Juvenile I think….

February 9th, 2009

The men I wanna shag….
oh, did I see your tongue just wag..
Did the title ‘ave you in shock
or you knew she was upto some crock..

I pub, I club, I smoke and I drink,
I change my men, before you blink..
Label me as the one who is so easy,
Thump your chest and regale your victory!

But that is all fine, after all am so EASY..

But, YOU..

You ogle at the derobed tattered one
Who is breast feeding her son,
You dont mind sizing up a woman
simply, with your tunnelled vision..

No parent will approve of girls pubbing, you say,
but it’s alright for you to shag a different one each night & day
Chase her, beat her in the name of morality,
after all, you are protecting our culture and dignity

Forget that you came through her womb..
Rush in quick, and send her to the tomb !!

PS I had to change the title…don’t ask me why !!!

  1. Kinshuk

Kush’’s ”Boldly sexual woman”? Of course many men would love every woman to be ”Boldly sexual”. For obvious reasons. If apple falls on a knife or knife falls on the apple, in the end it is the apple that tears apart and knife that enjoys.

  2. hmm… i dont knw what to say ….

  3. I dont see how s a woman who pubs, smokes and drinks and changes her men in the blinking of an eye can be called as a prostitute. A prostitute is a woman who sells herself for money. While the woman you describe does not do any such thing. She is a social creature who is very boldly sexual, like a man who is very boldly sexual, say a casanova. I dont see how that is so difficult to be understood. The poem ends with deriding the self-proclaimed guardians of our culture which is fitting.

  4. Like some of us were discussing, so much intolerance that has sprung up suddenly. Great pix, great lyrics and how true.

  5. you thought juvenile! many others may think otherwise! you raised an issue in perspective, whether others agree with that or not…

  6. Beating up girls to protect culture and dignity…i never knew our cuture allows beating of girls in public! thanks to the hoodlums i was quite unaware of our culture!!!

  7. ..or was it in some other movie of Julia?? ummm, not so sure save for the expression on her face when she said those words! anyway, cheers again :))

  8. u rock gurl! absolutely fantastic piece! ”dicks the size of peanuts” i read here, LOL, i remember Julia Roberts in ”Erin Brok…” as she said those words. u have definitely shaken some grounds here, way to go! :))

  9. Hey Mona, I was also quite disturbed by what happened in Mangalore. Gender violence is a shameful reality. I planned to write too, but I am was not sure I could articulate what I felt. I shall try though. I would like to state though that women going to pubs does not imply that they are loose. But that might be the way pub going women are percieved as.

  10. Yes, in India the women who change their men before we blink are prostitutes - not that they are only called so. Also, when MonaLisa says for men, “but it’’s alright for you to shag a different one each night & day” she again mentions female prostitutes. How will a man get a new woman every night and day to fuck unless he is getting prostitutes? She is not fighting for women - she is fighting for women prostitutes. And on Buddha’’s GB when she says: “they ……. have dicks the size of peanuts and brain the size of mustard..so there.” she is again referring as a gender chauvinist. Those who think breast size is indication of female vigour and penis length equivalent to male courage. Imagine if some man had said something similar: “Her boobs the size of peanuts…” I am sure poets and bloggers like her would write 50 posts on the issue. But she gets away only because she is a female?

  11. Opps, you are indeed a controversial babe…..My 2 bit advice, if i may: Mona, you are doing absolutely wonderful.Dont change a bit(i know how touchy a writer can get, i myself am) coz someone doesn”t like the way you portrayed women…go ahead and write more of such posts….iam absolutely aghast, if men can pub and change women without being called a gigolo, its abhorrent to call a women a whore for the same..

  12. Change Rebel

No one says it doesn”t happen in India. But in India, such women are prostitutes who say: “I pub, I club, I smoke and I drink, I change my men, before you blink..” Or at best, they are call girls. Profession remains the same. “Monalisa” should edit this post and hide her face. Would she delete my comment to save some face? Let us see.

  13. Change Rebel

Nikki says “who do not leave their names or their sites behind” As if Monalisa is her real name? :) Who doesn”t hide his name on the blogs? Just see PAV’’s comment: he has blasted this poem.

  14. Girl girl girl , I am back from my vacation and what do I find - Lisa has been painting the blog country with some beautiful prose. This is one is priceless girl - so so so true - guess the male species can do no wrong and I am quite puzzled by some of the left behinds in your comments column girl - seems those folks live in a total state of denial - amazing that they say it does not occur in India - and then ofcourse you have the perpetual women bashers who do not leave their names or their sites behind - creep in cowardly and spill some garbage and sneak out again - how can these people judge you or your write - it is so nice to read and know that someone stands up. Take care -

  15. coming to think of it- the Rama Sena, like all the Sangh Parivar riff-raff is basically the reincarnated Brown Shirts of Nazi Germany….

  16. Change Rebel

Born rebel will now go editing the content and saving her face :) Winds of change, before you blink :)

  17. its very good..u dont need to change anything about it..last of all bcoz some ppl dont like it..if they can”t handle the truth, then they are exactly whom we are talking about here! someone should subsidize pepper sprays and all will be well! :P

  18. “I pub, I club, I smoke and I drink,
I change my men, before you blink..”
Such women are known “whores” or “prostitutes” - i.e. the dictionery meaning. Please don”t lower the image of Indian women to that level. To Westerners, it does not matter; but not in India. (P.S. My comment is strictly limited to your above quoted line. I, not at all support the Rama Sena elements and their way of protests in Karnataka)

  19. Arun Katyal

Monalisa Smiles in Pardesh. But she doesn”t leave occassions to Speak like Indians. Some times come to Indian pubs too, Mona: we will have Fun! :)

  20. http://thepinkcondomcampaign.blogspot.com

http://thepinkcondomcampaign.blogspot.com/ This campaign has been started as a response to some self righteous and progressive people who started the Pink Chaddi campaign. Their chaddi campaign ends on Valentine’s Day of 2009, but this is just a beginning for us. We are more democratic and transparent that the Pink Chaddi walas. We don’t claim inflated figures of support. There is a poll at the right hand corner of this page, which shows how many people support us, and how many don’t! Condoms are necessary to save yourself from AIDS and to lead a progressive and secular life. The Pink Chaddi walas claim themselves to be pubgoing, loose and forward - a condom will help them maintain being that. We are the ordinary Hindus, who don’t bark on television channels to defend our faith, but we definitely get hurt when some people bark against our faith. We know that not everything is right with Hindu society, and things needs to be improved upon. http://thepinkcondomcampaign.blogspot.com/

  21. Mona though you may have way with words
And your thoughts may be pure ,
Most men will see what women show them
So all you said is not true that is for sure….

  22. One more victim of media. thats you. the media manipulates naive ppl like you mona lisa.a small trifle incident blown out of proportion by media and you singing peans for womens lib. as if pubbing and changing or shagging men is all about womens lib.

  23. I wish those moron moralists read this. You have ripped their skin….your words are sulphuric , to say the least…a potent poem….PGR

  24. tumhey karna to karo…..humey kyon gyan de rahi ho…..hahahahaha….in btw good one!

  25. yep, u r rgt…these custodians of morals dnt kno y they thnk they r rgt….and they dnt even know wt the majority thnks…

  26. Very sharp effective words against the heartless and mindless!!

  27. OMG -we men are feeling exposed… hit below the belt too!!!

  28. who cares

It does not matter that many of us have not thought about Valentine’s Day since we were 13. If ever. This year let us send the Sri Ram Sena some love. Let us send them some PINK CHADDIS. Visit this blog for details. http://thepinkchaddicampaign.blogspot.com/2009/02/welcome.html

  29. You”ve struck befittingly, Monaji, with your superb poem. However, it’’s not only about women. Politicians all over the world can”t tolerate free evolution of culture and want the society trimmed as per their cherished codes.

  30. Wow! You got me gob-smacked. You gave such a beautiful truthful lashing with your wit.

  31. Cheers to Women’’s lib, organized religion is a big factor, when will there be justice and voices heard, not only women but the spirit of the free man.

  32. You are truthful to yourself!

  33. straight talk, kudos.

  34. On the spot, MS, though my mind did wag with the title…..confessional is it? Rightly said…

  35. very well said!

  36. Reminds me of the line from Khaled Hosseini’’s ”A 1000 splendid suns”. Nana tells Mariam “Like a compass needle pointing north, a man’’s accusing finger always finds a woman. Always. You remember that Mariam.” When will the winds of change blow? Can we expect one??…………. sigh! Beautifully expressed in verse MS.

  37. There’’s a saying in Malayalam, which when translated, goes like this … “Whether a leaf falls on the thorn or the thorn falls on the leaf, it’’s always the leaf that has to suffer.” … Sad that, as you said, they forget that they were born of a woman .. :(

  38. You
    You”re my mask
    You”re my cover, my shelter
    You
    You”re my mask
    You”re the one who’’s blamed
    Do
    Do my work
    Do my dirty work, scapegoat
    Do
    Do my deeds
For you”re the one who’’s shamed

You know it’’s sad but true….
