I found this on net today

The tears I shed, I forgive.
The suffering and disappointments, I forgive.
The betrayals and lies, I forgive.
The slandering and scheming, I forgive.
The hatred and persecution, I forgive.
The punches that were given, I forgive.
The shattered dreams, I forgive.
The dead hopes, I forgive.
The disaffection and jealousy, I forgive.
The indifference and ill will, I forgive.
The injustice in the name of justice, I forgive.
The anger and mistreatment, I forgive.
The neglect and oblivion, I forgive.
The world with all its evil, I forgive.
Revolt, I replace with music that comes from my violin.
Pain I replace with oblivion.
Revenge, I replace with victory.
I will be able to love above all discontentment.
To give even when I am stripped of everything.
To work happily even when I find myself in the midst of all obstacles.
To dry tears even when I am still crying.
To believe even when I am discredited.

UNIVERSALITY OF PRAYER…

Got this form a friend and was obliged to share it with you…

A minister passing through his church in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar  and see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened, a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw the man hadn’t shaved in a while.
His shirt was kind a shabby and his coat was worn and frayed,
the man knelt, he bowed his head, Then rose and walked away.
In the days that followed, each noon time came this chap, each time he knelt just for a moment, A lunch pail in his lap.
Well, the minister’s suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him, “What are you doing here?”
The old man said, he worked down the road. Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time, For finding strength and power.
“I stay only moments, see, because the factory is so far away;
as I kneel here talking to the Lord, This is kind a what I say:

“I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD, HOW H APPY I’VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER’S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDA Y.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY.”

The minister feeling foolish, told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome To come and pray just anytime.
Time to go, Jim smiled, said “Thanks.”
He hurried to the door The minister knelt at the altar, he’d never done it before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love,  and met with Jesus there.
! A s the tears flowed, in his heart, he repeated old Jim’s prayer:

“I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD, HOW HAPPY I’VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER’S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY.”
Past noon one day, the minister noticed that old Jim hadn’t come.
As more days passed without Jim, he began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried, But he’d given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them, Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious. Changed people, were his reward.
The head nurse couldn’t understand why Jim was so glad,
when no flowers, calls or cards came, Not a visitor he had.
The minister stayed by his bed, He voiced the nurse’s concern:
No friends came to show they cared. He had nowhere to turn.
Looking surprised, old Jim spoke  up and with a winsome smile;
“the nurse is wrong, she couldn’t know, that in here all the while
everyday at noon He’s here, a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,Leans over and says to me:
“I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM, HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN. ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY, I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY.”

Poem I downloaded from internet

Most of us have already read ths but still downloaded if from the Net:

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Is it good to make compromises in order please others?

I read following few lines shared by one of my friends on a social network forum.

“If every one around you seems to be happy it means that you have made lots of COMPROMISES in life”

This started a debate amongst some of us. Some friends stated that may be this was the reason why they found so many people unhappy with them because they chose to differ. This seems to be true for all of us. When we try to differ or decide not to tow the line of others they instantly get upset and give you an idea about it too. Then one of my friends wrote:

‘If your family including your children say they are tolerating you because they can’t do away with you but as such you are not
required, what will you do? The condition is if you quit the whole family will collapse”

This is the extreme but sometimes one does feel a bit like this in situations where one know that what he/she intended to do was right but, to avoid scene and bad feeling he/she suppressed their own feeling and towed the common line. It is not that you have made lot of compromises but you have just played cool!! You have not allowed your ego or losses come up in between you and your happiness you get by giving. What’s the big deal? We do things to make ourselves happy and also those whose happiness matters to us, compromise is a tricky word to get trapped. As long as you are happy doing what you want and not being insensitive and dis-compassionate, guess everyone who matter to you will be happy. However in this you feel let down by the others.

Is this the way to live?

May be not some time we should put foot down and do what is in our conscious. If you are happy then you will make others happy.

Why are we here?

A good friend of mine just put forward few questions which came across his mind and I replied them in my own way. See if you can put anyhting better so that we all may get enlightened.

Q. Why life was placed on this planet

First of all the life was not put on this planet, it was life that chose this planet! As the gases cooled, after the supernova that created this solar system of ours, the temperature of earth started cooling. In this cooling, the matter that was accumulated in fusion of the earlier bigger star stated segregating according to the weight and density. This cooling down, created conducive environment for the formation of primordial sea. In this sea the salinity and the acidity and the temperature create the first life form which not only survived but also adopted to procreate. Subsequently the more complex life forms were formed. Thus this planet provided what was needed for life to sustain itself. If similar environment exists at any other place, the life forms like earth will start and flourish.

Q. Why we are sent here are we some sort of experiment?

Energy of any kind tries to attain most stable stage. May be the soul (which can be considered as some kind of energy that is required to run any kind of life form), wants to attain the stable stage i.e.  to get free from the cycle of life and death, had to take birth various life form in order to discharge/release the extra energy it gained as result of actions (KARMA by virtue of deeds and thoughts in various life forms and cycles of life and death and get attached to the super soul PARAM ATMA).

Q. When particular type of elements get together they form something similarly we could possibly a combination of reaction of atoms hence we are not created we get created as an aberration in the universe which is just made up of atoms?  (but if we can realize that then probably we would be able to cure any disease, old age and everything or probably we would be able to find a solution of converting ourselves into energy which will exist forever!

There are some reaction that are irreversible! so is the case with the aging and growing process of human body. Imagine we all started in a similar way with few atom that are not even visible to the naked human eye and finally in our prime age we are but millions time bigger and much more complex being with so many system running simultaneously without even our conscious interference.

In case of atoms coming together to form element there is involvement of energy, which too is governed by some fixed quantity (packets). And as for diseases, aging etc. these are all encoded in the DNA and gentic code if I am not wrong so the day man solve the mystery of DNA and genetic code all these thing can be solved easily.

Also when ATMA (A small unstable energy packet which gets refined in various processes of births and deaths) get attached to PARAMATMA (the most stable energy sink) it would be able to find a solution of converting itself into energy which will exist forever, but in this process the ME will get lost and there will be no I or if we say ego will be left.

Imagine process of a water drop (in a sea or water body) going through the cycle of evaporation, cloud formation, rain getting stored in various ways (river streams in some living being etc.) then again flowing back to the source (sea), and time taken in all these process immaterial.

JUST THINK AND MEDITATE ON !!!!!

UNIVERSAL BELIEFS

Christian tradition
A protestant priest, having started a family, no longer had any peace for his prayers. One night, when he knelt down, he was disturbed by the children in the living room.
"Have the children keep quiet!" he shouted.
His startled wife obeyed. Thereafter, whenever the priest came home, they all maintained silence during prayers. But he realized that God was no longer listening.
One night, during his prayers, he asked the Lord: "what is going on? I have the necessary peace, and I cannot pray!"
An angel replied: "He hears words, but no longer hears the laughter. He notices the devotion, but can no longer see the joy."
The priest stood and shouted once again to his wife: "Let the children play! They are part of praying!"
And his words were heard by God once again.

Muslim tradition
A blind man was begging on the road to Mecca, when a pious Moslem came over and asked whether the people were giving generously ' as the Koran commands. The man showed him his little tin, which was almost empty. The traveler said:
' Let me write something on the card around your neck.
Hours later, the traveler returned. The beggar was surprised, for he had received a large amount of money.
' What did you write on the card? ' he asked.
' All I wrote was: Today is a beautiful spring day, the sun is shining, and I am blind.

Jewish tradition
Dov Beer de Mezeritch was asked:
"Which example should one follow? That of pious men, who devote their lives to God? That of scholars, who seek to understand the will of the Almighty?
"The best example is that of the child," he answered.
"A child knows nothing. It hasn't yet learned what reality is," people commented.
"You are all quite wrong, for a child possesses three qualities we should never forget," said Dov Beer. "They are always joyful without reason. They are always busy. And when they want something, they know how to demand it firmly and with determination."

KEY TO SUCEESFUL MARRIED LIFE !!!!!

I came across this and wanted to share this with no offence ethier way.

This is very interesting…………(to women) please take time to ponder……..(to men) enjoy the story……..

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighbouring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur’s youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, If after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death. The question was: What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, And to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, He accepted the monarch’s proposition to have an answer by year’s end. He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: The princess, the priests, the wise men, and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer. Many people advised him to consult the old witch, For only she would have the answer. But the price would be high as the witch was famous through out the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged. The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first. The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, The most noble of the Knights of the Round Table, And Arthur’s closest friend! Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunch-backed and hideous, had only one tooth, Smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden, But Lancelot, having learnt of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur’s life. And the reservation of the Round Table. Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered. Arthur’s question thus: ‘What a woman really wants?’ She said, ‘Is to be in charge of her own life.’ Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth. And that Arthur’s life would be spared. And so it was. The neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom. And Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding. The honeymoon hour approached and, Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened. The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, She would henceforth be her horrible and deformed self only half the time. And the beautiful maiden the other half. ‘Which would you prefer? She asked him. ‘Beautiful during the day …. or at night?’ Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day he could have a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, But at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch! Or, Would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day? But by night a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous, intimate moments with? (If you are a man reading this…) What would YOUR choice be? (If you are a woman reading this) What would YOUR MAN’S choice be? What Lancelot chose, is given below: Noble Lancelot, knowing the answer the witch gave Arthur to his question, He said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself. Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time. Because, he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life. Now… what is the moral to this story? The moral is… 1) There is a witch in every woman no matter how beautiful she is! 2) If you don’t let a woman have her own way, things are going to get ugly. So, always remember: IT’S EITHER ‘HER WAY’ OR IT’S ‘NO WAY’

DATE WITH A WOMAN

Dear all I got this in mail and was really moved. I hereby post for all of you..

After 21 years of Marriage, my Wife wanted me to take another Woman out to Dinner and a Movie. She said I Love You but I know this other Woman loves you and would Love to spend some Time with You. The other Woman that my Wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a Widow for 19 years, but the demands of my Work and my three Children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to Invite her to go out for Dinner and a Movie.

‘What’s wrong, are you well,’ she asked?

My Mother is the type of Woman who suspects that

a Late Night Call or a Surprise Invitation is a sign of Bad News.

‘I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,’ I responded.

‘Just the two of us.’

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, ‘I would like that very much.’

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit Nervous.
When I arrived at her House, I noticed that she too seemed to be Nervous about our Date. She waited in the Door with her Coat on. She had Curled her Hair and was wearing the Dress that she had worn to Celebrate her last Wedding Anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as Radiant as an Angel’s.

‘I told my Friends that I was going to go out with My Son, and they were impressed, ‘

She said, as she got into the Car.

‘They can’t wait to hear about our meeting’.

We went to a Restaurant that, although not Elegant, was very Nice and Cozy.

My Mother took my Arm as if She were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the Menu. Large Print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A Nostalgic Smile was on her Lips.

‘It was I who used to have to Read the Menu when you were Small,’

She said.

‘Then it’s Time that you Relax and let me Return the Favor,’

I responded. During the Dinner, we had an Agreeable Conversation, nothing Extra-ordinary, but catching up on recent Events of each others Life. We talked so much that we missed the Movie. As we arrived at her House later,

She said, ‘I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.’

I agreed.

‘How was your Dinner Date?’ asked My Wife when I got Home.

‘Very Nice. Much more so than I could have Imagined,’ I answered.

A few days later, my Mother died of a Massive Heart Attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have Time to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an Envelope with a Copy of a Restaurant Receipt from the same place Mother and I had dined.

An Attached Note Said:

‘I paid this Bill in Advance.

I wasn’t sure that I could be there;

But nevertheless, I paid for Two Plates '"

One for You and the Other for Your Wife.

You will never know what that Night meant for Me.
I Love You,

My Son.’

At that moment, I understood the Importance of saying in Time:‘I LOVE YOU!’

and to give our Loved Ones the Time that they Deserve
.

Nothing in Life is more important than God and your Family.

Give them the Time they Deserve, because these Things cannot be Put Off till ‘Some Other Time.’

Attachment to materialistic thing cause of pain

Genuine love and kindness is desperately needed in this world. It comes from appreciating the object, and rejoicing in the object, wanting the object to be happy and well, but holding it lightly, not tightly. And this goes for possessions too. You are in an extremely materialistic society in which the possession of more and bigger and better is held up as the total criteria for being happy.

What we own is not the problem, it’s our attitude towards our possessions. If we have something and we enjoy it, that’s fine. If we lose it, then that’s OK. But if we lose it and we are very attached to it in our heart, then that’s not fine. It doesn’t matter what the object is, because it’s not the object which is the problem. The problem is our own inner grasping mind that keeps us bound to the wheel, and keeps us suffering. If our mind was open and could just let things flow naturally, there would be no pain. Do you understand? We need our everyday life to work on this, to really begin to see the greed of attachment in the mind and gradually begin to lessen and lessen it

There’s a famous story of a coconut, which is said to be used in
India
to catch monkeys. People take a coconut and make a little hole just big enough for a monkey to put its paw through. And inside the coconut, which is nailed to a tree, they have put something sweet. So the monkey comes along, sees the coconut, smells something nice inside, and he puts his hand in. He catches hold of the sweet inside, so now he has a fist. But the hole is too small for the fist to get out. When the hunters come back, the monkey’s caught. But of course, all the monkey has to do is let go. Nobody’s holding the monkey except the monkey’s grasping greedy mind.

Nobody is holding us on the wheel, we are clinging to it ourselves. There are no chains on this wheel. We can jump off any time. But we cling. And clinging causes the pain.
