Anita, the girl who sat opposite him, had said those three words to him 24 hrs ago, and he did not know what to say.
“It’s also strange that the people we want dont want us and the people we dont want, love us”, she continued. That second line made so much sense. Anil had to decide on this girl. He was not being fair to her nor himself.
She was a wonderful person. She told him she loved him…..and yet he was scared.
It’s not easy to accept happiness especially when you’ve been let down a million times before. It’s not easy to let someone into your life, give them the right to hurt you, and hope they wont.
Anil listened to her not knowing whether this happiness would come back to hurt him…Hurt him all over again.
But then that is what we call as love. You actually surrender yourself completely in love & become so vulnerable, what ever may come in return………love or hurt. There are no ways of guarding your self against it & if you are doing so, then you are not doing justice with love.

Nostalgia is a good vacation & bad dwelling…as long as Anil will keep looking for the kind of happiness that he is seeking for; he would keep overlooking the one that he has right here, right now & will never be able to find Happiness ever… Anil needs to accept the past as the past & move on without imposing upon the future to bring him his cherished unachieved past..
well, hoping that Love never hurts is ridiculous.. knowingly or unknowingly we are bound to hurt our loved ones at times..more so, if you have given someone the right to hurt you, its all the more unfair to expect them not to exercise their right :P.. Next i feel, the fear is that whether Love is actually there or not Or is it just a fad or a passing phase.. had it happened to me, I would have asked myself : whether i would be able to reciprocate the love that has come to me, in the same way or not… Just because i have been let down before would it be fair to hold on to anyone whose affectionate towards me irrespective of my having or not having similar feelings for them; wouldn”t i be exploiting someone’’s vulnerabilities.. i guess i would have been honest to her & told her that i might not be able to come upto her expectations & needed time until i could develop similar feelings towards her.. if Love is there, it would wait…
sigghhhh…i know where Anil comes from :-)…anyways, hope Anil gives his heart the right of way(yes, one more time)…and let the mind guard the heart a bit, lest it hurt itself
