pairon mein chhaaley, haalate-fakir
dheere dheere baith-ta,dhool ka baadal
chhup rahaa sard kohre ki chaadar lapeyt
khamoshi ki aagosh mein paane sukoon
khwaabon ki paalki saji taare sameyt
guzre huye kal se, aane waale kal tak
darmiyaan hai bas raat ki mehfil tanhaa
shabnam ki boond par jhilmilaati chaandni-
ek nayi ummeed ka chaand, baadal se jhaanktaa
