The topic which I want to write is such a fact that I am totally confused myself from where to start and where to end. Though it is a never ending subject, I am just making a beginning.
So at present just scribbling whatever comes in my mind .
Few days back, I hope u all remember one of our ilander friend, Amit Agrawal, had started a campaign regarding the plight of girl child. This post is written in relation to that topic only. I had written a Blog previously, but that was just a collection of different topic from the net, but today I want to write something on my own.
First of all I must say Aren’t we all amazed by the fact that at one end we worship goddess in a form of lakshmi, durga, kali, sarswati, and on the other hand we do abort the female fetus in mothers womb itself before letting them to see this wonderful and beautiful world. What a shocking situation and if it is not done then, there r many other ways, after their birth, of killing a girl child.
And in my opinion I think the worst n foremost enemy of female is female itself. In general on a birth of a female in a family, women only say “oh she has given a birth to a baby girl”. They only regret but will they ever realize that she is also a female first and bcoz of it now she is a mother, mother in law or n grand mother? Why does she always forget this? They at once say, “oh lakshmi is born”, but deep down they regret. I am asking one question. Is giving birth to a girl some kind of sin? Or to take o birth as a girl a sin? ….why is such custom in a society that people do celebrate like anything on a birth of a baby boy? [Ya there r some exceptions also but they r very rare that people do celebrate on the birth of a baby girl]
Why???????????
Just for a sec think of a world without women. What it will be like. You can’t even imagine it as bcoz, bcoz of women there is civilization there is a society n every thing is dependant on women / girl / female.
Here I would like to put an example of myself only rather then anyone else.
We are four sisters and yes I don’t have a brother.
It was a common sight in those days to see families having four or more daughters. Does anyone know why? Because of constant social compulsions, a woman is made to think that she SHOULD have a son to carry forward her families' name. So couples keep having children till a son is born in a family.
My mom too was yearning for a son.
My elder sis has 2 daughters, younger sister has 2 daughters and my youngest sis has one daughter n was expecting her second child. My mom went to her to assist her for her delivery with heavy heart just praying that please god do give her one son. Because all our relative often say to my mom, since u have daughter so too your daughters are having daughter and they are not having a son. At that time I feel sorry for my mom and as well as sorry for my sisters too.
Can any one tell me why we have old age home? Just answer me. We have old age home bcoz of the harsh reality that the grown up sons don’t want their parents to stay with them. Then also I can’t understand why people crave for a baby boy n kill baby girl. I just can’t ever figure this out why?????
I have come across many families where daughters are helpful & support their parents in their old age. In one of the cases the parents have four sons n a single daughter. Yet as the sons don’t have time for their parents, the parents are looked after by the same daughter whose arrival in this world was not marked with any celebrations as opposed to the birth of the sons!!!
I wish to put few lines for the female gender.[lines r bit just modified by me not written by me]
The different roles played by a girl from her birth
She is innocent in role of a DAUGHTER.
She is caring in role of a SISTER.
She shows her warmth in role of a FRIEND.
She is passionate in her role of a BELOVED.
She shows her dedication in her role of a WIFE.
We all feel divinity in her role of a MOTHER.
She showers her blessings in role of a GRANDMOTHER.
She is So tough, so tender, so naughty, so charming.
I had begun my previous post with the following lines:
Prabhuji mein tori binti karoon
Paiyan Paroon bar bar
Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Dije
Narak Dije Chahe Dar..
Translated into English, it means,
Oh, God, I beg of you,
I touch your feet time and again,
Next birth don’t give me a daughter,
Give me Hell instead…
–An old Folk Song from Uttar Pradesh
But today I want to request all would be parents to pray for a girl child. They are a real blessing in our life. Just trust me its all I can say. And one more thing plzzzz never pray what is mentioned in above lines.
[Note: I have written the blog to point out the harsh realities of life, especially how this world is so biased against the girl child. I don't want to make a generalization that all girls are good and sons don't take care of their parents, though the trend seems to point out that way more. Please don't take it personally as I said earlier]
