The best technology for the ride of a lifetime

Posted by Sundeep Gajjar( Sunny )

Whenever you are supposed to do something very important in your life, you know either it will go the way you want it, or it will have a will of its own and in all probabilities every decision you make will be influenced by many external elements as well as on the decisions that you might have made in the past. Planning, speculation, hope and despair are some of the emotions that we have because of our inability to forsee the 'hard coded' future. No one can see the future, therefore, technically no one has the right to lose hope, because he simply cant say when things will start getting better.

But we have to do our best, more so when we are supposed to go 20,000kms on roads almost unknown to us, meeting people who speak more than 500 different languages, and visiting places with names which would be so tough that a wordwide tongue twister competition can be organized around them. Having solid technology backing up you is very important. Since two wheelers are the most important element of our trip, we were pressed hard to find two wheelers which were a little different from the group of been there and done that. Kinetic, even while being a relatively 'small' giant had a wide variety of powerful Italian automatics and Korean imports which were accepted very well elsewhere in the world. We chose two Kinetic Italiano Blazes ( 170 CC ), a Kinetic Italiano Jupiter ( 250cc / 150 cc ) and a Kinetic Hyosung Comet ( 250cc ). Accompanying these will be one of the world's most advanced production superbikes ' the Fireblade CBR 1000RR with a top whack of 300kmph.

Obviously, we also required the vehicles to be as fit as possible during the trip, on the road. Any body even mildly versed with automobiles will know that many performances on the road have been lost due to bad quality engine oils. xBhp was lucky that it was associated with Castrol since the past one year ( 2005 )before this trip was even conceived .

For this special ride which is a test of endurance for man and machine we were offered Castrol Power1, which is Castrol's premium offering for 4 strokes worldwide in 30 countries and now, fortunately, was available in India. I was also fortunate enough to be at the place where the Castrol Power1 launch party was help in the DLF gold course in Gurgaon and met up with Castrol's new brand ambassador, and a true blue biker ' John Abraham. The Castrol Power1 comes with a power release formulation which gives benefit for better acceleration. It has Castrol's developed Trizone Technology which ensures that the bikes 3 critical parts ' the engine, the clutch and gears receive optimum protection without compromising performance. It also reduces clutch slippage.

We will be using Power1 while covering 20,000kms over varied conditions ' highest altitudes, humidity etc.
