Neros of Indian Democracy

It reminds me the old greek story of Emperor of Greek Nero ,most of us forgot histroy but people in the amids of  so called  developement and market crashes, its even difficult to remember.but who watches so closly indian democracy ,The ruling elite reminds us the Neros,no doubt.where people are uanable to bare burden of recent hike of the petrolium prices and absorbitant prices of vegetables and the consumer goods, but now the Honorable Prime Minister and Honorbale Sonia Gandhi or UPA -Left are not discussing the the issues of the price or pertolium, they are busy discussing about Indo-Us necluear deal, which no body wants or nobodys problem now and thinking of going for  Mid-term elections or not its most worrying thing or think of our ruling elite.but not the prices, they blatantly ingnoring common man problem of price, thinking of elections people will suffer most. and who will control prices?who will solve their problem agian electoins will solve the problem?or abbet the problembs? its irresponsibility on part of the congress party to think of mid-term elections now, instead of solving problems like price and inflation, its  so easy again get into the carridors of power for congress? its nothing but irresponsiblity and arrogance of power.

F for Free software

Freedom is breathe and soul of free software movement and its founder Dr.Richard M Stallman. Whose presence is felt in the Osmania University on 20th of October evening. the free software foundation is credited with developing the GNU ( a recursive acronym for GNU is Not Unix) operating system which is rapidly gaining acceptance acceptance of the public and challenging the ethics and philosophy of corporate IT giants.

The packed Osmania's Tagore auditorium enthralled by his philosophy of freedom and freedom to run, write and execute the programme.he mocked the IT corporates for hiding the source code. He emphasized the knowledge software should be shared and distributed for further improvement. He criticized the DRM (Digital Restriction Management) for restricting the sharing of knowledge.freesoftware only for saving costs but also respecting the individual freedom to write, run and execute the programme.freesoftware eventually reduce the digital divide. He advocated for the free flow of knowledge and he urged the audience to switch over to the freesoftware, to absolve the software knowledge from the clutches of few IT corporate empires.

Dr.Stallman founded the GNU project in 1984, which led to the development of GNU operating system. GNU-Linux is very popular with 20m million users all over the world. and growing rapidly. Since then he received many global awards and doctorates from much university. The Freesotware foundation of India (FSFI) was officially launched as an affiliate of the free software foundation in July 2001.i and my friend Vijay happened attend the seminar by the invitation of my friend Naveen of FSFI, University professors and students and software professionals. a surprising guest to the seminar was a political parties top leader its good sign of course ,leading partner UPA government at centre, CPI(M) politburo member B.V.Raghavulu.

Dr.stallman words made me think of freedom to write, run, execute programme.it is need of hour to think of freedom from few IT corporates, who wanted to restrict the flow of knowledge in the name of Digital Restriction Management.its need of hour to think of freedom, freedom to share and distribute the knowledge. Restricting the knowledge for profits or for few more Dollars is crime against humanity and against the principles of democracy in which we are in.

Abolish death penalty: in the land of Gandhi

"Eye for eye ",we think  of it's a jungle law or law of rock ages, if a democratic society executes the same law ,its pity not just pity but a shame to the whole society. The laws the state implements and the practices the state follows are yard sticks of its culture and its civilization. The way we follow and respects human rights are undoubtedly are the yardsticks of our civilization. We proud to say about our country as land of peace. We reclaim Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi is proud sons of our state. But where are we in the practice?

Many countries abolished the death sentence .Many civilized nations consider it as cruel and inhuman act. It has been abolished de jure or de facto by 106 nations, 30 countries have abolished it since 1990. The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. It violates the right to life. It is irrevocable and can be inflicted on the innocent. It has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments. Very recently Philippines abolished the death penalty for all crimes in June 2006.

The accused in the parliament attack case Mohmad Afzal Guru has been sentenced to death. It's true it's a rarest of rare crime, attacking the pillars of Indian democracy. Its not question of he Afzul Guru a Muslim or a Kashmiri.its not the nature of his crime. The law must change person not to kill him. Our political parties expressed their feeling and political philosophies against or pro for death penalties. Its not surprise to me to some political parties advocating for death penalties. In the Indian society, we love violence and revenge which our Bollywood and regional movies shows, and the movies are hit at the box-office. The movies made Amitab and Sharukh made super stars overnight. It's our perception and ideology but not gandhian ideology neither we practice or preach, we need to change at least now. We must wage war against terrorism with peace and non violence not with Bush agenda or Bliar agenda, with only the Gandian philosophy. Poor people are the worst victims of violence either it is state or private violence.

We need recollect the words of Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi who preached peace and the non 'violence in the sacred land. We must preach their lessons "forgiving even he is your enemy". Capital punishment amount to "revenge"by state which is "unethical "and "unnatural". Death penalty is abhorant under any circumstances. Death penalty is a true symbol of anachronism and a colonial law. We need change these laws to make our societies more civilized and more humanistic.

i belive crime and terrosim lies in our socio-economic and political system ,hanging a few persons without changing the whole system, will not yeild anty results.

Urban Vs Rural: English Divider or Bridge?

The rural and urban divide is open and wider than ever before. The rural youth  waging a loosing battle with their urban counterparts. They are facing the new challenges in getting into the job, in the era of globalization. As a Recruiter in the placement consultancy, I want to share my experience with you. The sinking employment opportunities for the rural youth are evident now. The rural youth became the second class citizens in the country. May be my words seems exaggerated but it's a harsh reality.

My experience in the recruitment industry convinced me the gap in between the rural youth and urban youth, in the terms of knowledge, resources and in the opportunities more wide and it is increasing exponentially. The rural youth who have enginnering, post graduations and management are not able to compete with+2 class urban students. The employment opportunities are decreasing day by day in the government and public sector, and rural youth unable to get into BPO industry. This is infact vulnerable situation for the rural youth.

I had happened to screen a candidate from Andhra University who completed his M.A. (economics) in specialization in the Rural Development. He applied for the post of the web designer. He is not able to speak in English. His economics degree is not useful to him and it did not fetch him a job. His specialization in rural development is not useful to the rural India of which he belongs. Where our rural India is sick of debts and the suicide of farmers and artisans, we are unable to use the youth who have the qualified degrees to regenerate our economy. Both NGOs and Government failed the rural India.

The rural youth unable to compete with their urban counter parts because of English. Communication skills and fluency of English ruining the life of rural youth. Due to the lack of communications, they are unable to get into the good jobs. Most of the student from the rural background come from the schools, which medium of instruction is a regional language. They are studying English as a subject to pass rather a language to speak. A language is creating disparities in the opportunities for rural and urban youth creating new divide in rural, urban youth. The divide like poor and rich divide, digital divide, culturala devide, devide of civilization ect.

The rural youth became the victims in the trap that plated by regional chauvinism and mother tongue advocates. Those oppose the English as medium of instructions send their sons and grandchildren to English medium schools. The best example are Lallo Prasad yadav and Mulayam yadav who opposed English medium, send their children to English medium schools.unfortunarely, politicians making  issue of mother tongue is as sentimental. From the rickshaw puller to prime minister of India want their children to study in English medium schools. It's evident the education itself creating the divide.

The education divide is an uncalled for act of a civil society. A democratically elected government must not create division in the people by its acts or policies. Committees appointed by the successive governments concluded"the nation is built in the class rooms". But in the reality some schools in do not have class rooms and some do not have infrastructure and some do not have teachers. Our welfare state does not even spend 6% GDP on education. The pity of our system can not even provide a single scientific education to our children irrespective of region, religion, caste or creed.

We must demand for single education system for our future generations. Our class rooms must not divide into cast, creed, religion or region. Its not, we against our mother tongue but English should be as taught as medium of instruction to our rural poor children, who cannot afford to send their children to English medium convents.eglish medium schools became a big business today. Poor and middle class people are now robbed by the private English medium schools.because no government English medium schools are available to study. It is the need of hour to act, we must ask government to start English medium schools. Education must not divide this country into poor and rich. Single education system for son of prime minister to a rickshaw puller's son.

If the classrooms build the nation, different education systems or class rooms   build different nations or culture. It ultimately produces different civilisations. These different civilizations can coexist or clash .This development will not augur well for a democratic country. Where our democracy heading for equality or inequality?

Disembarkment from the nature

Love for nature is always

there in my heart

i am as sensitive as

the nature

I love nature as love as

i love my mother

i am neither a tech savvy

nor development savvy

but I am nature lover

at heart
i love shy butterflies

rivers without dams

i love sunsets and sun rises

which we can n't dreamt of

in our concrete jungles

With every new development make

us more insensitive, unkind

and arrogant to the nature

we always thought of above nature

we destroyed forests and building parks

we build the dams destroyed

the sanctity of rivers

we killed butterflies with pollution

and deforestation in the name of development

we lost ourselelves in

the cut throat competition

and globalization

It is not too late

let us start love the nature

let us not sacrifice the nature

on the altar of profits

if nature turns furious

it will wipe out human kind

( Dedicated to the  nature lovers and who are  in fighting for environment and human rights)

Freedom

Freedom will not come

Today,this year

Nor ever

Through compromise and fear

I have as much right

As the other fellow has

To stand

On my two feet

And own the land

I tire of so of hearness people say

Let things take their course

Tomorrow is another day

I do not my freedom when
I’s dead
I can not live on tommmorow
Bread
Freedom is strong seed
Planted
Freedom is strong seed

Planted

In a greatneed

I live here too

I want freedom

Just as you

The ignored :The Tribes of India

Tribes in India are the least participated section of the so called our democracy.they are always at the receiveing end.they deliberately ignored by indian brahmin and upper caste Hindu rulers after independence( politicans the word which i dont like to mention them as).
They are suppersed centuries before and after my be this is not correct to use, they are exploted now and then. The  OBCs manged to get the reservartion  bill, even cabinet approved the bill,it will be tabled soon.the UPA govenment which bosted of saviours of Tribes and Adivais Dalits did make amendments to the Tribal rights Bill 2005.because the corporates turned politicians will loose the cheap raw material from the forest, which eventually desrtroy the environment and tribal eviction from the forests.
the bill give breath to the tribes and their right to jal, jangil and jamin.the govt must act to save the tribes from the corrupt corporate turned politicians.
The sagas explotaions are every where in in India ,it is in AndhraPradsesh with irrigation projects like Polavaram ,mining of Bauxite by Congress MPs Naveen JIndal’sJindal group.its in Orissa,Jharkhand every where.
We must act to save the culture and civilisation of tribes and their right to live.we should demand for the bill of amendments to tribalrights which were proposed by the Joint parlementary committee of all party MPs.
Double speak of CPI:The communist Party of India express solidarity to trbies in Delhi, when it comes to Andhra Pradesh the Party demands for Polavaram project, which desrtoys livelihood of 3laks of tribes and 300 tribal villages and their fertile land and scraping of 1/70 act which prohibits the sale of tribal land in 5th schedule area.the party must sincierly struggle for tribes rather act.
