Marathi letter on Transparent SIC Selection given to Maharashtra Opposition Leader Eknath Khadse

August 9, 2011: Yesterday evening, G R Vora, Navin Pandya, Pramod Kadam and I again met Opposition Leader Eknath Khadse to talk about transparent selection of State Information Commissioners.

Last week, when we gave him a letter in English, Mr Khadse indicated his eagerness to take up this cause, and requested us to give it to him translated in Marathi. And so, activists Dr Shrikant Prabhu and Pramod Kadam painstakingly translated it into Marathi.

Along with the Marathi letter containing the 10 main points of the Supreme Court order on the procedure for transparent selection, we gave him a printout of the 73-page order: http://tinyurl.com/SC-sacks-CVC1

As an important member of the three-person Selection Committee for State Information Commissioners (SICs), Mr Khadse is a voice that the government cannot easily brush aside. He feels strongly that the time had come to end the non-transparent way of selecting SICs.

Friends, it will help if you and your friends also send this letter to the leader of Opposition. Please download this MARATHI letter format: http://tinyurl.com/Marathi-letter-SIC-Selection
Print, sign and write your contact details, and send to: Shri Eknath Khadse, Leader of Opposition, Cottage B-4, Opposite Mantralaya, Madame Cama Road, Mumbai 400 032.

Warm Regards,
