SHILPA & BIG CELEBRITY RACISM

SHILPA & BIG CELEBRITY RACISM

15-20 January 2007

I believe that I am 'civilised' enough to write this article. The timing just couldn't be any better than this. After watching the 'Celebrity Big brother' reality show on Channel4, reading articles and blogs in the British and world media, I believe that it is time for all to do some serious thinking. I feel that the western society must come into terms of what's is actually happening within their so called tolerant society. It is very easy to make an excuse that the reality show is after all a television programme and shouldn't be taken into consideration. This show has been viewed all over the world and discussed by the public and mass media. Sadly, more than 2.3 million teenagers do watch this reality show for the last 7 years in Britain. Don't the housemates know these facts? Doesn't the show reveal some reality? In the show, housemates Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd, Jo O'Meara have had 'ganged up' against fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty and made fun of her English accent, nationality, ethnicity, were not prepared to call her by name, were reluctant to eat the roast chicken cooked by her, described her a "Paki", the disgraced Miss Great Britain Danielle even called her a ‘Dog’, used 'very filthy' language repeatedly, and even asked her to 'Go back to the slums and find out what real life is'. If this is not racially motivated abuse, please define what is 'racism' in your terms? If you say 'Oh..no..it is nothing but just bullying', log into YouTube.com and watch the recorded show and then come back to read this article. It is quite easy to argue and dispute that all these were the result of total ignorance, stupidity and playground type bullying. Grow up!! Bullying and racism are not two difference things. They are indeed the same wine in two different bottles, served to two different people!!

Understandably, the feelings and emotions are now running high on all corners. The British media regulator ofCom and Channel4, which broadcast the show, had received more than 55,000 complaints from the public in just four days!! This issue heads in all local newspapers, news websites, blogs and chatrooms. Blair was forced to comment on this row. The next British prime minister-in-waiting Brown is having tough time in India!! I believe that Indian Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh and Indian President Mr.Abdul Kalam are the only people left to comment on this issue!!!

I live in the United Kingdom, so I would like to see the whole issue in two mirrors. I honestly respect all 'Non-Racist British' in Britain. I am fortunate enough to have few of them as my friends, who understand that the colour of our blood is always going to be red but the colour of our skin is unfortunately not. (We blame it on God's politics!)

Let me begin with the very root cause of this whole issue. Even the Asians who were born and brought up in Britain are being classified as 'British Indian', 'British Sikh', 'British Pakistani' and 'British Muslim'. This is how they are tagged in government forms and documents. How sick these race tags are? Aren't they British enough to be 'British'? This is surely leaving negative impact on the minorities. They think that how much ever British they are, they will always remain as minorities in Britain. This is pure racial dejection. Then, what is the point of talking about that minorities are not integrating well into British society? The sad thing is that nobody seems to care about it including the British government. The same British government, every year does celebrate Diwali and Ed festivals in a spectacular manner!!! Surprised? I personally think that the British government itself is very confused about it's racial policies or they are playing very tricky 'double game'. This is clearly sending the wrong message among majority British. That's why many think and act that it is OK to racially abuse anybody from the minority community. The result is what exactly the world had witnessed for the last six days in Jade-Shilpa's race row. It is time for the British government to wake up.

I am not surprised at all on this wildfire racial row. The three Big Brother gang girls are drop of the today's British society and surely reflect the growing new generation of future Britain. The Big Brother house is actually a small portrait of today's modern Britain. Don't mistake me? In a large portrait, this is how the great British society will exactly look like in next 50 years time. I mark my words without a second thought. The abuse and racial comments on Shilpa do 1,000% truly reflect the British and European societies attitude on racism especially on all non-whites. It is time for the western world to publicly admit that racism in all forms and size still does exist in the society. Because, many who receive racial abuse, usually tend to ignore rather than challenge it out. That doesn't mean they accept it at heart. It's a serious problem. Worth fighting than 'War on Terror'. For all those who are not minority British, it isn't easy to realise how serious racism can be. Asians living and working in Britain such as students, doctors, nurses, taxi drivers, teachers, shop owners, restaurant waiters, call centre personnel and even community police officers do often go through more or less the same kind of racially motivated verbal abuse. At the worst, get beaten by group of racist thugs. I swear on my words. I am not exaggerating it. I had gone through the same sort of verbal abuse before and still go through it now and then. I have been called 'Indian' on many occasions in a tone, which is definitely not polite and friendly way that anyone would like to be called upon. I don't like to call any non-Asian like that. The arrogant, ignorant, economically, ethically and culturally failing western society is facing some serious social problems. Racism will top in that list without doubt. Who is going to handle these problems?

The reality show indeed reflects the reality of British youth's attitude towards the society and living. I am not at all surprised to hear abusive language in reality show. Certainly you could hear them from groups of young boys and girls on British streets. Well..What else would you expect from the boys and girls of today's British society, where 13 years old lads and girls smoke, drink and use drugs, losing virginity at the age of 14 is just a matter of self-pride, having babies at the age of 15 is OK and becoming common, the average life span of a formal marriage is just over 16 months, many live together unmarried, many don't know who is their mother or father is and the divorce rate is 40% higher than any European union country. There are various reasons for this social catastrophe. Today's young British are not well educated, they distance themselves from Maths, Science, and general knowledge subjects, they are very proud of binge drinking, smoking, sex on the streets, honking the car horns and yelling racist remarks. They are ignorant souls and sadly the face of future British society. Who is going to teach them about racial tolerance and respecting people as humans? Their stupid British prime minister is very busy with the arrogant American president on bringing back democracy and peace in Iraq and Afghanistan!!! In this nation, some think that waging war on a country is just like playing a video game. It is OK to think like that in this so called developed country with underdeveloped people. Many British do have big attitude disorder and do think that the rest of the world is still ruled by their great grand fathers & company. They still do believe that the Sun will never ever set on their kingdom. What else I can say? The British public is not aware of what is happening within their country and in rest of the world. They don't have the necessary urge to learn new skills, acquire knowledge, and stay competitive in the global world. They probably don't want to know about anything as long as they can afford to buy fish & chips and pukha pies. All they know is to eat, to do binge drinking in 24 hour pubs (Yes. 24 hour pubs!!!), to be illiterate (I bet many can't read and write English properly) and claim free government social benefits to go on holiday abroad. Can anyone say this is not what is happening in Britain today?

In a country like Britain, racism doesn't just exist due to ignorance. Ignorance is the result of complacent and confusion. I could sense the fear of failure among British in this rapid world, in which they are struggling to keep up with the changes and challenges. Today's Britain is steadily losing its ground on economical, cultural, and social front, which were once the proud symbols of British colonialism. The British are confused about their obsessed identity in multicultural Britain. Instead of turning it into their advantage, they are turning it away. In general, the British are not willing to accept other cultures into their day-to-day lives. Whereas, the Asians are far more broadminded, tolerant, patient when it comes to living in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic society such as Britain. Even though, Asians didn't integrate 100% into the British society, I would say that they are well on their way towards it or realising the necessity to do it. So, I am prepared to put a bet that before the end of this 21st century, Britain will have an Asian Prime Minister. I am not joking.

Even though, the Eastern Europeans are coming into Britain like waves of sea flood. It's somehow still OK for the British public. Because, the Eastern Europeans are from the so-called enlarged European Union (21st century great political joke) and they are somewhat the same colour as British. Also, the British public and politicians do think that the non-Europeans are culturally and economically invading all corners of Britain today. They are getting jealous of dominant Asian minority. That's why there are tougher visa restrictions, delay in issuing visas, recent 'motivated' HSMP revision and the increase in number of years to apply for residency in Britain are all indirect means to keep the 'Browns' away from Britain. Let me explain it a bit more. Today's great British politics, lifestyle, business, economy and national cuisine (Chicken Tikka Masala is the national dish of Britain since 2000!) are being greatly influenced by the Asians. A very remarkable feat that the Scottish, Irish and Welsh trio couldn't able to do for several centuries and had totally failed. Also, majority of the Asians are well educated, intelligent, smart, beautiful in heart, hard working and economically prospering than ever before. If the first wave of Asian migrants helped to revive the shops and stores on Britain’s streets, the second and third generation of Asians are now making their mark on the financial and business world. Now, India is the third largest global investor in Britain next only to US and Japan. Indian companies are taking over many not-so-profitable British companies and turning them into profitable. Thus, creating jobs for the British. Remember richest citizen of the United Kingdom is not a native British but India born Steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. He has recently donated £2 million pounds to the cash-strapped ruling Labour party, almost certainly bailing it out of financial crisis. There is a list of endless contributions made by the Asians to today's modern Britain. It is just impossible to blindly ignore the imposing stature of Asians and Asianism in Britain. Without the Asians, the British public services and healthcare will crumble in matter of days. Without the Asians, the British economy will not survive for more than a month. Don't the Asians deserve to be treated as 'British' in 'Britain'?

On the other side, this whole issue raises the same questions about our own society. Are we Indians really not racists? Is it OK and justified to racially discriminate fellow Indians? But, it becomes an issue when Non-Asians dish it out on us? We actually don't respect fellow Indians in India and abroad. Don't we? We have got several racial problems within our country and society. Don't we all know that the North Indians bully and discriminate the South Indians as 'Madarasis'. The South Indians bully the North Indians by calling them as 'Biharis'. We are the largest racist society on this planet, which practised and still practising all forms of racism, discrimination and bullying in the name of god, caste and culture. We are talking about it for more than 100 years. Nothing has been changed significantly. When are we going to change it? Let us bring our house in order before pointing out finger at others.

One of India’s great strength is its ability to adapt diversity. That's what India is all about. It is indeed a very quite remarkable for a country like India, where the majority of the population is Hindu. But, our current president is a Muslim, the prime minister is a Sikh and probably the most influential lady in India is sari wearing Italian born Catholic. I cannot think of any other country in the world that could accept such a diversified political scenario. This is truly remarkable and it works very well in India. Whereas, in the US, the Americans are still waiting to have a Black or Hispanic as American president and the US has been a democratic country for more than 200 years!!! Whereas India's democracy gained it's status 60 years ago, we have already had several minorities as presidents, prime ministers, chief ministers, ministers, military chief of staff, and supreme court judges. This is the great strength that India has. We are humans first, then Indians, then Punjabi, Gujarathi, Bengali, or Madarasi. Forget about race, religion and colour. So, It is time for us to do some reality test on ourselves. It is time for us to accept that we are really racists and do something about it. When we are going to announce that racism and discrimination in any form, any size is punishable crime and has no place in civilised India? We can. Let us do it now before it is too late.

Our world will become a happy place to live when we love each other in heart and without discriminating anyone by their race, ethnicity, religion, faith, and wealth. Let’s grow up. When we are going to be one big loud and proud Indians? It is shame on us if we can't do it. Share your views.

COMPOSITION OF BALANCED DIET

Health is also one form of wealth. To achieve it, a good composition of food diet is required in our eating habits. Since food is our primary source of energy, our dietary requirement will vary according to our energy requirement per every day. If food is meant to produce energy, what we eat everyday must also be planned accordingly. Choosing the right food is the only way to good health.

The food we eat and the quantity of food we require per day is directly proportional to the amount of energy we need. Food energy is measured in terms of heat units called calories.

The human body requires food to provide energy for all life process and for growth, repair and maintenance of cells and tissues. The diet needs vary according to age, sex and occupation. A balanced diet contains different types of foods in such quantities and proportions that the need for calories, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients are adequately met and small provision is made for extra nutrients to with stand short duration of leanness. Eating a well balanced diet and staying at your ideal weight are critical factors in maintaining your emotional and physical well being. Being over weight/under weight can lead to certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and so on.

Fluid intake in the form of water and water-based drinks is also essential for good health. Water is essential for the correct functioning of the kidneys and liver. At least 2 litres of water should be drunk each day, more in hot weather.

BENEFITS OF SPORTS & EXERCISES

He, who has health, has hope, and he who has hope has everything, says the proverb. But health lies in fitness of the body. There is no royal road to it but through toil. And the only way a person can be fit as a fiddle is through exercise and sports.

You’ve probably heard countless times how exercise is “good for you” but did you know that it could actually help you feel good, too? Getting the right amount of exercise can rev up your energy levels and even help you to feel better emotionally. Experts recommend that adults must do at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. There are three components to a well-balanced exercise routine: aerobic exercise, strength training, and flexibility training.

Rewards and Benefits

Exercise benefits every part of the body, including the mind. Exercising causes the body to produce endorphins, chemicals that lead a person to feel peaceful and happy. Exercise can help some people sleep better. It can also help with mental health issues such as mild depression and self-esteem: If you feel strong and powerful, it can help you see yourself in a better light. Plus, exercise can give people a real sense of accomplishment and pride at having achieved a certain goal - like beating an old time in the 100-meter dash. Exercising can help you look better, too. People who exercise burn calories and look more toned than those who don’t. In fact, exercise is one of the most important parts of keeping your body at a healthy weight. When you exercise, you burn food calories as fuel. If a person eats more calories than he or she burns, the body stores them away as fat. Exercise can help burn these stored calories.

Exercising to maintain a healthy weight also decreases a person’s risk of developing certain diseases, including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. These diseases, which used to be found mostly in adults, are becoming more common in teens.

Aerobic Exercise

Like other muscles, the heart likes a good workout. You can provide it with one in the form of aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise is any type of exercise that gets the heart pumping and the muscles using oxygen (you’ll notice your body using oxygen as you breathe faster). When you give your heart this kind of workout on a regular basis, your heart will get stronger and more efficient in delivering oxygen (in the form of oxygen-carrying blood cells) to all parts of your body.

In addition to being active every day, experts recommend that teens get at least three 60-minute sessions a week of vigorous activity. If you play team sports, you’re probably doing more than that recommendation, which is great! Some team sports that give you a great aerobic workout are swimming, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, and rowing. But if you don’t play team sports, don’t worry; there are plenty of ways to get aerobic exercise on your own or with friends. These include biking, running, swimming, dancing, skating, hiking, and walking quickly. In fact, the types of exercise that you do on your own are easier to continue when you leave high school and go on to work or college, making it easier to stay fit later in life as well.

Strength Training

The heart isn’t the only muscle to benefit from regular exercise - most of the other muscles in your body enjoy exercise, too. When you use your muscles and they become stronger, it allows you to be active for longer periods of time without getting worn out. Strong muscles are also a plus because they actually help protect you when you exercise by supporting your joints and helping to prevent injuries. Muscle also burns more energy when a person’s at rest than fat does, so building your muscles will help you burn more calories and maintain a healthy weight.

Different types of exercise strengthen different muscle groups, for example:

·              For arms, try rowing, pull-ups and push-ups, those old gym class standbys, are also good for building arm muscles.

·              For strong legs, try running, biking, or skating.

·              For shapely abs, you can’t beat rowing, bike riding, and crunches.

Flexibility Training

Strengthening the heart and other muscles isn’t the only important goal of exercise. Exercise also helps the body stay flexible, meaning that your muscles and joints stretch and bend easily. People who are flexible can worry less about strained muscles and sprains. Flexibility can also help improve a person’s sports performance. Some activities, like dance or martial arts, obviously require great flexibility, but increased flexibility can also help people perform better at other sports, such as soccer or lacrosse. Sports and activities that encourage flexibility are easy to find. Martial arts like karate also help a person stay flexible. Ballet, Pilates, and yoga are other good choices. Warming up for a workout and doing simple stretching exercises after your workout also help you develop flexibility.

What’s Right for Me?

One of the biggest reasons people drop an exercise program is lack of interest: If what you’re doing isn’t fun, it’s hard to keep it up. The good news is that there are tons of different sports and activities that you can try out to see which one inspires you. When picking the right type of exercise for you it can help to consider your workout personality. For example, do you like to work out alone and on your own schedule (in which case solo sports like biking or snowboarding may be for you), or do you like the shared motivation and companionship that comes from being part of a team?

Too Much of a Good Thing

Like all good things, it’s possible to overdose on exercise. Although exercising is a great way to maintain a healthy weight, exercising too much to lose weight isn’t healthy. The body needs enough calories to function properly.

Considering the benefits to the heart, muscles, joints, and mind, it’s easy to see why exercise is wise. If you exercise now, keep it up as you become an adult (this is often the biggest exercise challenge for people as they get busy with college and careers). One of the great things about exercise is that it’s never too late to start.

United States of America is Not a Real Superpower

You always think that the United States of America is the only real superpower in the current world and will remain as a superpower in the future. Well soon you may have to rethink about it. The 'Real Superpower' title is going to become the mother of all lies and a systematic conspiracy theory that the world have had ever known so far. The United States, like great ancient Roman Empire, is beginning to be plagued by the limits of its own strength and power. Doesn't accept it? Read the following facts and think again:

From the beginning of this 21st century, the United States is facing several challenges and competition from beyond its borders as well as internal difficulties. The American upper middle class and middle class, which is enjoying the industrial success of the US with designer homes, luxury cars, long vacations, and even private boats - has seen their income declining for the last 15 years. The American working class and lower income class families are slowly turning out to be the biggest losers of current globalisation. It is because of rising world economies such as China, India, Russia and Brazil, who can now very well collectively collaborate, compete and deliver low cost-high quality products and services around the clock to any part of the world.

The current globalisation is heavily striking on the United States economy. In fact, the United States is the very first country to actively promote the worldwide exchange of goods and services like no other country in the world, and the result is that many local manufacturing industries are closing the doors one by one and declaring bankrupt. Manufacturing industries such as home furnishings, consumer electronics, textile, automobile parts suppliers and computer manufacturers have had already closed the doors for good. In the recent past, the free trade has primarily benefited rival countries that are now mounting a heavy economic offence on the US. Knowingly, the US let the rival countries to cut off a large slice of America’s global market share in the last 25 years before and after the 'globalisation' phenomenon emerged into the scene.

Almost no one is saving any money in the United States today. Many don't have any money to save or simply don't want to save. Saving rates are very low or negative in many US states. The US government debt grows by about $1.5 billion per day and has now crossed more than $9.0 trillion dollars. The US private household debt has now crossed more than $11.5 trillion and half of these debts have been incurred after 1998. The fact is that the expanding consumer debt drives the US economy. The Americans are enjoying the present spending spree at the cost of their own future and future generations. In the near future, many Americans might have to face harsh reality like a poverty-stricken, third world family, living from hand to mouth situation without any kind of financial reserves whatsoever. The imminent economic crisis is waiting to happen in the US and will be most thoroughly predicted one in recent human history.

The financial position of the United States has declined dramatically in the last 15 years. The United States federal budget is in the deep red, adding to America’s dependency on borrowing money from overseas lenders and instantly creating huge debts to pay back. So far overseas borrowings have provided essential support to the value of the US dollar but the dollar is declining and so is that support by lenders. As the largest debtor nation, the US will have to be more conciliatory to its lenders; China is one of the biggest among them. The overseas lenders will be forced to switch from the dollar to a new currency reserve for international trade. At that time, the US economy and it's credit standing will plunge all together.

The United State's biggest overseas lenders are China and Japan; both these countries could easily cause very serious financial problems, if they wish to do so at any time in the near future. Nearly 27% of the government bonds issued by the US treasury are bought by China and Japan, another 14% by the Middle East countries. That's why the US doesn't complain much about lawless dictatorships and states with very worst human rights record. A country whose financial affairs are in the hands of foreigners is not a superpower.

The 'very unnecessary' war in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as buying large amounts of arms and military supplies (Is Halliburton indirectly owned by Vice-President Cheney?), maintaining overseas military bases in as many as 65 countries is totally wiping out billions of dollars from the US treasury every year. The priority of United States military expenditures has now created a growing deficit that is slowly causing some serious and long lasting problems to the United States public welfare benefit and education system. A government functioning so irresponsible with no sense of the prosperity of its own country and people is not really a superpower in any sense.

Now, the US is heavily dependent on overseas imports of manufactured goods and crude oil from the Middle East. In 2006, the US dependency on overseas imports of manufactured goods was thrice as large as the US dependency on imported crude oil. No economy can survive by importing nearly 80% of manufactured goods. In fact, no country in the history had ever survived in excessive imports and nearly closing down manufacturing. For example, every country in the world now exports goods to the United States without purchasing an equivalent amount of US goods in return. The United States can’t even achieve a trade balance with less developed economies like those of Romania and Ghana. Everyday, container ships arrive at US ports from various parts of the world to deliver goods and many return home totally empty. A country that imports even matchsticks from overseas can't be a superpower.

For more than half a century, the United States has maintained its economic lead by being faster than any other country at inventing new products and technologies for the global market. Today, however, its dominance is on the slide, as Asian countries such China, India and Japan pour huge resources into their R&D and challenge America’s traditional role as 'technology leader' in the current global economy. After the near erosion of many manufacturing industries, the United States is now rapidly increasing its dependency on imports of advanced technology products as well.

Half the world is really very impressed by the low level of unemployment in the United States. Only the other half clearly knows very well that these statistics may be the result of a voluntary telephone survey. Is working just ten hours per week enough for one to be classified as “employed”? The US statistics is usually intended to create more positive 'rosy' image and opinion than about its actual condition. The net reality is that the US job growth rate is falling behind its own population growth. Also, there are many 'Underemployed' Americans, who can't get a suitable job for their skills. A country that cannot create jobs for its own people is not a superpower.

A very striking fact is that the net increase of aging US population will make all the difference in the near future. 17 % of the US population is over 55 years old and 23% is over 40 years. Many can't afford to buy a basic health insurance. Hence, there are millions of Americans don't have any kind of health insurance. A country that can't even provide free basic healthcare to its own citizens can't be a superpower.

With US school students increasingly shunning mathematics and the science subjects, the United State's image of 'global technology leader' will soon become history. 45% of the student population in the so-called 'Top US Universities' are not from the US but from rest of the world. Leading technology companies such as Xerox, Microsoft, Apple, IBM, GE, Google are moving their key R&D projects out of US is very much evident than ever before due to lack of new skills and new thinking. A country, which depends on 'foreign brains' to remain, as a 'technology leader' can't be a superpower.

The United States of America was founded on the principles of equality and freedom of ex-pression for all race and religion on this earth. Those core principles are still not been implemented from the 'heart' but by the lips and the laws. The reality is whites don't like blacks, blacks don't like whites, whites don't like hispanics, hispanics don't like whites (Don't mistake me as a racist. I am not). Racial integration is a 'hot topic' and only widely spoken during the 'elections' by the US politicians to gain votes. If I don't mistake my heart and mind, there must be a definite and constructive increase of political and religious fundamentalism within the US just waiting to explode. The statement that 'US is a melting Pot' is indeed a pot full of lies. A country with racial unequality can't be a superpower. Will I ever be able to see an African American or Hispanic as the 'President of the United States of America'? I only wish.

How many Americans do fully understand that their vote for electing the US president technically does not have any influence or value? How many Americans do really know that the Electoral College is mostly anti-democratic and promotes corruption for selecting the US president? How many Americans know that they are 45% most likely to be policed directly or indirectly by their own elected government? The US should be ashamed and must stop calling as a 'true democratic' country, which loves freedom and gives equal rights to all. It is usually and always the other way around. Almost all United States governments are functioning just like a 'Big Business' entity under the ' TexMex Cowboy Governance', where you are with them or against them.

What did 'Hurricane Katrina's message' to all Americans and the rest of the world? There is also a Somalia or Sudan is within the great United States of America. The US government took five days to respond to the catastrophe after all was out of control. A government, which was too lazy to protect it's own citizens and lied to them that they were safe can't be a superpower. Make a visit to New Orleans. You will see it all.

The US mainline media is very cleverly and systematically misinforms the American public on all key political and social issues. The American public believes it as real!!! The corrupt media regime has well established links with all political 'big heads' of US politics. It is actually helping to stage a planned 'propaganda' directly focussed to 'brainwash' the American public with series of myths and illusion of lies as great as any ruthless 'dictatorship' could possibly do. The US mainline media never criticises the government or it's policies or president's actions and accountability. By taking democracy and peace for granted, president Bush had thoroughly done a great deal of damage to the United States than all the other previous US presidents put together. Job well done!!!

The Americans have become complacent and very less assertive to know about what's happening within the United States and around the world. Crucial thoughts and real political and social debates at the national and state level have become totally uncommon these days. The successive United States governments are exploiting this lack of political and social consciousness to make sure that their lies are not illusions. I am very disappointed to see that the majority of Americans are not doing anything about what is happening around them now. But, it is time to wake up now before it becomes too late to deal with.

By saying “You are either with us or against us” and by launching a war of aggression on the basis of lies and fabricated “intelligence,” the US government violated the United Nations and international laws. Thus, directly or indirectly insulted the whole international community including the US's traditional European allies. By going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, many military companies owned by the US politicians must have made billions of dollars in profit. Is it necessary to lose 3,000 Americans lives for the sake of lies? Thus, a land of liars will never be the land of superpower.

Extensive civilian casualties and infrastructure destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with the torture of innocent civilian detainees, human rights violation in secret and closed concentration camps and an ever-changing excuse for the so called 'war on terror', have destroyed all the moral creditabilities that provided the very diplomatic foundation for America’s superpower status in the past. What the US politicians failed to understand a very simple thing is that bullets, bombs and lies will never be able to create peace and democracy. A country that promises more war in the future will no longer be respected and which will be isolating itself from the rest of the world. An isolated country can't be and never be a superpower.

The mistake of going into war and destroying Iraq and Afghanistan will surely prove very costly for the United States for many more years in totally needless necessary to stay there and sort out the 'big mess', which will only result in less friendly countries, more enemies to face, more terror plots to thwart, more bin ladens to look after. The 'unconditional support' and partnering in all injustices and crimes committed by the Israel, not to mention the recent bombing of civilians and children in Lebanon is generating more frustration, anger and hatred against the United States. The 'Vision Israel' policy has no long-term benefit to the US in any sense but with endless subsidy to Israel, an indefinite financial spending, and providing fuel for the generation of 'Anti-Americanism' across the globe.

A country that fears small, distant countries such as North Korea and Iran to such an extent that it want to use military force and nuclear missiles in place of diplomatic means is truly not a superpower.

The United States is the one and only country in the world to have used nuclear weapons (Let me called it as 'weapon of mass destruction'!!). It had killed thousands of innocent sleeping Japanese civilians during middle of the night. If six decades after nuking Japan, the US again warns to use very advanced nuclear weapons on Iran and possibly triggering the 'first all out nuclear world war' on this planet. If it happens, it will only surely establish and reaffirm the Unites States of America as a 'criminal state' with the control of insane Americans. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up one fine morning to know that the Washington DC has been nuked. Because, What you give is what you get. It is a universal karma.

The United States politicians still think that the US is the one and only superpower of the current and future world. If that is the case, why they couldn't able to stop 9/11 happening? Or did they knowingly let the 9/11 to happen with the purpose to cover up their pot full of lies and divert Americans attention elsewhere? Or why can't they stop the Iraqi resistance and bring back the democracy? Or did the US invade Iraq in a hurry to grab its treasury and gold to pay off the mounting debts? Or why the United State's superior military power is not enough to prevail in fourth generation warfare? Or why the US let Afghanistan to be the breeding ground of terrorism? The answers lie somewhere between totally corrupt US political think tank and generations of confused American foreign policies.

If the United State's foreign policy and foreign relations doesn't change totally and unconditionally, any sympathy that might still exist in rest of the world for the US would soon disappear in the years to come, and the world would eventually forced to unite against the US on all fronts. A country against which the world is united will not be a superpower.

The land of the great American dream, land of opportunities, land of creations, land of all enterprises, land of wealth, land of future-minded people, land of melting pot, land of racial equality, America is revered by many. These catchy statements are actually nothing but organised 'marketing campaign' to create illusions to cover up the lies and fool the Americans. The reality is that America is no longer the same after 9/11, not even for the Americans, America is still the same after 9/11 tragedy. It's sad.

The present US leads the world in divorce, crime and immorality. A country, which is actually waiting for total economical, social and lifestyle disaster. The United States is too engrossed in power obsession to ever have the will to revive and remain as a real democratic country for its own citizens and for the sake of a peaceful world. It won't be long before the US will have to face grim reality of the future.

These are just some of the reasons why the United States is not and will never be a real superpower. We can surely expect a sharp decline in the influence and importance of the United States in world politics and economy. A more balanced, multi-polar world is emerging now. More and more people are getting better education, access to information and technology, working hard and looking forward to live peacefully on this earth. Unfortunately, the country that seems least ready to understand this reality is the United States of America.

If one were to go by the theory of Ibne-Khuldun, a 12th Century Arabic scholar from Morocco whose writings was compiled in the book "Muqqadima", theorizes that all civilizations in this world usually will have a life span of approx 300 years before totally fading out. Some civilizations after they fade away become dead civilization like Aztec, Inca and Mayan civilizations. Others civilizations like Persian, Indian, Chinese, Egyptian etc are living civilizations capable of rising again and again.

Eisenhower once said that the military-industrial complex of the America will not be the friendly face of America, but it is indisputably the face of today's America. So, How many Americans are ready to bring back the true American dream? How many Americans have the guts to do 'revolution' to over throw the corrupt US government? Are they waiting for someone to tell them to do it? Rise and unite to stand. Don't fall to the lies. The history will never forgive so do the future American generations.

NOTE: Let me make it clear that I am not an ‘Anti-American’ or whatever you can call me… Sometimes, very harsh critical comments are necessary to find real time solutions. I hope that you can agree on this. I did try to avoid comparing the US with other problems of the world. Because, by doing so, it is very easy to find many positive things about the US in general. It will only lead to ignore the actual present and future problems (and crisis!!) and the very necessary to find firm and decisive solutions.

I don't have an intention to create a debate of why the US is not a superpower. The negatives that I have mentioned in the article will not only have significant impact on the US and the rest of the world in the near future but a considerable impact on the future human race as well. I am very much concerned and worried about what will happen to the world if and when the USA's stronghold on the world diminishes in the next 50 years ..100 years..

I believe that this world is fast becoming a giant global village. Inter-dependence of countries is far more significant and very crucial than 50 years ago. I believe that the US should stop interfering in other country's affairs. Let the world countries to find solutions to all their political and social problems before any help can given by the international community. Because, this will allow us to find long lasting solutions and options to sort out current global problems. If the outdated US policies don't change, the US will be singled out from the world in the future.

I do think that the majority of Americans are innocent, peace loving people like all others. The Americans deserve to be taken care primarily by their federal government at all times as it is said in the US constitution.

I am 31 years old, very proudly from India. Currently, live in one of the small villages of United Kingdom. I did live in the United States for more than four years. What I knew about America before I stepped in for the first time wasn’t the America I have experienced in all those years. Hence, I no longer live in the US. However, I do have good friends in the United States. The United States had given many inventions and good things to the world civilization. I really don't want to see the same country to go down in the history as an arrogant and deprived nation.

May God bless all of us in this 'flat world' with love and peace. Email the article to your family members and friends. Share your views.
