The Confusion Epedemic

Its declared a stage or phase VI epedemic and it has become difficult to write anything about swine flu in the lighter vein with puns and jokes as families are being berewed of the young.Everything from El Nino to personal hygiene can be blamed but problems are at every stage from screening at airport which although done was grossly lopsided.The doctors posted at the international airports had defective thermal screens as they were not calibrated and an engineer who was one of the passenger who landed at sahar told my relative who is a government doctor of this fact.The passengers were asked to declare if they had fever and fearing quarantine they have cheated on the staff in their questionnare served to them in a formated form.

Passengers at Sahar were bugged when they were hurdled to fill in the atrocious form which I too did when I came from my Europe tour .Its very tiring to do such an activity after long exhausting journeys and my relative was surprised that the form was not given in the plane to fill.This could have been done at the consulate level at emmigration from other airport of boarding.An additional assignment given to the airhostesses could have been finely discharged by this well disciplined cadre of uniformed ladies.

Now if you develop fever you have to report to infectious disease hospital for a test and you have to get on a queue of hundreds to screen .Obviously one is bound to get so stressed out during this   long tedious wait that if you have caught the bug you could land with serious consequence due to the physical torment of going through the demanding task of diagnosis only to prove before you can  get free Tamiflu .

Tamiflu is costly and unavailable as government has hoarded huge stocks .The testing is very costly and not available at many centres.Masks are in short supply.The government which brags about ayurveda does not give serious thought about herbs such as Tulsi Neem Haldi Neelgiri Kapoor and Dhoop in curbing the spread and control of fever in the affected.Influenza is not new and is not news ,what is news is swine influenza and thats the opportunity which the government is using to check if it can use its muscles to take credit of the ultimate demise of the virus which is bound to happen.The public is confused due to stories which are lashing like tidal waves at the newsrooms and offices.The confusion is wellcome .The question is who is going to benefit from the virus.It is bound to last till the business interests of each players are quantified and addressed with negotiations and wherein self interest is the key agenda.It s a shame that health ministers is playing the game of private versus public at such a critical time when government itself has set out its own corporate agenda.Arguments are fake and malafide.Truth is far from evident and hierarchies are set to define  their priorities to profits in terms of credit and bottomline.Its none of our business how much Roche is going to benefit if we are to purchase pills from them.If patients play the role to count the nett incomes of the hospitals then they will stop playing role of patients and police or spy on the institution they are admitted.Leave that to the activists.I think we have stopped playng our basic roles of son,father,brother ,mother sister ,employer,professional etc.We have become self appointed businessmen who have only eye for money and not for our responsibilites and duties.We are not interested in serving our customer to satisfaction.We are looking to profits and this culture is fast spreading.Epedemics will come and go.It only tests our integrity and immunity .But we are all failing due to lack of focus and teamwork and commitmets.We are those corrupt confused pack of self aggraindised gullible stupid citizen waiting to be shoked by many more viruses and abominably loosing to eventualities one after other yet we cry hoarse of SHINING INDIA.Its Shaming India and Sinning India.
