double-decker format, made its maiden trip to India, touching down at IGI Airport @ 1050 on Monday - 7/05/07

It has a wingspan of 79.8 metres, a length of 73 metres and a maximum take-off weight of more than 540,000 kg. The giant plane has a maximum range of 15,000 km - sufficient to fly from Chicago to Sydney non-stop - and a cruising speed of 900 km per hour.

It is set to challenge the Boeing 747’s long dominance of the jumbo jet market. Airbus, which was created by a consortium of aerospace companies, has heralded the A380 as a triumph of European innovation and cooperation. Airbus sees the giant A380 as future of aviation, responding to airline calls for a bigger plane to meet increasing passenger numbers flying between major hubs.

The manufacturer has firm orders and commitments for 166 aircraft from 15 customers.

The first A-380 will be deployed in regular commercial service with Singapore Airlines later this year. To-date, 166 A380s have been ordered by 16 customers, with the first delivery taking place before the end of this year.

The A380 has completed a highly successful series of route proving flights, underscoring the aircraft’s ability to operate at gateways around the world while also generating excitement that comes with the introduction of a new way to fly.

These latest evaluations involved the participation of A380 customer Lufthansa and were focused primarily on the United States, with the aircraft making visits to New York, Chicago and Washington.

They say marriages are made in heaven.. and sometimes in wrecked fuselages as well.. Read on to find out ….

The Douglas Aircraft Company constructed a DC-9-32 series aircraft with serial number 47442, line number 524 on July 11, 1969 and registered it N1797U. This aircraft was then delivered on August 24, 1970 to THY (Turk Hava Yollari) Turkish Airlines and named “Akdeniz.” It was registered TC-JAG. Valujet then purchased the aircraft on March 17, 1995 and re-registered it to N938VV on April 17, 1995. Valujet then changed its name to AirTran Airlines, and eventually the aircraft was re-registered by AirTran as N838AT on December 10, 1998.

This proud bird flew for a couple of more years when something went tragically wrong on August 8, 2000. AirTran Airways flight 913 en route from Greensboro to Atlanta executed an emergency landing in Greensboro shortly after declaring an emergency due to an in-flight fire and smoke in the cockpit. Fortunately everyone on board escaped serious injury during the evacuation, but sadly, the aircraft sustained substantial fire, heat, and smoke damage and had to be written off. I photographed this aircraft, already in different pieces, in November 2002. The first photo was taken of the rear section of the fuselage, with the registration being covered by tape.

In the remark section of the upload, I asked for help in identifying the aircraft because I had no idea what the registration was! There was no record trail of N838AT after it was written off at Greensboro, so I had no idea that this was indeed that aircraft… well, not yet anyway… I received several emails from devoted Airliners.net visitors trying to assist me in my quest to identify this mystery bird at Maxton, including one from a female Airliners.net enthusiast. Elisabeth emailed me in September 2004 with very detailed research about the possible identity of this aircraft… I was shocked that anyone, especially a female, would go to all this trouble and take the time and effort to send me a long and detailed email regarding a scrapped aircraft. I knew this girl was special! An aviation geek like me, and a female as well! We kept in touch via email for a while and exchanged photos, then began chatting over the Internet. I finally called her in November 2004, and she invited me out to visit her in December (she lived in North Carolina at the time, and I lived in Arizona). We started dating after my visit and I commuted from Arizona to North Carolina every other weekend for 7 months!

By June 2005, I was ready to make a commitment to Elisabeth, so I decided to propose to her on June 5th (her birthday!), and knew I had to do it in a special location. I decided to propose INSIDE the hulk of the aircraft that she had emailed me about!

Fortunately, the aircraft at this location were freely accessible, and we both enjoy venturing into aircraft that are being dismantled (we had visited and ventured inside this particular aircraft on previous occasions), so Elisabeth thought this was “just another visit” to our original aircraft. So it was quite a surprise to her when I got down to one knee and proposed to her!! She immediately said yes, and we continued with our tour of the aircraft… Since it was her birthday as well, we went back to the car and got the birthday cake and bottle of champagne I had hidden in the trunk, and enjoyed them both inside the plane!

 

Elisabeth and I were married in Hawaii in October 2005, and are living a nice life in sunny Arizona. We both still visit Airliners.net quite often, and we both will always have a special place in our hearts for this very special website which ultimately brought us together for a lifetime… So, yes folks… I met my wife on Airliners.net! The best website in the world!!


I do not live in a fools paradise but then stuff like this makes you wanna start believeing in it !!
