   ha..ha..I have always wanted to write a blog on “Pleasures of smoking”…now a bit too late I think. I stopped smoking on last Republic day (btw, I was only a moderate one of 2-3 cigarettes so it wouldn’t be as heavy as an elephant’s)..Btw, a female colleague once told me that she associated smoking with Machismo(excessive musculanity)..so there are quite some females with elephantine tastes:))

   I loved smoking but quit a long time back for health reasons. Believe me, smoking kills. But I miss it even now. Sigh.

   Now from where did you get the idea that I hold that smoking was a male thing.There is no gender issue here. I’m just saying that you are actually denigrating the names you’ve quoted by trying to establish that the cigarettes that they held on their lips was what added to the extra appeal that they had. Man, those folks had real personalities, the smoking did not add or take away anything from them. John Abraham and the likes are just mass produced . Unka alag se kuch bhi nahi hai and the lack is not because the cigarette that they eschewed. And what are you saying? …. that those who don’t smoke or drink are listless nincompoops? Dil bahlane ke liye, Ghalib, yeh khayal achcha hai:-)

   Nadiraji! No one ever accused me of being gay! holy crap!! “Aadmi hoon aadmi se pyaar karta hoon”?? He heeheee… whatever made you believe women don’t smoke? I know truckloads of desi females who smoke.! I am sure u do to! Forget city babes, even in the villages .. gaon me to khoob bidi chalti hai. Hai na?

   Ab bas bhi karo VT. I just finished watching a Sidney Poiter film . A great favourite. Never saw him smoke. I love Naseeruddin Shaw , not because he smokes. Audrey Hepburn will be adored even if she didn’t smoke. Madhubala, Tanuja will always be sexy even if they didn’t smoke. So please..!!Waise yeh kaise likhna hua..aap gay toh nahi hai?

    kissing does not improve after leaving smoking- old age means other foul smells, the rotting plaque, the smelss of a fat tummy trying to digest yesterdays meals after loading up today…

    try pepsodent! it will rid of teeth too. No plaque. try rat poison. it will rid of the rest!

    this nihilistic view came to me after I quit smoking! at this moment, I find scotch is my main panacea! it cures one of many problems… but to survive that is another thing!

    I agree with you HariOm ji. However, people are not becoming health consious, (ask McDonalds if u don’t believe)… they are simbly becoming more and more goddamn scared and lifeless. I can’t imagine Hollywood without a chain-smoking Humphry Bogart, Audrey Hepburn or a Clint Eastwood. Or bollywood without the b/w Dev Anand. Ray, Einstien, and what not.. Can those pseudo Greek-Gods like John-god-knows-what-Abraham even stand stand next to them, in terms of charisma, 6-8-10 packs all said and done? Schwarzenegger still loves his cigars, btw. Now, that is one big politically incorrect statement to make in these politically correct times. But such is the world. Sigh!

    This is too harsh on smokers. VT… …..About forty years ago, smoking was considered to be a normal thing. Some of the best persons in this world used to be smokers …..with changing times, people becoming too much health conscious, smoking has become a taboo…..smokers are on the look out for a place away from others.

    hahahah… What experience Sarath? No. I have never snogged and elephant’s bottom… but I can can imagine the holy crap stuck there. About the other exp, well me too a smoker and also have kissed.. u know what it feels like… to the other party u know …
