The NMMC Standing Committee has completed the debates on the income aspect of the NMMC Budget 2008-09. Lets take a quick at the highlights of the debate held on the income part of the proposed NMMC budget 2008-2009.
• Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik suggested outsourcing to increase income source if apathy prevailed in the municipal administration.
• He suggested the outsourcing of cess to make in additional Rs 125 crore in cess.
• Eateries to be graded for fixation of hotel license fees.

I would like him to answer , what made Mumbai his city ? Just the fact that some idiotic politician somewhere told him it was his ? The only people I would recognise as legitimate possible owners of Mumbai are the Kholis. Others are Jhonny come latelys including Raj Saheb whos own family came from Indore in search of work a couple of generations ago. If that gives them the right to call Mumbai their own, then the British have a larger right, so do the Mumbai Pharsees, etc. But all in all this gentleman is exactly the kind of person I talked about in my new article who believes Raj Saheb speaks gospel when he hasnt even shown it by a single action on behalf of the Marathi manoos be it in his swanky new buildings in Kohinoor Mills complex or the basic language in which he educates his children. ( English medium schools not Marthi medium) I am amazed at this person and people like him telling me to go to my city and do my business. I would like him to answer , what made Mumbai his city ?
