    Rediff Iland has always been my personal space, where i had my own friends, who shared, collaborated, encouraged, and were part of a community. I had started with Rediff Iland when it just started and all the people i have as friends on the list are those who have been part of that concept. But over the years they have all moved and when i come back to the site i feel lonely and an alien i wish I had the old community back.

    Rediff blogs is no longer the same, while I am told it is different and better (technologically), but it is not for me. So i am moving out. If i have to write without the community i found wordpress much better. So that is where i am moving out to. Any way Rediff Blogs is nothing more than a Rediff facade on wordpress. The blog platform is wordpress.

    I wonder what compelled Rediff to move us out of Rediff Iland. The concept was so different from regular blogging. It was more of a community blog and place for strangers to meet, talk, deliberate and feel nice. We already have blogger, wordpress, yahoo, Facebook and the list continues….Iland was an innovative. But the bosses at Rediff did not feel so and our ilands were caught in an unexpected tidal wave and we either got stranded like me or sunk like many other ilanders that i knew before.

http://sunilscove.wordpress.com/  that is my new online address. I have migrated from here and was able to re-establish. The entire process was like migrating from one house to another. I wanted all my posts, my friends, their comments and everything to replicate at wordpress and after a 6 hrs. haggling at Rediff blogs site i was able to move. (I hope to post how to migrate from Rediff blogs, in a different post following this, i thought this post is not the place)

    I will still try to replicate the posts of wordpress here, it is like one yearning to visit his childhood home once in a while, and feel all nostalgic about it. So u still can leave a comment here if you want to would make me feel nice to see the site still alive. While I will still keep visiting and reading Rediff blogs, I wish all you guys a great journey ahead, both in life and your blog.
